Children at Intimate ceremony

Can anyone tell me if children are included in the guest count for an intimate wedding. My brother and his wife have changed their mind for the hundreth time and decided that they want to come to the ceremony with their 3 kids. I already have 9 people attending at the WL so I only have room for 1 more. I do not want to move the ceremony as my DF and I are staying at the WL and our wedding in only 2 months away.

Has anyone had this situation happen to them? Any insight would be great.

Yes, they do count! I'm sorry! I wanted my cousin and his wife to come with their two kids and she is pregnant. I asked if the kids were going to count, b/c that would put me over my people limit, and my WP said she had to ask. She told me they said that they did and that if she had her baby by then, they'd count that too!!!! A BABY that couldn't leave it's mother's arms! It's not like it could even eat anything or take up ANY space, but she said it counted. Well, maybe your sister can get a sitter, they have them for the Resorts and maybe the kids could stay with one till the wedding is over? I hope this helps, I'm sorry I had to give you bad news, I know it's not what you wanted to hear. Maybe you should try talking to your WP and see if they can make an exception since it's so close to the wedding and you already have everything planned!!! Good luck!

Unfortunately im pretty sure Disney wont budge on the guest count, as they dont usually change things for just one person, no matter how much we'd like them to be more flexible!! but i wasnt aware you could only have 10 at the WL.

Wow that sounds like my sister! She can never make up her mind and stick to it, it's always yes - then no - then yes - for everything. We had a WL Sunrise Terrace ceremony too - it was a gorgeous location! You can seat more than 8 guests on the Terrace, there are additional benches along the sides of the Terrace, but I don't know how much of a stickler DFTW will be about adding a couple extra, even if they are children. In the end my sister came without her kids (they stayed with their father) and so it worked out. A Disney sitter would be a great option. If it were me and my family I'd just tell them that they took too long to make up their minds and at this late date the kids cannot attend the cermony and cake cutting and blame Disney for the number restrictions (I used that excuse on several people I didn't want at my wedding). You could invite the kids to attend anything else you're hosting (dinner, brunch, etc.). Tell them Disney babysitting is excellent and is available for a nominal fee (offer to cover the fee if you feel generous). Best of luck!!

Well, this definitely answered some of my questions. DF and I have been on the debate about an Intimate vs. Custom. The only thing we had problems working out was the money. But, if DFTW counts children, I can't do an Intimate. My son has to be a part in the wedding. That's one thing I can't budge.

If you still want an Intimate, all you have to do is change the location to a site that can accomodate more than 10 people, all you have to do is stay beneath 18 guests! And it's much cheaper than a custom! Talk with your WP and see what other locations are available for Intimate weddings. But whatever you do, good luck!
