The joy of fundraising. I'm still doing it and I'm not working at the school anymore! I spent two hours running a book fair last night.

Oh, good morning! Or Good afternoon I suppose. It's going to be warm today. It should be nice.

 

[Grumpy's Wife]

Susan it's not fund raising in general that I hate just the kind where the kids have to go door to door. Book fairs are nice and if someone wants a book they come and buy it. It's the poor neighbors that get the brunt of all the kids selling things for their schools.

I understand. I wouldn't like that much either. I was not a good fund-raiser as a child!

Do you have any Mother's Day plans? I hope your kids will spoil you!

 

[Grumpy's Wife]

I'm not sure what we are doing on Sunday but Saturday my whole family is coming over for a BBQ. Colin has a game at 2:00 that everyone will go to then back to my house for a little grilling. I'm sure at some point we will go to the inlaws on Sunday but I don't want that to be the focus of the day. So I guess our plans are still in the air.

What do you have planned for your mom?

Good morning! Friday too!

Tomorrow morning is the mother/daughter tea at my mom's school. I'll be playing the role of Daughter. I am not sure what I'll be doing but I will be working the book sale before and after and probably hosting the table since my mother will be up and down. They are having a fashion show and a guest speaker. It should be interesting.

On Sunday, it's Mom's choice. I'm not sure what she'll want to do. I got her a Wii Fit so we'll probably play around with that. If you remember, last year I broke my arm so I'm hoping I won't be doing that again.

Oh Susan I did forget about you breaking your arm until you mentioned it. I do remember that now. Be careful this weekend so there's no repeating that terrible time.

I've got some wrapping to do today for my mom and mother in law.

I'm just getting home from Kendall's school. Next year I'll be taking over the spirit cart (selling sweatshirts and all the other goodies schools sell). I was getting all the info from the lady who did it this year. Her son will be moving on to high school next year so she's passing the torch on to me.

Susan I saw on the news they are having wild fires again in California. I hope it's not too close to your area.

I'll be melting at Colin's baseball game this afternoon, then my family is coming over for a BBQ.

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. It was 87 here yesterday. I think it's going to be a very hot summer.

Today is Ring Day for Kelsie. My little baby is growing up. They are having a ceremony this afternoon and I'm sure I'll be all teary eyed watching this. I can't believe my little girl is getting her Senior Ring already. The Seniors are already out of school and graduate this weekend. Where has the time gone?

Tricia, I thought the samg thing. We had Valerie's last home lacrosse game which is Senior day. They get flowers and plague from the coach and the other teammates.
I can't believe it's over. It seemed only yesterday she played her first t-ball game. We gotta slow that clock down a bit.

Happy belated Mother's Day!

I hope you all had a good one. I was my mother's slave all weekend so I barely touched the computer other to check on e-mail.

What is the ring ceremony? That's something we didn't do. We could get class rings if we wanted them (I did) but I think that was sophomore year and we sure didn't have a ceremony. It sounds like a nice tradition.

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday.

Susan a ring ceremony is basically when all the kids get their senior class rings. It was in the Gym, all decorated with balloons and streamers. They have almost 500 in the Jr. class so it took a while. They had a big blow up class ring that each student walked through as their name was called. Our last name starts with "S" so it seemed like Kelsie's name was never going to get called. Then they walked on stage to the principal where he handed them their ring. It was really very nice, all the kids were dressed up and lots of the mom's were crying (me included). The principal introduced them at the end as the new senior class which got me going again.

That's very sweet! I wish we'd had a ring ceremony. What does her ring look like?

I went to the dentist this morning and am now sporting some very clean teeth. It wasn't too terrible today. He seems like he was a little gentler with the sharp pointy object.

Susan I hate going to the Dentist but love how your teeth feel after having them cleaned. You'd think with all the technology advancements they have they could so something about the sound of the drill.

Happy Wednesday!

I woke up this morning and thought of how nice it would be if it were Saturday and I could lay there a little longer. My bed was very comfy this morning. I have a busy day ahead of me and then tomorrow starts the vacation season for my co-workers. It seems like one after the other will be gone which makes everything busier for me.

Good morning and happy Friday.

My niece is getting married this weekend. The kids are in the wedding and are very excited about it. We'll be heading over to the hotel this afternoon and will spend the weekend there. The rehearsal is tonight and the wedding tomorrow night. I hope the weather cooperates because there is a chance of rain.

Good Morning.

We had a great weekend. Friday was the rehearsal party at a fancy restuarant. I'm not that fancy and didn't care for the food. The evening was very enjoyable though. The wedding on Saturday was wonderful. The kids did great, we all danced the night away. My feet were so sore yesterday because I'm not used to wearing heals that often. Two days in a row just about did me in.

One week until Disney! Now I'm in full blown count down mode.

Congrats to Daisy for graduating. Did she get a special treat?
