I knew the age change for the vuffets but also for the sit downs??? I just was on Debs site and see on her updated menu for Rose and Crown chilrens menu is 9 and under. They are nuts to think my 11yo DD can eat an adult entree. That would really be a sin to waste so much!! Anyone with any experiences... or is it a mistake. i only find this at R&C.

TIA!Sue

My son is 11, and during our August visit he was able to order off the children's menu at a couple of places just because all he wanted was a simple burger and fries. There was no problem at all.

I hope that is the case. I have two DD's ; one age 9 and one age 11. It frustrates me that WDW considers my 11 year old an adult. PLEASE ! :earseek: I booked a Candlelight processional dinner package and had to pay $30.99 for her dinner. CRAZY !

I have an ADR for the Garden Grill. When I booked it, I explained that I had no problem paying the adult fee for my DD, but asked if we could request the "children's" platter for her, as she does not eat any of the items on the "adult" one. The CM could not really tell me whether that would be allowed, and suggested that I ask at check in, but that it sounded like it would not be a problem. Has anyone else tried to do this?

Again, I have every intention of paying the adult price (she is 13 so I really don't have an issue with that).

I was very displeased when I found out they charged my niece $24.99 for a dinner in which she ate a bit of pasta off the childrens table and some fruit. I don't believe many children under 12 would eat anything besides the childrens food. I think this is a rip off and will not go to any more dinner buffets with kids. I didn't mind so much at the character lunch at Garden Grill, even though she only ate off the childrens platter she loved the lunch and the characters. I did ask to get her the kids dessert so she could make her own cupcake like her sister and brother, they had no problem bringing her one. I would think they would be happy to bring a childrens platter and charge the adult price! I imagine the kids platter costs Disney practically nothing.

We just got back from Disney with our two DD's 7 and 11. We ate at Chef Mickey's, Sci-Fi Drive-in and Rainforest Cafe. I told them when we were checking in at the podium that we needed two children's menus. Nobody questioned it. I would also hate paying full adult prices for children that just don't eat a lot, like mine. My DD's both usually have a hot dog, chicken fingers or mac and cheese. I really wish Disney would bend a little and use a Jr. price for kids maybe between the ages of 9 and 12.

I also really don't see any harm in an adult ordering from a child's menu. Denny's has a Sr. menu that is just perfect for my grandmother. Why should she have to order food that she won't eat and will be wasted. Just my .02 cents.

... my DS(13) is a fussier eater than he knows. We are just back today from 9 days. DS is 13. What I did most times at TS restaurants was ask for BOTH an adult and child menu for him, asking if he could still order from kid's menu. They always said no problem. The only place it is non-negotiable is at the buffet meals, character or not, where I paid adult price for him. Although he eats lots, "demi-glace" and "coulis" is wasted on him. He just is at that stage where he waznts to oder from the grown-up menu and niot eat chicken strips constantly like DD(9)!!!!
At WCC, we ordered off adult menu for him - at Coral Reef, kids +appetizer, at RFC, kids. Ditto at Planet Hollywood.
Hope this helps... :grouphug: melomouse
