OK, lets play who is on the playoff roster. The rules changed recently so we can chose 25 from the 40 man and thanks to Hammel's outing today, Joe's job is a little easier. Round one is 3 out of 5 so you know you can throw your best pitchers out there one after another. The rest are best of 7 so the pitching rotation because more important though with off days I can see Joe having a 4 man roster at this point. I did hear a rumor that Maddon was considering having a simulated game in the 4 day period the Cubs will be idle, good idea IMHO. Being a life long Cubs fan I find myself vacillating between glee and gloom...lol

You need Montgomery and Hammel in case a starter gets hurt or has a bad night because they can give you innings. It is unusual to carry three catchers but Contreras can play the outfield and pinch hit so that gives him value. Thoughts?

well I agree with most but in position players I pull Szczur for Coghlan. Lefty at bat and he's been doing great ever since the Clinch celebration lol. Luckily Joe can change for each Play off series. I am not a huge fan of Joe Smith but Joe does like him...but Cahill will prob get the spot. This will be Addison's first experience, as he was hurt last season. I would like to see Almora Jr be along somehow....but no room

lol...I mentioned to a friend last month that whatever Theo says, Tom's answer better be YES. Once you become a Bleacher Bum...there's no turning back lol. The official announcement was supposed to be Sunday but after learning of Jose Fernandez accident they held off. Thrilled we have the trio intact as I know the Twin's were courting Jason. I really hope they held a little $ to convince Bosio stays on as well (pitching coach). He will be getting offers like crazy,,,and Dexter a free agent (tho you can see Almora Jr. being groomed for that )and then the Chapman scene.
On the stressful side..Cog's ankle sprain last night rough. He is on fire and we really need that left bat and he has had some great defensive plays (more hustle than Soler IMHO, who didn't travel to Pitt but will be ready for the Reds series) I think Cog's would have been on the Play Off roster and hopefully still will. Word is "day to day".
Also as you might guess the scouts have been out in force trying to get a sneak at our lineups etc..so Joe keeping everyone on their toes with changes etc. Bosio calls it using different bait on the hook while running it around the lake, lol. This team, from top to bottom is just awesome.

That's the most likely rotation. Plus keeps Lester and Kyle rested for the NLCS When Lester pitches KB is in LF so that helps Cog's chances by getting one more day to recover. Szczur has his moments but he just doesn't make things happen like Cog's. Don't get me wrong, staying calm and focused is also huge but for the here and now, I think even LaStella would go before Szczur, his lefty bat giving him the edge.
