The AL game went into the 11th last night with the BlueJay's winning (so hard to see a team lose after a game like that)so they play the Texas Ranger's Thursday.

Don't worry, we'll take care of the Giants.

Bumgarner is an automatic loss in G3 if he pitches like he did tonight. So then we've got to win 3 out of 4 and the Giants pitchers are no slouches. Cueto and Shark. Also Hendricks worries me with his inexperience. The stage might be too much for him, especially if (God Forbid), Lester drops G1.

So up until the top of the 9th...did you think the Mets were going to automatically lose since Bum was pitching? Looked pretty even to me. If the whole game was hinged to a pitcher I would think it would have been pinned on Familia...for giving up the homer, right? I saw Lackey beat the Giants in Sept and he's our #4...Hendricks will go up against Zmardja(sp) and Jake against Bum...to me the biggest thing will be our guys being patient, not swing at crap and not get flustered. Obv the Giants have been in this situation before and will remain calm throughout...maybe...I saw some unraveling happening tonight and frustration before that homer.
LETS GO CUBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was only even because the Mets had Synd going. But even so, Bum was still pitching the better game by far (based on pitch count). Bum was just dealing and he's historically the greatest playoff pitcher ever!

fair enough but you need runs to win and our pitching was .194 against the Giants this year. We won overall 4-3 this season. To me/ Great match up...Mutts swung to soon too early allowing Bum to have that low count

We'll be fine. I completely disagree with you about an "automatic loss". Those words are not in the Cubs vocabulary this season. We have good pitching and we have a strong bullpen and we have one of the best closers in the majors. Our batters score runs, sometimes in the clutch just like tonight. #WeDontSuckAnymore

I get it. You're worried. You wouldn't be a real Cubs fan if you were not. As I sat on the couch tonight watching the Giants/Mets game I turned to my DD and said "This will be the last game of the season you see me watch sitting down." I get nervous and I pace. I just might charge up my fitbit for Friday's game, LOL.

games 1&2..Giants said they were just here. I guarantee the Fan's will make this visit a bit more memorable.

I am worried. Not about the Cubbies but about everyone walking around like the WS win is automatic. That scares the absolute begeezus out of me.

I know. I was at the Bartman game. I was up on my feet literally counting outs to the WS.

That being said, I've had season tickets since 1988 and this team is the best Cubs team I have ever seen. I'm relying on Joe Maddon to keep the team calm and on an even keel. By this point, they are used to his weird tricks that are usually only used in the Post Season. If he makes a weird substitute or line-up change they will just roll with it.

around me no one is crazy enough to think automatic...but the word "can't" is just a huge no no. Whatever the outcome I like the match up. I have enjoyed every game this season and lived in the moment and play offs in back to back seasons? No way is there anything scary to me. This team is young and going places. Hey, we had back to back WS appearances too in '07/'08 (just happened to be 100 years ago :D) Paco..would you be this freaked out if we were playing the Mutt's? I think even MORE people would be assuming WS if they were out opponent. Baseball is one crazy unpredictable sport...you just have to enjoy the ride. If I had to pin point an area of concern I have, I'm going with the home plate Ump.Too many games for multiple teams have been altered by crap calls.

No I was praying for the Mets. All their stud pitchers are hurt except Noah. Hell they would have put Colon in G1 and Cubs would have torn him a new one at Wrigley.
