Hello!

My brother-in-law was thinking about buying an AP. Being budget minded, he asked if he could buy his DS the AP and make discounted room reservations in the DS's name. I didn't think he'd be able to do this since the credit card holding the room would have to be in his DS's name as well. Of course, if he paid cash at check in....

Could this work or is this stretching the bounds of ethics?

My daugther has done this without a problem. She did absolutely nothing unethical. We go often (granddad is a CM) and take our grandson with us a couple of times a year. We buy him his own AP since we goes several times. In 1999 my daughter went to WDW and our grandson (then 5) went with her, of course. When she made the room reservations she told the CM that her son was an AP holder, and was given the room at an AP rate (back then it wasn't a great discount). The CM said that "as long as someone in your party is a AP holder you qualify for the discount." She, of course, took the lower rate. The room was booked in her name and she paid with her credit card. Whether the policy has changed since then, I wouldn't know. Now she just goes when we're there, since we can get her a room at 50% off.

Not sure if the policy has changed, but the person making the reservation has to be an annual pass holder and the person making the reservation has to be over 18. Sometimes the CM's do the strangest things. :) And, often, they are not on the "same page". They enforce this rule 99% of the time.

We went to Disney World in mid December...I called and asked before I bought the AP and they told me that it WAS fine to use a childs AP and I even reserved three cabins at Ft. Wilderness and they were all in my name and on my credit card!! They had said that I would need to have it activated BEFORE check in, but it wasn't too much of a hassel, especially where we saved sooooo very much on the cabins.
