Chicago Cubs fans - Rebuilding Year 2023

The fun, the joy, the excitement, you captured it all with this......it starts again tonight, IT'S HERE ROBIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

After posting that photo from WGN, I am reminded that WGN is one of the main reasons the Cubs are beloved all over the United States. In the years before cable WGN negotiated with other markets to carry the Cubs and and in the early days of cable TV WGN broadcast the games all over the country. I found it more sad when WGN decided not to broadcast games over the radio. Because of the tremendous signal strength of WGN I was able to listen to the games all the way up in Wisconsin on my regular car radio. The new station isn't powerful enough. I'm still able to listen to the games, but I have to pay for MLB At Bat and then I need to stream the game to my car.

I'm pretty sure WGN is just as bummed that they went with that "other" team instead of staying true to the Blue...all that green they lost . The new courtyard Jumbo Tron would be beyond awesome , if not for all these broadcast contracts preventing it being used for actual games. However, all the Cub movies, highlights, World Series games will be shown on it, you can bet on that! Yes, MLB is a lifeline for sure...but I have to say, I am not thrilled that ESPN finagled tonight's game (and even forced the schedule change to tonight)..Just not right having the first game without Len/JD or any Cub announcer. Well,,,off to choose my Cubs shirt and hope it's a lucky one!

I don't know ... there were a few lows but they were okay. We would have won if Javy had not missed the double play because of the white MLB At Bat ad behind the plate.

I think the Ump was also in the way~bad combo but that's baseball. I was hoping Almora Jr. was going to come in instead of Jay, to make the Game 7 guys complete. Also would have rather seen Szczur than LaStella . Lester did great and defense as well.

Cubs defense caused STL to leave 10 stranded~ not exactly an awful effort. STL acted like they just won the WS after the game lol...pretty sure they were sweating it..and , as you saw by us tying it, they should have been.

OK, so am I the only one who raised an eyebrow at Dexter's slide into second when Addie got him out? His right right foot, dude...Joe took the high road not challenging that but if Addie had been hurt

Offense was brutal. Kyle is the only one who brought his bat to the game. Bryant? Did Bryant put in any work at all in the offseason or did he think he was Babe Ruth because he won MVP last year?
