made reservations for my son's 4th birthday. How is Chief Mickey's?

You will find mixed reviews, butw we LOVE it! Hit it every single trip, last trip, we hit it for dinner and breakfast!! Great character interaction. My kids favorite restaurant.

For my DH and I it was fine Food was fresh, it was clean. We went late in the am on a day we weren't going in to a park and it was far from the mad house I feared. Interaction from the characters was fantastic at that time of morning.

For our kids, who were 3 and 5 (celebrating her birthday)? Well, it's just about the only thing they really remember about the trip back in '06! They LOVED it, lol.

ETA: I know it's hardly current, lol. My intent of jumping in here is not about the food so much, but I wanted to share with you the fact it really stuck with my kids as the place DD celebrated her birthday.

My DGD loves Chef Mickeys!! The characters are a lot of fun!! We're going back to DW in August and my DGD (10) just asked me if we could go back to Chef Mickeys. We liked the food at breakfast better than the food at dinner. Have fun!!

We went for breakfast last Oct and thought the food and characters were fantastic. Our server was terrible, but that didn't seem to be the theme of the tables around us with different servers.

Our family loves Chef Mickeys, we have had many breakfast and dinners here, I was just there in January with my mom celebrating her 70th birthday, we were there for dinner.

We had a wonderful time, the food was really good:

The salad section was very fresh, and gave several choices, dressing taste homemade, also on the salad section were cold shrimp and crab claws.

There were several veggie selections to choose from, broccoli steamed perfectly,green bean and squash with red onions,and I think scalloped corn.

On the main entree section, haddock with wild rice, baked or braised chicken with roasted potatoes, and a pasta dish with sausage.

Carving board Ham, turkey and some type of beef and the most wonderful smashed potatoes they were heavenly

Kid selection, were chicken strips/nuggets, pasta and meatballs, baby carrots, potato wedges, and chicken legs( sorry I can't remember if they were baked or fried).

Dessert selection - Super yummy, cheese cake and fruit tart was out of this world. My mom tried all the desserts, and could not pick a favorite.

Character interaction was wonderful.

We had dinner there last October and it was our favorite meal the whole week. Lot's of different food selections and the character interaction was fantastic. My kids still talk about it all the time. We are going back to WDW this coming October and we are going to try Chef Mickey's for breakfast this time around.

We always go to Chef Mickey's because now it's kind of a tradition! The atmosphere is really fun, and you get to meet mickey and his friends while you eat! The food is good...let's face it, it's a buffet (not a gourmet meal!), but there's definitely something for everyone!

We ate there last September for our sons 4th birthday as well. Food was yummy and fresh. Characters were pretty rushed but we still enjoyed it. It wasn't one of my favorite meals but definitely a place we want to go back to on our next trip.

CM has always been my son's favorite meal. Ate there for Christmas Eve dinner (Dec '11) and it was horrible. The servers were in bad moods and got angry with guests trying to get to and from the buffet while avoiding characters. They never got angry with us, but just having the attitudes being tossed around toward those near us and whispers between servers standing near by changed the environment completely away from what it was supposed to feel like.

We have no desire to go back until Disney refocuses on service with a smile. The lay out of this place, however, makes it hard for guests not to get in the way as it's a buffet.
