We went in May with a 2-year old and printed labels that had our names and cell phone numbers on them (we used florescent lime green shipping labels). Stuck the sticker to his back so he never really noticed and didn't try to peel it off. Carried extras in case we got wet and needed to replace.
The stickers said:
My name is XXX.
My parents are Mark and Beth.
If I am not with them, please call (phone nos)
We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge.
Some people say not to put the child's name on it since a bad person could use that to make the child feel comfortable with him, but we were dealing with a 2-year-old so I didn't think that was an issue for us.
The key is to get your cell phone numbers on the kids in a place where a cast member will see it, or if the child is old enough, in a place where they will remember to show the cast member.
Also, sticking the sticker on his back meant there wasn't something weird on his clothes or arm in every picture.
I didn't get to see your post before I posted mine. I love the idea of the bright colorMy answer is not nearly as good as the 1 before me but I like to have my kids in the same or similar color shirts. They are pretty good about staying together but sometimes it is so easy to get nudged in a crowd while entering a ride! I am not a big fan of having my kids name on their clothing/backpacks. I know Disney is much safer than being out & about on streets...but I do remember leaving The Lion King show when my daughter was 2 & the rush of people on the way out was amazing & we lost her. Thank goodness some lady saw her and was holding her hand I don't even think she spoke much english & my daughter was as calm as could be. She was only about 6 feet from us -but scary! I try to remind the kids to go to a worker & try to stay in the area we were last. Let's hope none of our children get lost!!!![]()
She turned up a few minutes later standing in the doorway to the ladies room screaming at the top of her lungs, but if for some reason we hadn't been nearby to hear her, she would've had our cell #'s around her neck and we could've been located quickly. I think my ds 8 would like to wear the regular dog tag kind of thing. I'll definitely do it next time.
Our neighbors go regularly w/their 11 yo DD. She told me they went to Petsmart and got a heart shaped dog tag w/her name & their cell numbers on it, that way, if they're not at Disney, she's got it all. she likes that it just looks like a necklace. she's old enough now she knows the numbers, but if for some reason she couldn't speak, the parents could be contacted.
