Thanks slo. :goodvibes

I did stay home. When I woke up this morning, I started coughing a lot, so I decided I should give it another day. I'm going to start doing my work in a little while.

All I've felt like drinking since I got sick was cran-raspberry juice, and I've had over a half gallon of it since Monday. :rotfl:

I'm listening to Ryan Seacrest, and this woman called in saying that she had lost her yorkie, and they've got all of Riverside, CA, looking for her. :dog:

leigh, hope you are starting to feel better.
pixie dust being sent to you.......

:surfweb:

How are you doing with your holiday shopping?
I'm kicking butt and taking names :teeth: I'm almost done with everyone :thumbsup2 I'm waiting, and hoping, that American Girl Store will have free shipping again so I can order Stephanie's presents, but if I don't get that within a week or so, than I'm just going to order everything.

Time to run, and get some vaccuuming done before I go to work.
Have a good day

Hey Slo: I'm pretty sure that AG offered its free shipping for just a few days right after Thanksgiving. I read about it on another post here on the DIS. I missed it though too because Megan hadn't made up her mind yet. My kid is really something else, I was actually trying to talk her into getting another doll and she said, but Mom, where would I put it? No kid I have ever known has worried about where the toy would go? So, she has asked for some Nicki items, the skis, ski wear, and Christmas outfits for both of the dolls, a Bitty Stroller and Bouncy chair. I tried like heck to talk her into Julie, but she didn't seem interested. I thought maybe she'd pick Kit, but no. So, maybe if I can swing it, Santa :santa: might have to bring Elizabeth to me (and her riding outfit). So, nana boo boo to you Megan!

I never get Christmas gifts anymore, so maybe I'll have to buy one for myself. When Dan sort of buys me something it's usually kind of scary, but he did do okay last year with my Bose iPod dock. But, I had to specifically ask for it, cut out a picture and practically point it out in the store. There's not a lot of fun in that. I might as well have just gone and bought it myself. He's just not good that way. He used to be, but somehow he lost the ability to think!

Slo: How is Katie's boo boo? I hope she's getting over that meany infection! They sure do seem susceptible to that bacteria. It's probably one of those things where once you get it, you are more prone to it. :sad2:

Well, getting a wee bit tired now, so I am heading off to bed.

Night night!

Hi all - I'm up super early this morning, and will be every morning from now on. I never told you guys, but Kevin got a new job :) He got a great offer from a great company up by Midway airport, and he just couldn't refuse. His other job took it really well, and he left on very good terms (his last day was yesterday). Today is his first day at his new job, and he has to leave really early to get there on time. I like to get up with him, because it's easier for him to get up, and also because I can get my day started even earlier. I excel with getting things done in the morning, and I'm pretty excited to be able to get more things now:banana:

Leigh - It's good you stayed home yesterday. How are you feeling today? I'll keep sending tons and tons of PD your way to feel better soon :wizard: :wizard:

Mac - :wave2:

Sam - Luckily, I was able to order Katie's Santa gifts with the free shipping (Bitty Twins, and outfit for each of them, a matching dress for Katie, hair care items, and little glasses for Stephanie's doll (stocking stuffer) ), and I sure wish I knew about us getting Stephanie her AG things back then. I'll hold out for a little longer, and see if it's offered again, and if it's not, then I'll just have to pay the shipping:rolleyes:
**How fun that you may have Santa bring you Elizabeth:santa:
**Those will be nice gifts for Megan!!! Is she still loving her Nikki? Stephanie is loving hers, but I get frustrated with her hair - it's so out of control!!! I'm so scared to use a pick or brush, because I don't want it to get worse. She needs a trip to AG Hair Salon:rolleyes:
**Is Megan still liking her shorter hair? How are you liking it? Is it easier for you to take care of?
**Katie's little boo boo is getting a tiny bit better - thanks for asking!!! I just keep putting Bacitracin on it, when we are home, and hope for the best.

Well, that's about it from me today
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Thanks! :goodvibes I'm back at work today. I'm feeling better today. Just coughing a lot, and only half of my words come out. :rotfl: I think it's definitely good that I stayed home yesterday. I think it helped. :thumbsup2

Ryan Seacrest just said that they found the yorkie that was missing from yesterday! :cheer2:

March On

Well, that's about it from me today
Have a good day today everyone!!!

The AG doll salon is a great idea for Nicki! Megan still loves her a lot and her hair is perfect. The AG salon restyled it, still very curly, but for some reason, the curls aren't as loose and the hair seems more "together" and not so flyaway. So, if you can take Nicki to a hair appt, it is worth it. It's $10, but it makes the hair manageable. I am taking Megan to AG on December 28th. We will be taking her Just Like Me Doll, Emily, for a hairstyle because apparently Emily is very jealous of Nicki!

However, whatever you do, don't panic because the first thing they do is comb all the curls out and it turns it into a big BOOF and it's scary looking, but then, piece by piece, they use a comb with a long straight handle and they spritz the hair and curl it around the handle. It takes quite some time, but wow, after it's done it's awesome and it stays like that pretty well. You just have to finger twist any strays right back into place!

Megan needs a hair cut herself! She likes her hair shorter, but it needs a trim already. Grows like a weed!! Her appt. is tomorrow, early before the snow flies hopefully!

Congratulations to Kevin!! Nothing like a new job to stimulate the old brain cells! And it's nice that he didn't burn a bridge with his old company either. Seems like 2008, will be a very good year and the SLO household! :cloud9:

I'm up earlier today, because I have to take Stephanie to Santas Secret Workshop at her school before I go to work today. This program is really fun, because it allows children to pick out very inexpensive gifts for their family all by themselves. It's always interesting to see what she picks for each person - I wonder what I'm going to get this year :scratchin

Leigh - I"m glad you are feeling better :goodvibes If you can stay in all weekend and just chill out, you'll probably be even better on Monday.

Michael - Hi there, and good to see you!!! :wave2: How's the new baby? I bet you are getting excited about your trip :cool1: I think it's fun how the kids don't know about WDW. I could never do it though - I don't have that much self control

Sam - Thanks for the congrats to Kevin :goodvibes He had a a very overwhelming first day, and the drive was a huge adjustment, but he'll do okay. He's one of the smartest people I know, and if anyone can do this new job, he can :)
**Thanks for letting me know about the AG Salon for Nikki - we'll definitly have to try that. I forgot to tell you, that Stephanie put these tiny little rubberbands in Nikki's hair:eek: These are rubberbands that I use at the end of their (the girls) braids, and she put them all the way to Nikkis scalp:eek: I told her not to touch them, and I'm going to have to very carefully cut them out. She's trying so hard to learn how to do different hair styles, which is fine, but she doesn't understand what to use and not to use, and those rubberbands are a HUGE do not use:rolleyes:

Well, I"m off to the shower
Have a good day today everyone!!!!

Hope everyone is staying in tonight and not driving. I was out earlier boy was it icy. I rented Hairspray so we are going be parking on the couch.

not going out tonight either... This morning, Dh and I went to pick up the elliptical, he is putting it together this evening, Eric had a wrestling meet all afternoon, e was supposed to have a party tonight but I guess that it was canceled. Good thing 'casue he is skiing at Chestneut tomorrow, so he has to leave erly in the morning. I ran to SAMs, Walmart, Jewel and Dominicks - I had NO food in the house.. even the cat was complaining..
now I am supposed to be writing the Holiday letter but thought I'd stop by and say hi..

Quick fly by...

Hope everyone is doing ok with the storm.

Geffric- Eric is going to Chestnut Mountain tomorrow?
I PM'd you recently.

I hope everyone is safe this evening. We were to have play practice at church but it was cancelled. I'm really glad. I just wanted to stay put tonight. Also, DD has tons of homework to make up so this just gave her more time.

I'm excited though because the kid's 2008-2009 school calendar is now posted. I want to try and get to Disney in 2009 but the first thing was to get their calendar. I knew it would be coming up soon because I knew it was on the board meeting agendas.

They get out May 29 next year so I'm :cheer2: because if all goes well with no snow days that would mean we could be there for my birthday. Now it's just a matter of "Is DH coming with or not? and if not...what's the alternate plan?" My hunch is he will end up coming with us -- and be Grumpy all the way but he'll still come. He's weird like that. :lmao:

It was a good day with getting lots of dates & things I need to plan my life (around my DD's that is!). DD got her gymnastics meet schedule & things were looking good with no conflict with park district cheer meets -- until we made it to cheer. They changed the state meet, so now they are both on the same day. Not good.

At least her first meet isn't until Feb. for gymnastics so no issues with my HSM on Ice date.

Good thing I had a movie to watch last night. Our satelite keep losing it's signal from all the ice. The movie was disappointing I rented the wrong version of Hairspray. I hate when I do that, I always rushed.

Today is a clean the house day and try and get some decorations up before Christmas ;) Run to the store to is in order since I just worked and came straight home yesterday.

Ok off to start the laundry since the cats still will only drag the laundry so far but not to the washer machine:confused3

*What a yucky night last night!!!!
*I had a Chamber of Commerce event last night at 6pm that we all went to, and I couldn't believe all the ice - it was crazy!!! We were home by 8pm, and my friend came over with her DD so we could all watch The Polar Express. I felt so bad for her when it was time to go home - not a good night to drive :sad2:
*The FD had a very challenging night last night. Kevin had so many calls, and at one point, they couldn't get the one rescue truck up a hill because of the ice - unbelievable:eek: !! I'm sure they are very glad to see the ice go today.

HERSEY - I'm sorry you rented the wrong movie last night :guilty: I still haven't seen the John Travolta Hairspray yet, but Stephanie has, and she loves it!!

geffric - I can hardly wait to hear about your eliptical. I hope you like it!!!

Rose - :wave2:

Becky - That's great that all the schedules are working out :thumbsup2 We have HSM on Ice tickets too - I'm excited about seeing it. The girls don't know yet, and they'll be so excited when I finally tell them :yay:

Well, I gotta run and get going - so much to do today!!
Have a good day everyone!!

Another quick fly by.....

Slo- glad you all got home ok last night.

Rmom50- If you're lurking, I PM'd you recently :)

Hi to all

Slo That is the version of Hairspray I thought I rented.

Well the downstairs is all clean and Alex put up the tree and I'm pooped. Of course I had to rearrang the furniture and clean everything first.

It's turning out to be a very rainy day. Well I need to get back to cleaning/ decorating or it won't get done.

Hi.. I am avoiding making dinner.. so I thought I's stop by..:rotfl2:

Just finishing laundry. ran some errands in the rain.. fixed chicken for the rest of the week..froze some and got some ready for tomorrow..

Hersey - my cat won't even find the laundry, much less point it out to me.. she is mad anyway, cause I won't give her any of the raw chicken..

Leigh - I"m glad you are feeling better

Mac - how are things???

Gotta go, washer just stopped..

went to church this morning and covered all your backs.

going back tonight in about five minutes.

we went out to eat and drove on the icy streets last night.

bored kids to tears with his brand new EPCOT Center, the "Experimental
Prototype Community of Tomorrow." (TVKirby sez - The segment is the
second one after the commercial break at 40 minutes in. As expected,
they spend a huge TWO minutes with the VH1 celebrities that call it
both Fantastic and Boring. Wil Wheaton proclaims it "Everything that
Geeks Love". They show scenes from opening day. There is a shot of
Dreamfinder and Figment. Commentary on World Showcase concentrates on
the availability of alcohol. Lots of "It looks like a big golf ball"
references to Spaceship Earth combined with a graphic of a giant golf
club hitting it. It was about what you would expect from VH1. Worth
recording for the footage.)
