If the Cubs don't make it to the NLCS, I would be very happy for the Brewers to be there. Living in Wisconsin, I obviously have a lot of friends who are Brewers fans. I sometime get good-natured flack from strangers when I wear my Cubs stuff around town. It's all pretty friendly. Most people I talk with don't really care about the Brewers even if they do go all the way..view it as Cubs lost, Brewers didn't win kind thing. Maybe that's what's irking them? They want a rivalry of Cub/Card proportion? Got quite a few more years of play off level baseball to play to get to that level, IMHO.
See, I am all for any fan who is sincere about their team, but one's who are more Cub Hater's than _(whatever team)_______ supporter's are toxic to their fan base. The Dad I spoke of, that's his point,,his own fan base is annoying the crud out of him obsessing about the Cubs, matter of fact he joked about bad juju coming from it and guess what? Today Lorenzo Cain was put on the DL. Coincidence? Probably, but I sure wouldn't ignore that timing, lol.If the Cubs don't make it to the NLCS, I would be very happy for the Brewers to be there. I think it's natural to be a "hater" when you feel there is some rivalry. How many time have we celebrated losses of other teams here? The smack-downs of the Cards? The White Sox losing? The Cubs have a target on their backs and the Brewers fans are celebrating the wins of their team and our losses. I really don't see a difference between them and us.See, I am all for any fan who is sincere about their team, but one's who are more Cub Hater's than _(whatever team)_______ supporter's are toxic to their fan base. he spoke of reddit(very moderated) and the Brewer twitter pages, very general . I am unsure of any FB one's as he did not mention those to us. He lives in IL so relies on social media for a better volume of fans than around him locally, not too many. I see posts against the Cards, absolutely, but generally Cub forums are not having more threads about 1 specific other team than our own. Maybe I am on more positive ones as well and don't even realize itI think it's natural to be a "hater" when you feel there is some rivalry. I do think that nasty memes can be toxic. I belong to one FB group that allows a lot of negative talk and some nasty memes and another that does not. I hang out in the more positive group. Maybe your son's GF's father needs to find a positive place to talk baseball.
I love watching Javy play baseball. He has so much love for the game and just wants to win all the time. I don't see that in all the players.the losing streak is OVAH!Javy,,you magical ballplayer! He has now homered in every spot in the batting order and that Grand Slam was literally life brought back into the team! So happy we put up those runs in the 6th so Lester got the W! He pitched ANOTHER gem!
R? I said the Dodger's got the run but we got the new GIF, lolSo is Happ trying out for Cirque du Soleil with his tumbling act?
Holy Cow! Bosio has been fired by the Tigers.
https://www.cubshq.com/update/Former-Cubs-coach-fired-for-insensitive-comments-25002
The Detriot Tigers have fired pitching coach Chris Bosio on Wednesday for 'insensitive comments' that violated team policy.
The team released the following statement:
“Effective immediately, the Detroit Tigers have terminated the contract of pitching coach Chris Bosio for his insensitive comments that violated Club policy and his Uniform Employee Contract. The organization holds all of our personnel to the highest standards of personal conduct both on and off the field. We have zero tolerance for this type of behavior. The Club will have no further comment on this matter.”
I have no clue what he said. I'm trying to find it now. I was just missing him today. Chili Davis has been great as a hitting coach, but Jim Hickey has not been as effective.
I didn’t think he would make that kind of comment . I’m sad because I liked him.from what I understand it was a racial comment about staff or personnel, I don't think it was a player but I heard the story on 670 wih extremely limited info
