Nice to see you Grim. How are you and the family? Any trips coming up?
Hey, Tricia! We're pretty good, all things considered. Yes, we live in Kentucky, but fortunately, we only had a little bit of ice before a bubble of warmth from Tennessee melted it before turning to all snow. Still, it was a treacherous drive to work with the ice on the roads. Other parts of the state weren't so lucky. They didn't get that bubble of warmth from the south, and ice just kept on piling up and up on power lines, roads, etc. until it all changed to snow. I count myself lucky that we merely lost our cable internet for 3 days. Others in the state really got hammered. A friend of mine in Lexington lost power until Saturday night, and the inside temp in his home by then was about 48 degrees. About 30 miles separated my area from that stuff. Whew. Now we're going to get 2-4 inches of snow over the next 48 hours or so, but that's nothing compared to even 1/8th of an inch of ice. Most of the state seems to have its power back by now. We're a state that is usually in the crosshairs of these big winter storms, but usually end up with rain for most of them, with a little snow on the back end after the cold air moves through, or we'll occasionally get a big snow storm. We're not that well equipped for snow storms, compared to states further north, and we're even less equipped to deal with ice storms.
I doubt we'll be taking any big trips this year, at least not to WDW. We're going to be paying off debts probably the rest of this year, and just making weekend trips when we can up to my MIL's place near Cincinnati, etc. Maybe next year. I have to be honest, though: I'm still sort of "burned out" on WDW from our trip this past October. We had fun, but it seemed to tire us out more than ever before, with the crowds, all the walking around Coronado Springs just to eat, etc. We're going to at least wait until we can afford to go Deluxe again for the entire week before we think about booking WDW again. That will most likely not occur until at least next year, though.
I wish that $1 deal was for a week's stay at the Polynesian.

No offense to NYC lovers, but going there is just not a relaxing or fun thing for me. It's a great city for what it is and it's the financial capital of the world, but if I'm going somewhere strictly for fun and relaxation, I'm heading anywhere on earth but NYC.
