Wii update - Kevin didn't get it  He said the place was so packed that he could barely get into the door. This is not a good way for me to start out my day - this is what Stephanie is asking Santa for:santa: I guess the finding of the Wii, will have to be continued..............

good black friday chicagoland homies...

i didn't venture out at 4 this morning.
i figured it was too cold and i was too tired.

besides, i'll just pay full price for what i need to get.......

today sounds like a pizza day to me.

hope you all have a great 3 day weekend.

Slo ~ I hope you are able to get a Wii before Christmas. Did they have a special on it or is it still that "hot" of an item??

As for work, at least it is work related and I am getting paid. Not nearly the number of hours I would be getting, but some is better than nothing.

Becky ~ I think we will only get the family membership, and my sister said that comes with four passes. She also told me about how fast the tickets went, so I will try and get there when they open. Now that they have made the Omnimax free for all membership levels, I think it is the best way to go even if we did not go to Star Wars.

Good morning all-

Slo- Re:Enchanted- I did see little kids at the movie theater yesterday. I'm guessing the movie is ok for Katie, tho there is a small gross part(bugs) in the middle of the movie. It is a brief scene. And near the end of the movie might be a little frightening for her, but the majority should be fine :)
I don't want to give out any spoilers ;)
Oh, any of you McDreamy (Patrick Dempsey)fans will really like this movie :woohoo:
* sorry to hear Kevin couldn't get the Wii yet :guilty:
It is still a very popular item. My kids won't probably get it this yr for Christmas, as it's too hard to find. My kids actually play a few minutes of the Wii at church, before children's church starts. They have video games in the church for the kids to play, before service starts. so they get their chance to play on it with the other kids. My kids still play Gamecube at home.

Piglet- hope your knee gets better :wizard:

Becky- sounds like your family had a good time at the Star Wars exhibit :thumbsup2

Rmom50- nice to see you here!

Hi to all and have a good rest of the weekend :)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

I am out of work per drs orders until at least Dec 18th. I am starting to get a bit stir-crazy and wish my knee would heal faster than it is.

I hope your knee feels better soon.

Watch the ads when you see a WII you have to be at the store when it opens. My gamestop told me for some reason Target seems to get a regular supply:confused3. The gamestop by me must have gotten tired of me asking when and they told me when to call ;) Hope you have good luck.

We did pretty well shopping yesterday. The only long lines were at Toys R Us we were in line for 45 minutes but I got the kids done.:woohoo: We were able to knock off 3/4 of my list .:thumbsup2 in just 3 hours those trips to WDW have paid off I can now comando shop. :rotfl:

Today we are just staying home, we have a birthday party later.

:surfweb:

Mac - Yesterday was a pizza day for us to last night :thumbsup2

piglet - It's still a very hot item for Christmas. I didn't realize this many people loved this thing:rolleyes:

Rose - Thanks for letting me know about Enchanted:)

Joe - I couldn't agree more!!!! :goodvibes

HERSEY - Thanks for letting me know about the Wii, but I've decided not to get it. I didn't know until yesterday, after Kevin came home, how much these things are:eek: I thought the system was about $275, and they are approx $550  (I must have living under a rock or something, to not know this  ) When you start getting some games with it, this will be around a $700 present:scared1: It makes the things Stephanie wants from AG Store sound dirt cheap, so that is what Santa is going to bring ::yes:: :thumbsup2
**I"m glad you had a successful shopping venture yesterday

Well, I gotta run and jump in the shower. I'm not going to work today, but I told my employee that if she needed me, that I would be ready for work in case she needs me to come in. So I guess you could say I'm on call :teeth:

Have a good day today!!

:lmao: We had to go with PhD since we have 6 in the family! It's just one of those the price you have to pay for having a larger family. We get free parking that way too. I would love to go the the PhD breakfast but we never seem to manage it. We didn't last time we had this membership either. That's how it goes. This year we didn't even get to any member night things.

You can call ahead of time and reserve your tickets, unless you plan on getting a membership that day and then using the vouchers the same day (I've never done that so don't know how it works) -- I suggest getting there BEFORE the musuem opens then. I don't know what time they allow you in the Great Hall to start getting tickets but my guess is they would allow you to line up & stuff before 9:30 and just not allow you up the stairs to the actual exhibits and things until opening time.

We ventured out yesterday. DD wants an IPOD so bad but we just can't afford that, so I got her a generic type version that was on sale at Menards. I hope it works OK. I'm not so convinced it's really going to work as well as she would like or that she will even like it but it was $20, so it will have to do. Maybe in a couple more years we can get her the real deal. The funny thing is the one she really wants is an older IPOD. She doesn't want one with video and doesn't like the shape of the new ones but even the old refurbished ones are out of our price range at the moment. I also found my little guy something. So the only one who doesn't have a Santa gift is DS-7 and I'm just waiting for something to call my name for him since he has only asked for Yu-gi-oh, Pokemon, Neopets or Digimon cards. None of which seem all that fantastic to get him as a Santa gift.

Tonight we have to brave the elements and go to St. Charles version of the Electrical Parade. :lmao: :lmao: It's the Miracle on 64th street electrical parade. Everytime I see it, I think they are trying to copy Disney. I've never actually gone (just seen bits & pieces) and see the parade but DD will be in it this year, so I have to brave the crowds to find a parking spot to drop her off, then move the car to find a parking spot near the end of the parade route. Her group will be toward the latter half of the parade so it's going to be interesting. Since I'm not quite as familar with this one as I am the Swedish day parade -- I don't know all the good hidden/best way to deal with parking/traffic stuff on this one. Can you tell I'm not a big crowd person? Plus it will be in the dark, so I'm really not looking forward to this. I'm sure I'll figure something out (we have our cell phones since I'm not even 100% sure where to meet them at the end of the parade route & being in the dark is not going to help matters!).

Slo That price must have been for a "'bundle" (with games). The actual system is not that much. I could never spend that much.

Thanks for the link but that's for a shuffle. That's the specific one she *doesn't* want because you can't change the order or anything on the songs. :lmao: That would have been in our price range. I've seen them for $179.99 for the IPOD classic refurbished but that's more than I want to spend for 1 child when there are 3 others in the house. I had told her *IF* we get her a real IPOD then that would be it. I swear one day I saw them for $79.99 and then when I went back it said $179.99 -- so I don't know if I mis-read it or if it was a typo that the ended up fixing or I had stumbled on a good deal & didn't know it or what. She would be happy with the classic or nano, just not the shuffle (and to think a few years ago DH won a nano but we didn't hang onto it! Bummer!).

I'm sure things will work out. I do have tickets for High School Musical on Ice we are going to & I had already told her that was part of Christmas/Birthday stuff.

I'm just afraid this cheapy one we bought will break 2 minutes after she uses it or something. That's my biggest concern. :scared1: Who knows what the quality is but hopefully it be good enough.

:surfweb:

This is a quick post before I jump into the shower. We are taking the girls for very early Christmas pictures this morning - 9am :faint: I sure hope the girls smile, because I know they'll be crabby - especially Katie:eek:

The pictures should be very pretty when done. The girls are wearing a black & gold dress this year, and I'm going to have them surrounded by red poinsettias (sp?). I also have some gold poinsettias that I'm going to take with, incase we need them. I always stress over these pictures:headache: , and I never look forward to this day, but I know they'll turn out nice, so it's always worth the stress:rolleyes:

Well, I gotta run - have a good day everyone!!

Good morning!

Slo I hope the girls cooperate. I don't think I would feel like getting all dressed up for 10 minutes good luck!

Becky How was the parade in St Charles? I thought about going after you mentioned it but I never left the house yesterday. We had a lazy day it felt good since we are always on the go.

Well as usual I have to go and get the house picked up and start working so later gaters.

Hi.. just a quick fly by.. getting ready for Tday II.. my family..at least everyone brings something.. Yesterday I was in the Y to work out and they have raised the family rate to $86 per month.. you know that is a bit much.. $1032 per year.. so i am going to look for ellipticals and buy one and then canceled the Y memebership.. I had such a kick butt day yesterday!!! :woohoo:

*The girls pictures turned out great - I was very happy with them!!!! :goodvibes
*The girls saw Santa afterwards - that picture turned out great too!!!
*While at the mall we bought a couple more Christmas gifts, I got a new Razor phone (mine was literally falling apart, it was embarrassing), the girls picked out a new outfit from Childrens Place (they aren't getting it until Christmas - I"m wrapping it and putting it under the tree), and then we went out to lunch at Olive Garden.
*Then we came home, and I got the upstairs, and downstairs decorated for Christmas:santa: Now I have to put the lightup garland on the railings, and then I'm done!!!!!:yay:
*So.....I went to bed last night feeling very successful with my day!!!!

HERSEY - Thanks for the good luck - it worked!!! :goodvibes They took a total of 40 photos, and they were all so nice!!! Every year I think that I can't get better than the last years photos, and I always do!!!! :teeth:

geffric - I would love an eliptical (sp?) system, but I have no where to put one right now. As soon as the girls don't need a playroom anymore, it's going to turn into a workout room :thumbsup2 I don't have any suggesstions on which ones best, maybe someone else can help.=

It's time to go fold some laundry before I jump into the shower
Have a good day today!!!

thanks John.. I can be there but geoff has a Model UN thing and Eric may or may not be up yet..:rotfl: :confused3 .. I'll ask DH when i get home from work..
