Whoa!!! Lots of snow....had the puppy out and there is definately some "freezing snow" mixed in.....

Everyone in the area stay safe...and those who have it coming their way...heads up!!!!

Dan, want to come shovel my driveway???? ::yes:: :teeth:

I know!!! I'm in the city close to the lake. They say we may get even more tomorrow from lake effect snow!!

Luckily I have a garage space with my apartment. No shoveling out a spot and then fighting to the death for it!!! :rockband:

We have about 2" of snow in NW Indiana right now and it is approx. 8:30pm. If we have this much already - I don't even want to think about what we will have in the morning.

Babar!!! We are "neighbors". I work downtown near Sears Tower. I know how "lake effect" snow can cause a ton of trouble. Hope you can stay in safe and warm tomorrow.

I personally don't live in Chicago, but my older brother does, and I had a feeling Chicago was going to get hit pretty hard when I turned on the Weather Channel and saw Jim Cantore stationed at Shedd Aquarium!! :guilty:

So, yes I do feel for you Chicagoans!!! :sad2: :scared1: :sad1:

I know I posted that on another thread. You know you are in trouble with Jim Cantore hits town!

Did our grocery shopping tonight so we don't have to go out tomorrow!

My DH was there with work this week, was very happy to go home today ahead of the storm.

I'm in Bensenville, near O'hare and let me tell you there is about 5 in of snow on the ground and it is starting to get really really bad. I went out to shovel so I wouldn't have so much of it in the Morning. It is heavy.
Oh well stay safe everyone.

I just got home.....I was out with a friend and my normal 12 minute ride home was close to an hour. No lanes to be seen on 83, 290, the Elgin O'Hare or any of the side streets. If I had at least won something playing bingo it would have been worth it, lol.

threads like these reinforce my decision to say bye-bye to IL. it was 75 here today. at least you have the weekend to dig out.

Not letting up for one second here...snow is getting deep..

I predict there will be more than "expected" by morning...

Can I move in with you??????

That IS serious when he shows up..... :scared:

Dan still hasn't shown up to plow my driveway..... :teleport:

Safe and warm Marilyn!!!!

We're going to slammed with it tomorrow night, so I am relying on you to tell me how bad it's really going to be....

It does look so pretty right now !!! all white and clean and untouched !! :flower1:

OK - I expect to see some pictures tomorrow! I have to drive at least 3 hours to see snow - & I hate to drive in the snow - so I haven't seen any this winter.

Short-lived tho, isn't it? :(

DS tried to come home about 10:30 tonight, but was 'driven' back to his friend's house by terrible visibility. It looked to be about 6" already, about that time. I live near O'Hare airport/Niles/Park Ridge. DH works for the City of Park Ridge, and is sleeping now, because he'll be called next, when this shift is done plowing/salting.

Well, lots of laundry will get done this weekend.

Stay safe everyone! :grouphug:

Well...can't tell how much we got yet, but I had some trouble opening the storm door to the deck when I let the dogs out this morning! DS is getting ready for Jazz Fest--hope he makes it to school safely!

In eastern Pa and I think we are going to be in trouble also. Last night they were predicting 8-12 inches. This morning I noticed they removed the amt of snow just blizzard conditions. They moved us into the deep purple color on the map (12+ inches). Lordy Lordy. Okay wait weather channel now said 11-17 inches. :earseek: It keeps increasing every time I watch. Just east of us they are saying 12-20 inches. Oh help.

They just said that o'hare got about 7.4 inches of snow. So far but that we will get that blasted lake effect later today through tonight. About 1-3 more inches expected.
They are still screaming about how bad it is going to be for those on the east coast. Be careful and stay safe.
Well, I've had my coffee, time to go start to shovel out the driveway.

Morning!!

Debbie, I am estimating we have about 7 inches or so, and radar shows another small band of snow headed our way.

KimRaye, you are further north than me and usually get more than we do.

But, we are very lucky...we have a neighbor who got our snowblower yesterday, and our driveway is already cleared, as is his and another neighbors. What a guy!!! :D
