Chicks and Roosters...part 2

You mean Tricia, right? I was wondering what car myself. :)

Wer're looking a a used Ford Focus. The Hondas are very popular but they cost way over $10,000.

Yep.

Like I said in a PP, we got one through Car Max. I really liked the idea of "screening" on-line. The even transported one that I liked about 100 miles from another car max lot so that I could see it!

also when you are looking at the car on-line, you can click on the car report, by an independent organazation that tells you if it has evern been in an accident, re-posessed, etc.

for example, I just did a check and they have 147 Ford Focus's (nationwide) under 10k.

anyway, good luck.

thanks Grumpy! :thumbsup2

There is no Car Max on Long Island. The closest one was over 75 miles away in Conn. I've been using the car Fax reports on all the cars. It's really helpful!

I've been using the cxar

I would have been freezing right along with you. Heck, I'm freezing now and it's supposed to be in the 70's today.

Happy Thursday!

I had my Bunco group at my house last night and made lasagna in the crock pot. Turned out pretty good!

Glad you had fun at bunco. Lasagna in the crock pot sounds interesting. :)

For those of you who have stayed at Pop, do you have recommendations on which "decade" to request? I have a co-worker that's taking her family.

I wish I could go!

Susan we stayed in the 70's and were right next door to the preferred building of the 60's. A quick walk to the food court and the buses........it was a great location. :thumbsup2 I would avoid the 90's because that set of buildings seem far from the food court. With that being said the back part of the 60's isn't too close either. What time of year is your friend going? If it isn't a busy time she might not have to pay extra for the preferred rooms but if she has small children she might not want the extra walking if she is on the back side of any of the buildings.

Thanks Tricia! I just read that to my friend. She appreciates it! I do too.

Anything big for the weekend? I'm going to my Goddaughter's 5th birthday party. I can't believe she's 5!

Good Morning. :wave2:

Susan how was the party?

Joanne how goes the car hunting?

Saturday we had a busy day of shopping, running errands and going to a soccer game. Yesterday we just chilled.

Good morning all :hippie:

We did buy a used Ford Focus but won't be picking it up probably till Wednesday because of the storm we're having today.

The kids have a snow day and I stayed home too. DH is out there with the snowblower doing the elderly neighbors houses.

That's so nice of your DH Joanne. We just had this conversation the other day about how I can't even imagine having to shovel the sidewalk or dig your car out of the snow before leaving for work. Our once every couple of years of snow does us just fine. We're chilly today (40's right now) but by Wednesday we'll be back to the 70's ........just where I like it.

Good morning!

The party was great. I can't believe my little Alyssa is 5 today! She had a lot of fun with all her friends.

I came back with some kind of stuff going on in my chest. At first I thought it was allergies since they have a big hairy dog and there are lots of things blooming in the valley but I've been home, showered twice and still feel bad. Yuck.

Good Morning.

Susan the pollen is really bad around here. All the cars have a yellowish/green film on them. Maybe that's a sure sign that spring is on it's way.

Good morning! I'm sorry I didn't get by here yesterday. I took a sick day so I could rest and get to the doctor. I have bronchitis again and an asthma flare up. What fun. I'm doing all right though.

I took Daisy back to the vet today where they will do x-rays and possibly remove the pins from her leg. I hope they can do that so we can move on! I'd love to be able to take her for walks.

Good afternoon :hippie:

Susan I hope you're feeling better. I hope Daisy is on her feet soon. :)

Tricia, I sure do hope Spring is on it's way. It's been a cold winter!

Good Morning ladies.

I missed checking in yesterday. Mark was home in the morning and on the computer. That's my normal DIS time while the kids are still sleeping. He was back from a meeting very early and took me to lunch. We went to Longhorn Steak House and had the seven pepper steak salad. It was so yummy and quite peppery too.

Susan I hope you are feeling better. Is little Daisy getting around pretty good with the pins in her leg?

Joanne I'm sure no one more so than our northern friends can't wait for spring. Today we'll be in the mid 70's so we really have to enjoy that while we can. When you get spring we'll be full blown into the very very hot 90's.

Good morning all

Tricia, that was a nice treat to have lunch with your DH - without any kids! :flower3: But how dare he ruin your morning routine. :rotfl:

Good morning!

I'm still not feeling that great, but I'm plugging along. Poor Daisy had her pins removed tomorrow but they really cut her open to do it. She has stitches again and was really out of it last night. I know she's in pain, she has to be.

How nice to go out to lunch! I'm sure that was a treat to have your husband home during a weekday.

How is everything with you Joanne?

Good Morning.

Susan I hope you and Daisy are both feeling better after a weekend of rest and relaxation.

Kendall's school was in a cheer competition this weekend. As a proud mom I'm here to report that they came in first place.

My kids were off of school on Friday for the end of the third nine weeks grading period. That gave us a chance to leave early and head over to the hotel. Just about all the parents stayed with the girls so that really gave us a great chance to really get to know them better. When you are just saying hi in the carpool line are making small chit chat you really don't get to know someone. The weekend wore me out and I never really sleep good in a hotel anyway. Last night I went to bed at 8:00. I think I needed that extra sleep.

Have a great Monday!

Good morning

Congradulation to Kendall!!
Although it was tiring, that was nice you got a chance to meet the other parents.
I'm sure you will have plenty of competitions in the future. They will be like your second family!

Susan I hope you're feeling better. :flower3:
Poor Daisy, it's so hard to see our pets in hurt and in pain. :sad2:

Congrats to Kendall! That's great!

I can't seem to shake this cold! I don't know what's going on but it's just hanging on. I had a pretty nice weekend though. Saturday was nice and quiet. Yesterday I went to Target and then did chores around the house. Daisy is doing great. She's quite the trooper and doesn't seem to be in pain anymore.

Good morning all

Susan, glad to hear Daisy is doing well. ( I love her name!)

Hope your cold is better today. I hate when they just won't go away!
