Chicks and Roosters...part 2

Morning!

I'm hoping today goes quickly and then tomorrow goes quickly and then I can go get that puppy!

That $1 deal seems too good to be true. Hopefully it's all legit. Of course it doesn't help me at work at all!

Good Morning. :wave2:

Yesterday I went with Colin's class on a field trip. They forgot to mention to us that the first half was outside. On my way there the thermometer in my car said 31 degrees and ice. :sad2: It was so cold because the wind was blowing and they had us on a wagon type ride being pulled by a tractor. Not fun, not fun at all. :sad2:

Brrr! That sounds way too cold Tricia! I don't like any temps below 70. It's raining today which is good because we really need the rain.

Oh yeah. . . Good morning!

That doesn't sound like fun at all. I guess you won't be suggesting that trip to other parents.

Good evening :wave2:

Good morning all

I hope everyone has a great weekend. :cool1:
It suppose to warm up to he 40's so that will feel nice. :)

I ordered Girl Scout cookies yesterday. I wait all year to get those yummy things. Every year I say I'll order extra and put some in the freezer to have later in the year. They never seem to make it to the freezer though. :sad2:

I should have sold them to you! Oh well. My oldest little girl, 9, is in her 3rd year of selling those things this year. We didn't sell as many this year, partially because of the economy and partially because we just don't care as much about selling them as before. We had to turn in our orders on 1/30. We always get some for ourselves though, because we love us some GC cookies. Our younger daughter will probably start Brownies next year when she's in 1st grade, so we'll still have to hit up our co-workers, friends, etc. for years to come.

Grim, I tell that to people all the time!
It's so damn expensive why would you want to come here? :rotfl:
I think Christmas season is overrated. But I may shaded because I'm here everyday.

There's hundreds of people watching the tree lighting that can't even see the tree. People line up 3 blocks deep, with the tall buildings unless you're right there at the tree you can't see anything

Good morning all

I've been to NYC several times, but only once for an actual vacation-y experience. Other times were for business or for long travel layovers. I've actually never been during the holiday season, so I would like to see that once with my family some time, but only for maybe one day and evening, and then get out and go somewhere where I can breathe, like Buffalo or something. ;) I have a lot of friends from Buffalo, and every single one of them could drink anybody else I know under the table, so I'd like to see how they learn that trick. :lmao: I guess it's so nasty there in the winter there's nothing else to do. I like NYC, and like the people there, but it's just sort of a business place for me, rather than a personal place.

It's just difficult for me to consider something a vacation unless I'm :beach: , :drive: or going through WDW.

Good morning!

I was supposed to be on the road to go get my puppy today but she sprained her knee and they didn't want us to come get her yet. I'm so disappointed. I might have to wait another week.

Awww Susan sorry you can't pick up little Daisy today. Better to be safe though. Just how does a pupply sprain her knee?
Have a great weekend.

Good Morning. :wave2:

We had a rather spring like weekend, 70's and oh so nice. It made me want to get in the garden to plant something but I'm afraid we will still have a little winter left.

Susan how is Daisy doing? I hope her little leg in feeling better.

Joanne how's the cold temps by you?

ETA~Grim I didn't want to leave you out, so hello and I hope you are still unblocked at work.

Good morning!

Susan, do you know when Daisy will be going home with you?

Tricia, glad you enjoyed your nice weather. But as you said don't get too comfortable, it's still early enough for colder weather to be rolling in. ;)

It is nice here. we're in the 40's and 50's, which is a big welcome to what we've been having!!

We had a GORGEOUS weekend here. We had highs in the low 60's on Saturday and probably around 70 on Sunday. It's supposed to be warm, but rainy and stormy this entire week until about Friday, after which it will get back down to normal for us, which is 40's. That's better, though, than the teens, 20's and 30's we had been having for about 45 days straight. We'll have some real winter left around here, but we're far enough south here that it's getting too late in the season now for anything like we saw temps-wise in January, though that doesn't rule out big snows before about April 1. We typically get more snow in February and March, when it gets a little warmer, but wetter here, than in December and January when it can be bitter cold, but usually extremely dry. That ice storm a couple weeks ago was a nasty exception to this rule, though.

This sort of makes up for the Indian Summer we never got last fall. It will also be much easier on my electric bill next month.

I woke up to rain this morning. I'm not sure if it's an all day thing or just passing through. I tell you it makes for fun times at the bus stop. :lmao:

Susan how about a Daisy update?

Joanne has the snow stopped by you?

Grim it's good to see that you still have DIS access at work. :thumbsup2

Joanne I love the new "Loser" in your signature. Too funny!:rotfl:

You might see a few of them around the boards. Someone made it up from all the days we were trying to get the deal.

Grim, I hear you on the electri bill. My oil bill this winter is crazy! :sad2:

Susan, where are you and Daisy? :)

Good morning!

Sorry I wasn't around much, I didn't work yesterday and didn't get a chance to get online much.

I've got Daisy! I picked her up on Saturday. I may have jumped the gun a bit because I found out yesterday that her leg is broken and she is currently at the surgery center getting pins put in her leg. It's kind of a strange situation. I paid a lot of money for a pup and now I'm paying a lot of money to have her leg fixed. The breeder is refunding some of the money but it's not going to cover everything. I've been given conflicting advice but the bottom line is I'm keeping the dog and doing what I have to do to get her well. I can't have any regrets, she's the sweetest little dog and I love her already.

I'm so sorry to hear about Daisy's leg! But please know you are doing the right thing. Those breeders often don't do the right thing, and they over-breed dogs to the point where broken bones, bad backs, etc. are very common in bred dogs like that. It's why I tried to get pets when I was younger in shelters. Those are pets that are more likely to be mutts (generally stronger and healthier than pure bred dogs) and require less in medical costs, at least early on. But every animal deserves to be loved, in spite of their unfortunate early circumstances, and I'm glad you're providing that for Daisy. You'll get paid back with so much more than the upfront vet costs.

I'm going to the Kentucky-Florida basketball game tonight. UK has lost 3 straight and is in a tailspin, but I'm hoping they come out of it tonight against Florida, our biggest SEC rival lately. Rupp Arena is sure to be rockin' tonight, that's for sure. Look for me on ESPN! I'll be the one wearing blue.

:rotfl: :sail: :magnify: I think I saw you Grim. How was the game? Did UK win?

Susan I'm sorry you're going through all this with Daisy. She's got a great mom and a loving home to come home to. So is she staying at the vets or with you now?

Happy Hump Day (I think). Woke up to rain again today. :guilty:

Good morning all

Susan, sorry about Daisy's leg! I do hope you get a decent amount from the breeder. I'm glad you're enjoying her. Between you and the doctors she's in good hands. :flower3:

That was truly an awesome game. Jody Meeks hit a 3-pointer with about 5 seconds left that won the game for UK, with Florida's Nick Calathes in his face. That was probably the most exciting UK game I've ever been to. You might not have seen me on camera, but I sat next to someone famous. :rolleyes1
