Chicago Cubs fans - Rebuilding Year 2023

Off topic - apologies:
FINFAN - Your opinion on Cutler? I think he will do good for a while - but in the end will have the same annoying "don't care" attitude. I've long suspected that's medical - his way to deal with his diabetes. Can't get too high or low. Has his blood sugar checked MULTIPLE times every game. The man is an EXCELLENT husband and father (well, except for the anti-vax thing) and I admire him for that. I'd rather him than a guy like Favre who sends pictures of his "junk" to bimbos while his wife is recovering from breast cancer.

I'm feeling a whole lot better this am. I sense a strong 5-game finish coming to this homestand...

I think Cutler will look like a new Q compared to his time w/the Bears, but that won't take too much, lol. His personal comfort level will be greatly improved, letting him be relaxed back under Gates, who I also think is tickeld pink. Those two have a great connection. I also think he is gong to use his chip on his shoulder as momentum. If he can avoid stupid injuries, (which I am skeptical) and NOT tick off his receiver's with his whiney on field persona, I think he will do as well as Tannehill would have. He is prob going to benefit most from Irma's postponement..him getting another week was pretty huge IMHO . As a fan, I am hopng for play-off's again (if the Fin's stay healthy)

I mean, look how Ditka has changed since leaving the Bear's :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I am wearing my Cub's Millenium Falcon shirt today...my mind went immediately to Star Wars when I read "sense a strong" lol. Lester has to just do his thing tonight.

Cubs can go 9-9 ~STL has to go 12-18. Not out of range for STL, but lets hope it looms large over them. We face Martinez and Wacha in first 2 STL games. Joe might want both Jay and AAJ's bats in against Wacha somehow.

I just got the post season ticket lottery email. $50 just to put my name in!!! I know it is refundable but they hold it until post season is over. Tickets are already incredibly expensive and I love my Cubbies but this feels like a bit of a money grab to me.

Think if it as the Otani fund :rolleyes1

Throws righty, bats lefty, and he would look Fab in Cubbie Blue . I can already see Otani on the jersey, and no offense to Fukedome, but the #1 would be appropriate...but I'm good with him keeping his #11. Mallee would GLADLY give up his jersey, lol.Yu Darvish WAS #11, now wearing #21. I hope that isn't a sign that he goes to L.A.(barf)

Headed off to the game. I'm not a bog Favre fan, but I'd take him anyday over Cutler *shudder*. In the spirit of full disclosure, I'm a Packer's fan.

As a QB - obviously. as a human being - sorry, he doesn't "measure up" (so to speak).

all in good nature - as my uncle always said: hate the team, respect the rivalry.

With all due respect to the reason why....the Brewers catch a HUGE break, again. Pretty sure the Boo-hooer's won't be whining about this change. Time for them to open/close their roof placement to affect Stanton's HR chances. Brewers record much higher at homevs road, while Marlin's record higher home vs road. New Maddon T-shirt idea?
Embrace the Conspiracy

All salt aside, I don't get why this isn't being played at a neutral site...Busch Stadium comes to mind. Maybe it isn't available but MLB has to know this isn't exactly fair.

STL pitching rotation: No Jake
Lackey vs Martinez
Hendricks vs Wacha
Q vs Lynn

Addie hitting the cages/running bases but no new time table offered up

Koji threw sim game, dealing with his knee infection. We all hoped Wilson would let Koji's 42 year old body get some rest..but as of yet, that doesn't look too promising.

UPDATE: Jen-Ho Tseng will start this Thursday against the Mutt's , Monty will be in the pen

I don't understand why the games are not in neutral territory. This is a big advantage for the Brew Crew. They should have taken place somewhere else.

Omg! I just met Wayne Messmer in The Park, shook hands with him and got my picture taken with him!

I touched a World Series ring!!!

Wheeeeeeeeee!

CONTRERAS, what the hell are you doing young man????????????? If anyone defends Contreras on that play I am going to lose my mind.
