Chick-Fil-A invites customers to visit for National Sandwich Day (on a Sunday)

No on really let’s the market decide otherwise we would never had had too big to fail.

Of course, the market has spoken concerning Sea World, and less people are visiting since Black Fish. Boycotting does work.
Sorry - I don't understand what the bolded sentence means.

I didn't said boycotts never work; some do. I chose two that were rather relevant to this discussion as examples that didn't. And regarding SeaWorld, AFAIK, they don't do whale shows anymore, which I'm sure is a business decision based on financial losses, in hopes of regaining some of the lost market.

And yet, I think most people would assume why they are closed on Sunday without them mentioning it. Imagine if they were like "we are closed on Sundays so our employees can go down to the casino and gamble and drink $1 Bud Lights without having to work around a six hour weekend shift." Why does anyone need to know the reason they are closed except the point is to make sure people know the reason?

Either way, this particular thing wouldn't be a dealbreaker for me if I found their food in any way satisfying.
Respectfully, it really does sound like you have a strong enough opinion on the subject matter..would seem odd to abandon that so long as the food was to your liking. I'd say you're like a few of us others that can separate the two meaning enjoy their food without adding a layer of connection to something. But your several comments don't lead me to believe this would be the case so I'm a bit surprised you'd say it wouldn't be a big issue so long as you liked their food. Maybe I have the impression wrong and if so apologies on that.

The church thing wouldn’t be a dealbreaker. I just find it heavy handed. So if that was the only thing going on, it wouldn’t be enough to keep me away if I liked it. The other stuff is too much for me to overlook, though.

My husband is going to rope drop it tomorrow. :rotfl2:
Successfully got mine today at lunch! Line into the street, but it moved quickly. It was no longer wait than anywhere else. And instead of “my pleasure” after I said thank you, the lady said “you welcome, Dawlin’!” ...which I much prefer. When I got back to work everyone who saw me with it was going on about it. Everyone had a story of being told it was so good & thinking it can’t be that good & getting it & saying it IS that good! So, to ppl here, it is THAT good. I don’t know anyone who prefers CFA here. But I have been told on these boards that our Popeyes here are better than abroad.

It doesn’t always behave. Just look at the repo market.

I ate at a Popeye's for the first time yesterday. When people picked up their orders, the employee told them to have a blessed day.

Nope, there were multiple employees filling orders and every single one of them said it. I live in WI and I found it meaningless.
:scratchin Did it strike you as something they were programmed to say, like “my pleasure” or “have a magical day” or more just the individuals winging it? If a person said that to me here, I’d assume it was meaningful to them in some way rather than part of a corporate script.

Yes, told/trained to say, as they were robotically repeating it to every customer. I stood in line a long time and heard it every single time.

Well maybe your Popeyes thinks that’s an effective model since so many ppl think CFA has such great customer service b/c they say “my pleasure”. My only point in mentioning it was that I know the lady at the Popeyes here was not scripted. I specifically quoted @SaintsManiac b/c she would likely know & appreciate the lady’s response. I don’t care if they say it at CFA. It doesn’t bother me, but I don’t equate it with good customer service either. Ftr, I’m not into “have a magical day” either.
