Morning everyone. Guess I should say good afternoon now.
Taking the kids to the library for a bit, then who knows. They want to go to a carnival this afternoon. I just can't do the crutches for that long.:sad2:
Took them to Odyssey Fun World yesterday. They had a really good time there. (After the CPD kids all left). Go later in the day.
Mac, YA. I think I better find another volunteer:rotfl:
Slo, thanks for the continued Pixie Dust. I think it feels a little better, but today it is a great many shades of green and blue.:rotfl2:
Bunchkin, I should've called you up fast. I hope insurance covers it all. (Beyond my c0-pays). Guess I'll have no trouble meeting my portion this year.:scared1:
Hersey, hope you are doing well today. :grouphug: Remembering the good times makes that stuff so much easier to do.
Not fond of long bridges here either. Remember the Sunshine Bridge in FL back in the 80s? It was hit by a barge shortly before we were driving to FL for vacation so they were using the other side as a 2 way road. You crossed over on that one looking at the one all broken right beside it. As we crossed, a barge was coming. I was like "just get over this quickly please!!!"
Well, better get a move on before the library closes.
DMM, Jedi, Piglettoo, Debbie, Donna and Geffric, have a great day. Talk to you all later.
Geffric, good luck with those driving lessons. Not looking forward to those days. I am a nervous driver anyway. Never mind my kid driving with me in the front seat.

happy saturday to all the chicagoland homies.....

bunchkin, many thanks for the disney radio info. that is great stuff!

and a big shout out to everyone here! :yay:

Thanks, Bunchkin  Yeah. It's not going to be fun getting back into the dating game.
I love Clueless though!!!! I should watch that. I bought the DVD ages ago but haven't seen it recently. Such a cute and fun, fluffy movie :happytv:

Looks like everyone's keeping busy this summer!! :cool1:

Michelle Not going to Milwaukee Summerfest. My week's filled up.
Trying to let their new album grow on me. And I'm not too thrilled over their ticket prices. They will be higher when the full tour starts in Jan '08.
Plus, I'm already going to Wisconsin once this coming month for the American Girl Benefit Sale in Madison............and that's more than enough trips to WI for me!!!

OMG~ Sal feels the same way about the new album! Which day are you hitting the AM thing in MAdison? We have tix for saturday at 2:15pm. Just wanted to check it out :) BIL is heading to Milwaukee for the concert and when he told DH the price of the tix :faint: :faint: I almost died right there on the spot! I cannot believe they are getting MORE expensive! is that even possible?? I've at least been getting my fill of Hottie Bon Jovi on TV a lot lately! I just wish he would sing some of the old stuff ;)

Take care everyone!

Went to the Naperville Ribfest today with the family and inlaws. Always a good time. Pigged out, of course!! And brought home an extra slab of ribs (from pigfoot) for dinner. ;) I thought Porky and Beans had some pretty good brisket, but of course, Pigfoot almost always steals the show with their sauce.

Anyone heading else out that way? HEART is playing Tuesday night and Randy Travis on Wednesday.

jedi Clueless is good fluff!!! I like those kind of movies when it's with an actor early off in their career and you can look at what horrible movies they made!!! :rotfl: There are a lot of people in that movie who have gone on to bigger and better things!!

Crissup Ribfest YUM!!! I always say every year that we are going there and then I forget or something else is planned.
Randy Travis!!! I used to love him back in the early 90's!!! Saw him at Star Plaza!! :)

slo Glad Stephanie had a good time at the Planetarium.

Tiggern Tony's made our family limit on the deductible for us for the year!! :rolleyes1

Michelle We have tickets for the 11:45am entrance to the benefit sale. Are you on the email list from the Madison Museum? They have been sending lists of what will be on sale and for how much too!!! Good stuff!!! :yay: Can't wait to go!!! Are you staying there or just driving in for the day?

Fireworks are already being lit around here. And I really need to get the kids in bed so this should be fun! We've been gone all day long and they are pooped!! :)

Have a great night all!!!

Crissup Ribfest YUM!!! I always say every year that we are going there and then I forget or something else is planned.

LOL!! Got a call from my Mother tonight. They were sitting in their home in Florida watching Chicago's WGN News as they showed the Ribfest and there was Carol and I front and center. I recall as we were waiting to enter the ribfest, there was a cameraman with a CLTV logo on the side of his camera just taking in the scene. The ribfest opened 10 minutes late, and as we were all waiting to enter, one of the workers asked if he could borrow my ticket to test the ticket scanner. So, when the ribfest finally opened, I just had to walk right in. This resulted in me being the first guest to enter the ribfest and I made a beeline for the age ID band tent while the girls were getting their bags searched.

Anyway, the few seconds of footage on TV showed Carol and I front and center waiting to get in, then showed me walking up the center of and empty ribfest heading for the ID tent. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Carol keeps laughing at the odds of my parents in Florida spotting us on TV.

Crissup How funny! Count me in as always wanting to go but other plans pop up.

Bunchkin They started the cherry bombs here last week. Poor Minnie she's a nervous wreck. at least I don't have to call her in she's right there bye the back door waiting to come in :thumbsup2

:wave2: to all

Morning all :)

Not sure if we are staying there, since it's pretty close to us, but we think we might stay that night and then sunday head over to the Dells or something on the way home :) We've been getting the mailing lists, I'm after a bitty baby boy twin :) and of course clothes clothes clothes! haaha!

It's so nice now that Katie sleeps in a little bit - we got up at 8:35 today - that's awesome!!! :cool1: I haven't been able to sleep in this long for 10 years. Before we had Stephanie, we had Sampson (our German Shepherd that passed away), and then we had Stephanie who never slept in:sad2: When Stephanie became old enough to sleep in longer, we had a puppy that would get me up, and then after he was older, Katie was born - so, it's literally been 10 years :faint:

Last night we watched the movie The Good Shepherd, and all I can say about it is - OMG it was so BORING and so L O N G :headache: !!!!!! If any of you are interested in this - it's almost 3 hours long, that seems like it's 4 hours long :faint: It doesn't move fast, and make sure you have no background noise in your house, because there is so much mumbling that it's hard to hear what people are saying. Yeah, it was a real waste of my money and time - it was pretty awful!!!!

Tigggernnnnnnnnn - I'm glad your ankle is a little better today :) I hope it continues feeling better real fast :wizard:

Mac - :wave2:

Jedi - Don't stress out about dating again. You'll know when the moment is right to date someone. When you need us to talk, advice, opinions, etc. we'll always be here for you!!! :grouphug:

DMM - :wave2:

Crissup - A Ribfest sounds tasty!!! :goodvibes We are anxiously awaiting to go to Pierogifest in Whiting, the end of July. This is one of our favorite summer events that we've been attending for over 10 years.:thumbsup2

Bunchkin - Lots of fireworks by us too ::yes:: Luckily Katie was dead tired last night, and went right to sleep before they were being lit - she gets scared easily.

HERSEY - :wave2:

Well, I gotta run and get ready for church
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Thanks, slo  I appreciate that :goodvibes

All this concert talk, and I forgot to mention that I'm going to the Police concert at Wrigley on Thursday night!! My friend got us tickets - the cheaper one, but who cares!!

Morning peeps!!! :wave2:

Another lovely day!!!!

There was 2 parties near by last night blowing off stuff. But thankfully it ended around 10:30ish. Both kids were so tired that they crashed and it didn't bother them.

jedi My DH is working at Wrigley on Wed to set up for the concert. The company he works for always sets up the electric for all the big concerts in the city!!
It mean though that we won't see him on the 4th....but it does mean double over time in pay!!! :cool1: :rotfl:

slo A pierogi fest sounds YUM-O!!!!! Love em!!! :)

Crissup That's so cool you were caught on tv and that your family could see you!!!! :rotfl:

Michelle Lauren's after the historical dolls and Just Like You dolls and clothes. And they are going to be selling lots of books and party stuff too!!

Have a great Sunday everyone!!!

We're off to look at a new bedroom set for Lauren later. Dreaded furniture shopping on a Sunday=huge crowds!!

Bunchkin, Happy shopping. I dreaded looking for bedroom furniture for DS last year. Unded up at IKEA. Best place to get kids furniture IMO. Maybe you could shop online and have it delivered-skip the weekend shopping trip.
Crissup, I want to go to Ribfest every year and it always ends up on my weekend to work. This year, Off with a fractured ankle. Definately too difficult to hobble around for ribs this year:sad2: Cool that you were on TV and your family saw you.
Slo, do the girls not like the fireworks even when they are watching them or is it just the loud booms? We were outside with the dog last night when a loud one went off and he jumped a mile. I was :rotfl2: told DH some hunting dog he'll make. Glad you enjoyed a morning of rest.
DMM or Bunchkin, do they sell those AG stuff cheaper than at the store? DD would love that. Once again, this foot is screwing up the summer for everyone.
Bunchkin, how is the scooter rental thing handled at DL? We are not sure if we are going to go on vacation now or not. If scooters are 1st come 1st serve and anyone can get one, then if I am not early enough would I be out of luck? Or do they have to prove a need? No way could I walk the park on crutches. My good foot gets too sore, never mind the bad one.
And I don't want to make anyone else's vacation miserable by having to push a wheelchair around.
Jedi, enjoy the concert. Looks like the weather will be great for it.
Better run and get my shower. Takes me halfway to forever to get in and out again :lmao:
Hersey, Mac, piglet too, and everyone else, have a good day today. Looks like a beautiful day.

Tiggerrn

Here is a link to the Madison Children's Museum American Girl Benefit Sale.

The museum is provided with tons of merchandise from AG to sell that will go towards the museum. The dolls & items are returns or damaged dolls that tons of volunteers fix and turn into perfect dolls again. The volunteers are trained in how to fix/take care of them. Some of the items are over stock and old items no longer sold.
Everything is sold at a discounted price.

Read more on the web site.
You can sign up for emails from them too. Most recent ones have been price lists of what's for sale and how much.

Not sure about the ecv rentals at Disneyland. I never ended up using one.
Most days I was fine and when my feet did hurt I just toughed it out!! I would call them to see what the procedure is for renting.

If there is something you are looking for I can forward the emails to you so you can see what they have and how much.
I would mind buying for you!

good sunday afternoon chicagoland homies.
i had your back, went to church and now home.

tiggerrn: hope your foot / ankle feels better today

crissup: that is way kewl.......on tv and ribfest! so amazing your mom saw it on tv!

jedi: have a great time at the police concert!

sandy: isn't it great to sleep in!

bunchkin: thanks for the link.

to those i neglected to shout out by name, i  you all !

Hey guys! How are you all doing??? I haven't been here in so long! :grouphug:

I'm actually finally getting my house unpacked (about time, huh, I've been here for almost 3 months!), and I had a good trip to WDW in May. :yay: I haven't gotten my pictures up yet. I had the stomach flu a couple of weeks back. I got it from my Indy friend's 18 m.o. They spread it around their whole family and I was lucky enough to visit on a contagious day. :rotfl: It was sooo bad. I was sick for literally a full week. :crazy2: And my parents were moving at the time, so I didn't even have anyone to take care of me. (Is there no drama queen smiley on here? :rotfl2: )

Well I'm going to Olive Garden now, so I have to get ready. This is a belated Father's day dinner, since that's when I was sick.

I hope to make it back here more often...maybe I should just not try to catch up!

Leigh sorry to hear about you and the "bug". Glad your better.

Tiggerrn2 If you rent a wheelchair you run the risk of your family pushing you into a corner and leaving you. That probably what Alex might want to do.

Bunckin Yeh for extra $$ but it makes for a crappy 4th.

Mac as usual thanks for covering for us.:thumbsup2

Leigh Glad you stopped in!! I was wondering what was keeping you busy! Who knew it was a germ spread by a munchkin!!!??!! :rotfl: Glad you're feeling better though! :goodvibes

Hersey We haven't done anything big on the 4th in a long time so it's no big deal! For us it's a holiday we'd rather be in our own backyard and away from the crazy pyro "experts"!! :rotfl:
And we have a big party to go to next weekend to celebrate the 4th so all is good. :thumbsup2

mac Thanks for covering for all us sinners again!!

;)

We woke up this morning to a crying baby deer laying in the cul-de-sac. When we started to approach it (I thought it was hit by a car and dying) it popped up and stumbled away. I was relieved that it did, because I was concerned about the mother coming after us if we got to close, but at the same time I couldn't let it die alone (if it was dying). I sure hope it found it's mother, because it was crying really really loud - how sad, it was lost!!! :guilty:

Yesterday was a good relaxing day at home. We had some good pool time, and I got to much sun :sunny: I did alot of floating, and then layed on the deck for quite awhile - it was great!!!!! :goodvibes

Jedi - Have fun at The Police concert Thursday night :cool1:

Bunchkin - Was your furniture shopping excursion successful? I agree with you about furniture shopping on a Sunday - very crowded:eek: !!! Where did you go? We used to love Bay Furniture, and 90% of everything in our house came from there. I'm glad everything is new, because I have no where else I like to go:rolleyes: .

Tiggerrnnnnnnnnnn - Stephanie's never had a problem with fireworks, but Katie has always been a little nervous about them (but she's more nervous of a child. Stephanie has always been fearless). When Katie is watching them she's fine, but when she hears the loud ones she can't see, she gets scared  This year has been the best year for her so far - she isn't as nervous as in the past.

Mac - It is great to sleep in!! ::yes::

Leigh - So good to see you!!! :wave2: I'm sorry you were so sick  Hopefully you can get unpacked, and enjoy the rest of your summer. Don't be a stranger - we miss you when you're gone!!!

HERSEY - Is Alex enjoying his summer? What has he been doing?

Well, it's time to start my day.
I hope you all have a good day today!!!
