Chicago is getting hit hard now...

Marilyn, Kim and all in the area, stay safe!!! The same storm hit us over night. I just looked out the window and we are totally covered. No clue how much yet or if we are "done" for the day or not.

Enjoy the beauty of it while you can :)

Just shoveled the front porch, back patio (saving the driveway for Vince), maybe 8-10 inches here. Nice and brisk out, almost no wind, thankfully. News is main streets are mostly just wet (thanks to Marty and guys/gals like him). Good it started last night, mostly after rush time.

Chicago area folks (or anybody), don't forget the Chicago DIS meet coming up in 2 weeks, we can trade snow stories, LOL.....

(always looking for a way to plug it, LOL) :sunny:

My husband just came in from a drive outside. The main streets here are still snowcovered. He says "it's not good". My son made it to school fine. He has a CRV with all wheel drive, so that helps. We have about 10 inches and it's coming down again.

Elaine, you stay safe too...and warm!!!

The only place I am going is out in the yard with the puppy...she loves the snow!!!

It is snowing here again for about the past hour.

I am more worried about the DISers out east!!! :scared1:

We got around 8 inches. We're supposed to get more snow during the day today though.

Here in Lake Villa it looks as if we got about 10 inches. Right now though it is still snowing heavily so I am sure we will get a few inches more.

Hi Marilyn!!!

We have maybe 4 inches so far, and it is still snowing. Might get as much as a foot of snow. :earseek:

Hi Sherry!!! :grouphug: :D

Wow. You are getting it too? Stay safe and warm. I'll bet the boys will love it though!!!

In Lake county, near Gurnee, we are very close to the WI line. It is still snowing heavily here.

Hi Marilyn :) Stay safe everyone. Wish I could take a little (key phrase being: A LITTLE :p ) of the snow for you.

I was out earlier and had at lease 10" where it hadnt drifted, and now its snowing heavey again! Im glad I dont have to go anywhere until Monday. I have drifts in the yard and against the garage over my knees. Just hope I have enough gas for the snow blower. Think Ill just put on a WDW CD and think of florida, lol.

I'm in Northeast MA,about 6 miles from the coast and you guys are gettin' me so revved about the storm! I really enjoy New England weather, all of it.
So,PLEASE,keep bumping this thread up with updates!!

Ok, I lied. DH just came in from clearing the driveway and he said it is closer to 12 inches. The biggest problem I see here though is the blowing. We keep having these huge gusts that blow the snow back where you just cleared it from!

Or, in my case, right back into my face! :earseek: I wasn't cold out there at all, and I spent about 1 hour and 15 minutes snow-blowing the sidewalks and alley. It is deeper than they say because of the drifting and blowing. :tilt: DS still isn't home yet. I may have to venture out and pick him up. :( DDs brownie meeting was cancelled this morning. Thank goodness.

Stay safe everyone!

I am in Naperville...west of the City...only about 6" here....actually quite the letdown for the kids. What a difference 15-20 miles makes around here. This amount of snow is just plain irritating....enough to take time out of your day to have to shovel, but not really enough to "play" in. Oh well, we still have our consistently gray skies...you can ALWAYS count on that!

My daughter Jen lives in "Wrigleyville". She says she thinks there's about 8 inches but she hasn't been out yet so isn't sure. She said parking is crazed in her area because of the snow plows.
