Chicago Cubs fans - Rebuilding Year 2023

I just want to say ... the Cubs are still World Champions!!!
Well *technically*, they will ALWAYS be World Champs, can't ever take that away. Now "Reigning" World Champs, will end almost a year to the date. I shall savor every minute. Had one of my Cubs WS Championship shirts on today and will wear another tomorrow :thumbsup2 I wonder how the team is feeling about it all :scratchin motivated, maybe?

so apparently the Dodger 6th inning is basically what decides the game when they play at home ~ Darvish to pitch but I imagine Kershaw will as well. The announcers said last night this is the first W.S. game 7 to ever be played in L.A. which is cool, but the Cubs coming back and taking it from the Indians at their home field still beats this series for me. Biased? SURE, lol..like Robin said, last day, enjoy it gang~but hopefully we will be the Defending Champs again in no time. We sort of broke the Giant's pattern of winning every other even year, next year is an even one and I'm good with taking over the job for them lol.

I also think our parade /celebration will be tough to beat. That day was absolutely perfect and the lake, trees changing color, river Cubbie Blue~ Both L.A. and Houston will have wonderful parades etc, but hat's off to either of them if they capture what Chicago did that day.

Although the entire post was good...my favorite out of all you posted...

Considering how long we waited and how long some folks older than we are waited, that it happened in 2016 is way more important to me than who happens to win this year. Did I want us to repeat in 2017? You're darned tootin', but nothing, absolutely nothing can ever take away the joy of being World Champions in 2016!

I don't think any engineer will ever be able to design a roller coaster as good as game 7!! To be so ecstatic one minute and horribly disappointed the next an only be the roller coaster names 2016 WS game 7. Never to be repeated although many may try to copy it. ;)

Especially when you take into consideration the Cubs came back rom 3-1 and then won it on the road! I have to give credit where due as well, with Francona/Joe going to relievers early..(and more so to Francona~he managed what he had brilliantly) and this series you see 2 teams re-doing it, which takes away from the "better game" aspect. I think the connection the Cubs had, they guys almost reading each other's minds, all so young was the better talent pool too.

My Dad used to tell his guys after a tough loss to be happy they were the one's getting to learn and use that power to get the next game, and if not? They got to experience that loss which is partof still being in the game~ and not those who didn't get that far. I just sort of shortened it a little, lol.

Before Houston or the Dodgers get their moment tonight...I had to watch one of my favorite video compilation's.(except I wish it had Miggy's grand slam in it)
I hope like heck that the fun and enjoyment the team had in '16 finds its way back to them.

(pay no attention to the promo at the end...a buzzkill actually)

and You're welcome, Dodger's...for beating you bad enough last season that you re-built half your team and used the DL to rest your pitching all year so you could have a shot at what the Cubs accomplished last year. See you in '18

Congratulation's to the Astro's!This is terrific for their city and fan's. The Announcers could have shown a smidge of excitement for them~if it was the Dodger's they would have been falling all over themselves all game.

Guess Tommy LaSorda ws right when he told Robert's last night that he hasn't done sh*% until he wins tonight
