I am suffering from the worst sinus headache! :headache:

OMG - so am I!!!!! :headache: :headache:

I woke up with it this morning, and was, and still am a little naustious (sp?) too.

I have been only nibbling food a littler here and there so I can take my 2 Sudafeds & 2 Extra Strength Tylenol. I am not trying to eat some lunch which is tomato soup and some crackers. I'm due to take some more mediciane in a 1/2 hour, and I'm hoping I can take some of the edge off, because the girls are dying to go to a local carnival tonight. I would feel bad not to take Stephanie because she studied so hard for her accelerated reader test, and passed with 100%, and then she took her spelling pretest yesterday and got a 100% on that (she studied very hard for that), so she deserves to go. I will just keep popping pills and hope that it gets tolerable.

Okay...enough complaining from me

Sam - I wanted to send some hugs to Megan   I'm sorry she isn't feeling well :guilty: I'll send tons of PD her way for her to feel better soon :wizard: :wizard:

Oh...I have one more complaint before I go - I broke my glasses today:mad: I am so mad!!!! Thank goodness I have another pair of glasses (my good set of glasses) that I can use until I get these replaced. I just hope I can get them replaced by the time we leave on vacation, because I don't have sunglass clips for my good glasses.

I have something exciting to tell you guys too....
DCL called us and upgraded our room to a room with a verandah - isn't that awesome!!!:woohoo: :yay: Having a verandah makes me nervous with the kids, but I'm not going to turn it down.

Okay...I'm going for sure now because Stephanie wants to use my computer.

Have a good rest of the day!!

Bunchkin & Slo -- sorry about the headaches :(

Slo -- Yeah about the upgrade! :thumbsup2

Anyone have an implant done for a tooth? I guess it's the new way to get a false tooth. I went to the dentist to get my tooth fixed & OOPS, once he got the old filling out of there or partially out of there, it's worse than first thought. His opinion would to just get it extracted and then since it's in a spot that you really DO need to put a tooth there or something, he suggested the new fangled implant procedure and gave me a recommendation.

I, of course, have no clue what this is but after they stuck a camera in my mouth and showed me the picture of the tooth -- which I'm like "is there anything there really?" --- pretty cool & gross at the same time to see it up on a flat screen tv. :lmao:

He said I needed to call pronto to get the consultation as I *WILL* be getting a toothache (gee nothing like the power of suggestion), as I sit here with the novicaine wearing off and me thinking "gee yeah, it does kind of hurt" but that was to be expected today -- I think he's saying later on, right now it's probably sore from being beat up. He put a temporary in & basically said if I get a toothache before the extraction appointment to call him and he can get me some relief.

I will be calling the place tomorrow to set up an appointment and find out what a pretty penny that will cost (we don't have dental insurance!).

I did come home to see if the place had a website and they have a basic one & I did find some information out but they basically knock you out for it & I've never been knocked out, so kind of scary.

Becky ~ Sorry about the tooth, that sounds like it has got to hurt.

Bunchkin & Slo ~ Hope the headaches go away soon.

Slo ~ Too bad about your glasses but what great news from DCL. I would be nervous about a verandah too, but what great views you will have.

Back from Cross Country, and Kevin finnished in 13:07 (2 mile course) knocking almost 1:30 off his previous best time.

Becky Implants are supposed to be very good. They are pretty expensive, depending on the prep work it will make WDW look cheap. I am going a different route I getting a partial call me a chicken but I don't want to go the implant route. The less time they(the Denist) is in my mouth the better.

Sorry you all are having headaches. This is the first day all week I haven't had a headache.:thumbsup2

Slo It doesn't sound like you are having a good day I hope your evening is better.

Good evening all. A quick fly by to let you know I care and that I still exist. Sorry to all the sick ones and :wizard: to make it all better.
Bunchkin, welcome home. Love the pix and the trippie so far.
Hersey, leaving soon, have a great trip!!
Becky, sorry to hear about the tooth news. Hope you get it taken care of soon.
Slo, hope you were able to get to the little carnival and that you were feeling better. Congrats to Stephanie on a great job at school this week.
Rose, belated anniversary wishes to you.
Any birthdays I missed? Happy birthday to all of them.
This PTO stuff is keeping me chasing my tail. I am dead tired and not yet done. Off to another curriculum night to try to get more unsuspecting souls drafted in (oh, volunteers).:rolleyes1
Hope you are all doing well. I am keeping up on my reading, just not enough time in the day to type in a post.
Later

Back from Cross Country, and Kevin finnished in 13:07 (2 mile course) knocking almost 1:30 off his previous best time.

GO KEVIN, GO KEVIN. :cheer2:

Knocking off 1:30 is an excellent achievement! Big High Five For Kevin!

It appears that Megan has the flu. We had some friends over for dinner on Sunday and their two little boys also have the same bug. So, I'm not sure who passed it to who, but it's definitely going around her school. So, Bunchkin, be glad Lauren is up at the middle school!

Slo! Congrats on the verandah and the visit from the upgrade fairy! Gee it would be nice if she stopped by here too! The verandah doors have locks up really high, so once you lock it, it will be a hard task for little Katie to get that open. I'm sure Stephanie is old enough to know better than to play around out there. You will love it!!

I hope you both feel better with those sinus headaches. Maybe this high pressure weather pattern is too high pressure for you two!

Well, after taking a semi-nap on the couch for an hour earlier this afternoon my sinus headache is almost gone. I can still kind of feel pressure around each side of my nose though, so I think I'll still keep taking meds. The last thing I want is to be woke up by it in the middle of the night. :headache:

slo Sorry your head is hurting too. Sudafed over the counter is not going to cut it. You have to ask for something behind the pharmacy counter that still has pseudoephedrine in it. I take Advil Cold and Sinus, plus more ibuprofen too.
Sorry to hear about your glasses.
Congrats to Stephanie on her AR test and spelling pre-test.
Lauren's teacher actually requires that they read 2 AR books every 2 weeks. And that's on top of all the other required reading they have to do.

Tiggerrn Glad you stopped by. :)
I cannot believe you are sticking with that PTO even though your kids switched schools......that's some dedication! :thumbsup2

Becky Sorry to hear about all your tooth pain!! YOUCH!!! :headache:

Sue Are you going to take Megan in to see the doctor or just ride it out? I sure hope she's better soon.
Did you ever get to the new Walmart? Hunter and I went shopping there yesterday. The grocery prices are such a nice change from Jewel's!!

piglet Congrats to Kevin!!! :cheer2:

Did I tell you all I called the cops on the evil neighbors again last night???
They have been letting their dogs sit out all night long and bark non-stop. And I mean NON-STOP!!! They are pathetic little dogs too.
It took the kids forever to fall asleep last night. Which of course made getting them up this morning a treat! :sad2:
The kids can't even play in the yard all together because these dogs just go nuts. We've all had it with these people. :sad2:

TGIF EVERYONE!!!!!

I'm feeling 50% better this morning. We slept with the big window closed last night, and I've been swallowing pills like crazy. Last night I took 4 Excedrin within a 3 hour period and that helped enough for us to go to the carnival. Then I took my Zyrtec and 2 Tylenol PMs when I went to bed, and that helped too. So hopefully after I take more Excedrin after breakfast I'll be able to kick this headache - I may have killed my liver, but the headache will be gone :teeth: Thanks for the well wishes everyone!!!

Speaking of the carnival - the girls had a great time!!!! :cool1: Poor Katie wasn't tall enough to ride certain rides, so she had to wait while STephanie rode the bigger rides alone, but she was very patient about it :) We got home around 9:30pm, and now I"m nervous about how they'll be this morning  I couldn't pass up the price for those rides - $10 a child to ride as much as they wanted. All the other nights are going to be tickets, and those tickets add up

Becky - I sorry to hear of all problems you are having with your tooth :guilty: I'll send a mountain of PD your way for you get that tooth fixed fast, it's not expensive, and it doesn't hurt to much while your waiting
to get it fixed :wizard: :wizard:

piglet - Hooray for Kevin!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: That's awesome!!!!
**How's Nathan feeling? I sure hope he is feeling better :wizard:

HERSEY - The evening was a little better. It was nice for us to go out and spend some time as a family :goodvibes - that doesn't happen very often anymore.

Tigggernnnn - You need a hug  You are so busy!!!! Has Kellie switched schools yet? If so, how is she doing?
**Thanks for the congrats to Stephanie. I'll show her that, because she needs all the encouragement she can get to continue studying hard and not get frustrated when the work gets harder.

Sam - How's Megan feeling today? Sending more PD her way!! :wizard:
**That's good about the locks on the verandah doors being high - that makes me feel less stressed about them. I have a fear of one of them falling off it into the water :scared1: Are you guys having a verandah when you go?

Bunchkin - I"m glad your headache ended up feeling better :) I use the Sudafed behind the counter, but I will try the Advil Cold and Sinus (thanks for reminding me of that, because we did talk about that before, but I didn't remember).
**Thank you also for the congrats to Stephanie. I will show her your post also, and it will make her feel so good :goodvibes STephanie's teacher asks the parents to have the kids do one AR book a month, but that's it. I require that Stephanie takes a AR test, and pass it, every week. I believe that this will help her with her reading, her spelling, and her preparation for harder grades when she has to do a lot of reading and then take tests over what she read. She of course thinks I'm being a mean mom, but she doesn't realize how much this could help her in the future - she'll thank me someday :)
**Good for you for calling the police on those crazy neighbors of yours. Were the dogs out last night, or did they take them in early?

Well, I'm off to try and get STephanie up for school - wish me luck!!
Have a good day!!

Slo ~ I think the AR program is awesome, and it really gives kids the chance to learn how to read the story, not just the words.

As for Nathan, he is still sick. Saw the doctor on Monday, and he now has another prescription and needs to stay on the breathing treatments. No football this week, broke his heart, but he should be able to play next week. This is the last year of flag football for him, and tomorrow is the last "regular" game. Next weekend is the "Flag Bowl" so hopefully his team can do well and win it all.

So, I think we will be going apple picking on Columbus Day, or the day after since the kids get out before lunch. This will be our third year going, and we love it. Seems like we always get too many, but it is so much fun picking them.

Anyone here go apple picking? We go to County Line Orchard in Indiana. http://www.countylineorchard.com/

Hi Everyone! TGIF!

Well, Megan wasn't 100% this morning, I'd put her at 65% to 70%, but she went to school mainly because it was pizza day, her Top Dog day, and Spirit Wear day. Top Dog is where she is "highlighted" in her class. I know I would have rather kept her home, but I don't have a lot of sick time left to take here at work and although my boss said I worked enough from home yesterday that I didn't have to claim a day off on my time sheet, but I don't like to push my limits. Had she been really dragging this morning, Dan would have stayed home with her, but she seemed pretty well. I hope we have NO "regressions" because of today. I'd hate to see her be sick over the weekend too! So, I'm trying to sit here and not feel guilty for sending my sweetpea to school when she probably could have used another day of rest. :guilty:

But, the weekend is here and Mother Nature is serving up a fine one! I think I may hit Kohls and see if I can get Dan some nicer short sleeve/collar shirts for the cruise. I might be able to find him some new shorts too, maybe on sale. I know its the wrong time of year to contemplate shorts, but they may have some on clearance that are okay looking. Dan is pretty picky about shorts. Have to be a certain length, not too long, not too short, and they can't be baggy or cargo-ey, so it's a tough find, but maybe I'll get lucky!

The only thing he's pickier about is gym-shoes. And luckily, he found a pair he likes recently at Dick's!

I hope everyone enjoys their nice weather no matter what they are doing!!

I hope Megan does well today! As for Kohl's did you get coupons in your mail? I got some $10 off things for the grand opening of the new stores this week. Doubt that they would have shorts at the new store however.

Can I tell you all what a bad parent I fell like?

Lauren's birthday is coming up soon! As in next weekend!!! And we've talked about her having a party, which she didn't have one last year because we were in WDW on her b-day. But I have yet to really sit down with her and organize it.
And I know she really wanted it on her birthday this year because it falls on a weekend finally.
I totally put it on the back burner with all the vacation planning and stuff I was doing. :sad2:
:guilty: :guilty: I feel really bad!! :guilty: :guilty:

slo Glad your headache is going away! And I'm glad you are taking the Sudafed behind the counter, that means it has the "good stuff" in it!! I thought you were taking the other stuff.
We have a carnival in our area this weekend too that the neighbor kids told us about. It's sponsored by their church/private school. I'm actually hoping the kids forget about it as we'll already be pretty busy this weekend. ;)

I forgot to say congrats on the cabin upgrade!!! That's awesome!! Make sure to take pics from the view!!

piglet Thanks for that link to the apple orchard. I think I have heard of them before...and recall someone mentioning their donuts too!!
I hope Nathan is feeling 100% better very soon. :thumbsup2

Sam I hope Megan feels better today. Maybe all the fun stuff going on at school will help her make it through the day! :thumbsup2
And knowing her I'm sure she'll sleep in late tomorrow which will help!! :goodvibes
Man, is Dan picky about his shorts!!!!
Tony is just thankful I buy him clothes!!! :rotfl:

And for the continuing trip report.....................

Day #2 - Friday
MK & MNSSHP

Today we got up really early to be at the MK for an 8am ressie Lauren had at the new Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in the castle.
This was the earliest we had ever arrived at any park!!! The official opening was 9am and lo and behold it was also a Magical Beginnings day so that meant that Fantastyland was opening at 8am!!! :yay: We had no clue!! Nice surprise!!

The one other thing that did surprised me is that we walked right up to the entry area for people with early ressies and no one questioned us!!! I thought they did that. I mean, anyone could have just walked in early!!!

So in we go and it was roughly 7:45am!!! What an amazing sight for us since we have never been in the park so early with such little crowds. And everything was decorated so nicely for Halloween!!

We got to the castle on time. And they promptly, and nicely, asked Tony to leave with the double stroller we picked up. There is no room for strollers in there. He and Hunter were glad to leave the girly area!!! They headed to Fantasyland and did some walking around, taking in the sights and then rode IASW. Which Hunter told us he did NOT want to "go on that annoying ride". But he did any way!!! And was very annoyed by it!!
Anyway.....
The new BBB is really nice! We liked it better than the one at DTD!! The themeing is just a little more castle tweaked!
And now they have these cool new face shield things to protect the kids faces when they spray their hair with that mega watt hairspray they use!!
We got a big kick out of them!!!
Lauren was thrilled that they had given her a special brochure with her name printed on it when she arrived. And she had 2 Fairy Godmother's in Training assisting her!!!!
She went for the Pop Diva look this time. And they totally made her look Punk Rock!!! She got lots of compliments all day long from other people in the park!!! She got to take her make up, face sticky jewels, 2 bottles of nail polish AND a Mickey head bracelet. They come in many colors and this is something new they are doing. Too cute!

We kept expecting the crowd to grow. But it was amazing! The park stayed at such a manageable crowd level that we walked on many rides and hardly ever had a wait. And if there was a wait it was always much shorter then the wait time sign stated. We did so many rides this day! It was crazy!!

We left the park after having an early lunch. We would be heading back later for MNSSHP and an early dinner at CP.

When we got back to Ft. Wilderness we saw a cute golf cart that was personally owned by some other guest.

782286974111_0_ALB.jpg

In fact there was a couple cool golf carts. One was a mini Hummer!!!
It was gas powered so it was really fast!

I love her make-over! Very cool to know that it is not all princess stuff, although that is what my Lauren would want.

The rest of Day #2......

Later in the afternoon we head back to MK. We have a 3:50 ressie for dinner and it's MNSSHP night!!! :yay:

492286974111_0_ALB.jpg

We just catch the tail end of the 3:00 parade outside of the Guest Services bldg.

Parade ends in just in enough time to make it to CP and not be late.

282017974111_0_ALB.jpg

Dinner was really good as usual.
Afterwards we hit a ton more rides and attractions as the crowd is still very manageable!!

Then it was time for the party and parade. I couldn't get the right adjustment on my camera for the parade since it was dark when we saw it, we went to the later parade. I still need to figure that one out on the new camera.

313017974111_0_ALB.jpg

We did lots of trick or treating too. Hunter and Lauren both wore WDW Halloween shirts. Hunter dressed as Mater and Lauren was a witch.
DH and I had bought WDW Halloween shirts too and had changed into them.

Here they are with the Walrus from Alice in Wonderland. We'd never seen him before in the parks.

606257974111_0_ALB.jpg

Before the parade started Lauren got to join in on the some of the fun.

806257974111_0_ALB.jpg

These half-dead guys sang a funny song about the Headless Horseman right before the parade came our way.

We were able to due a bunch of rides again as the crowds were still great. Saw the Villains stage show this year! And it was awesome!! I forgot to take pictures of it though as I was so busy watching it!!! :)

One new attraction we did (twice on the trip).

There are a bunch of doors with silly things on them.
This first door was really small, second picture of it shows what the door says.
Third picture is of a different door.

We stayed till about the end of the party. Hunter of course fell asleep right before the parade!! And slept through it!!! And he was right up against the rope with the parade passing right in front of him and he still slept right through it!!!!
It was a great first day at the park!!!

Bunchkin...

Awesome pictures and the kids look great! That Walrus has got me humming Cabbages & Kings! Those poor little oysters...

walrus-with-oysters-2.jpg

Walrus was totally an unusual find and I'm glad you were able to snap a pic of him. I'm glad you stopped taking pictures in order to actually watch the show. I find myself doing that way too often then the only memories I have are from behind a camera screen.

Keep the report coming.
