Happy fourth of July, Chicagoland! I know I can never catch up with everything/everyone when I've been away for a few days!
Leigh...good to see you posting..
Geffric...I hope your days weren't too slow at work this week.
Slo..have fun at the parade! I'm glad Stephanie liked the planetarium. How did things go with leaving your employee at the store?
Tiggern...I hope your ankle starts feeling better soon. The house will always be there, this is the time to take care of yourself. And, all the best for the kids with getting the tonsils out.
Mac...how is your son doing? Hope his healing is going well.
Crissup...how funny that your relatives in Florida saw you on tv!!!
Bunchkin...yep, we did LOVE Wicked!!!
What an awesome play! I was always hestitant to go & see it because I wondered what the creator of the Wizard of Oz would have thought about it, but I honestly think he would have liked it, too. I have never been in such a gorgeous theater. Chicago architecture always amazes me...you walk around in the city and I just get fascinated by looking at the scroll work and designs on the various buildings in the city.
Mark & I also went to Taste of Chicago on Saturday before the play. We took an early train into the city, and the weather was fantastic, so we walked to the Taste and got there right about opening. It was perfect, because we were able to stroll the grounds there, and have the "taste portion" of various foods before we headed over to the theater to see the play. We left the taste right about the time the main crowds were beginning to head in!
On Sunday, we went up to Lake Geneva, and spent a few days just relaxing by the lake up there. Today, we will watch the fireworks from our own backyard.
A shout out to ALL...hope everyone has a safe holiday and a great day today!

I knew you would! I plan on taking Lauren to see it. She's been wanting to for some time and is mad I've seen it twice without her!!
The thought before I broke my ankle was to just get them both done and over with during summer vacation. Now it is going to be a major chore. My mom will come help, though.
They were having a good sale & considering DD was making (or at least partially -- she made me do the finishing of it) gauchos and we ran out of fabric (poor thing would have had part of 1 leg not covered). They worked though!!!! Yippie!!! So, I have a hunch we will be making lots more bottoms for her. It's difficult to find clothes for her with the back brace she wears, so this will solve our problem. What happens is she needs pants with adjustable waists because if she gets them big enough to fit with her brace on, they are way too big without it. If she gets them to fit without it, it won't fit over the brace or if it does because too short. She needs something that works in both cases since sometimes she wears the brace & then takes it off but is not in a place to change clothes (i.e. school activities). I was able to modify the pattern to add a drawsting to it.
At least with making things we can both be happy. It's not easy to find things in the store we can both accept (and/or that fit her correctly).

"Can I have some more juice? I'm still hungry! We want to go in the pool!! Where are my....?" I have learned to hop quite well, though, I must say.
(one legged banana dancer needed here)

I was so glad when it was over so I could go home and go into my pool. Then after we were home, the day was awesome!!! Good company, good food, good fireworks - just a great time!!!!!
I understand his pain - it's awful!!!! I hope he gets better soon
Why is it with weddings, something always has to go wrong?
and then get ready for work
