Thanks everyone for the happy anniversary wishes :goodvibes

We really enjoyed the moviepirate:
The time flew by for me, and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.
I am personally hoping for a 4th movie - I just love 'em!!! :thumbsup2

mac - If he is having a hard time breathing, than it's time for those awful things to come out:guilty: . Make sure your son asks the doctor for a list of items that good and bad to eat while he is healing. There are bad things on the list, that you wouldn't think would be bad - like milk and ice cream.

Rose - :wave2:

Bunchkin - Sounds like you had a nice night with the "good neighbors" :goodvibes When it comes to the "bad" neighbor, I'm sure they are violating a noice ordinance when they are parting real late like that. You can call the police on them to knock it off :)
**Did you get the landscaping done?

Donna - I can hardly wait to hear about your trip to Mackinaw Island, because I've always wanted to go there. I can understand about you feeling nervous, because that's how I feel about going on the cruise. It's kinda like you feel like a fish out of water. I'm sure you'll have a great time!!!!! :goodvibes

Mindy - Good to see you!!!!
You and paintnolish can compare moving notes :thumbsup2
I hope your move goes well, and don't be a stranger!!! :)

Kim - :wave2:

HERSEY - How was the zoo??

Well, I gotta go get ready for my day
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Slo- Happy belated Anniversary to you

Whew! I think I'm caught up reading!

Slo -- Happy Anniversary, it sounds like it was lovely.

macraven -- We saw the ad on the Food Network for the Villian Cakes. We can't wait! They showed Scar's head falling off. OOPS!! :lmao: We were watching "The Next Food Network Star" show & we always love to watch the Food Challenge on Sunday nights. I love the dessert/cake ones and what could be better than Disney & the Challenge combined! Anyone else watch the Next Food star show? We got hooked last time but it was in toward the end, I've never watched it from the beginning all the way through.

poohlovermom -- Woo Hoo for the $$ for Disney! That's great.

Hi to everyone else. :)

DD had her last gymnastics meet yesterday! So we are done with Level 5. She did OK. She has done better but I was happy scores were consistant. We have had trouble with that gym in the past. She got 2 scores in the 8's and 2 in the 7's. She came in 5th out of 6 girls. Her team came in 5th out of 12 teams though so that's awesome! Considering our girls only practice 6 hours/week and I know some of these other teams spend a whole lot more time in the gym than we do. DD has way too many other things she wants to do in life & it's not like she is going to be going to the Olympics, so the 6 hours works for us. It gets complicated enough as it is between her school activities and park district ones.

Today her braces come off and then off to the team picnic. It should be interesting what the weather is going to do. It looks like it's going to rain but I also see the sun trying to poke out. It can rain all it wants right now but by 4:30 it has to be cleared up as the girls will go play mini-golf; do some team games (I know usually egg toss is in there somewhere) along with the pizza. Us parents show up around 7 pm for the awards which are always fun because it's a bit of a "roasting" for the girls -- so it's funny to see what things they end up with (usually some sort of gag type gift). DD always gets hassled for not being able to run well OR talking too much. :lmao: So, it should be interesting to see what she gets this year or if it's something new.

Hello Everyone!!

Raining here. :umbrella:

I heard it's supposed to rain on Friday, the day of my troop camp-out!! I hope it doesn't rain!!!! I do NOT want to reschedule.

slo I want more POTC movies too!!! Unlike some people, I felt there were more questions left to be answered!!
Landscaping has been on a stand still this past week because Tony has been working a lot! We bought plants/bushes last weekend and they've been sitting on my front porch ever since.
I'm hoping later this week or this coming weekend he'll plant what we all ready have. Also we decided to add more paver blocks to the front of the house so he needs to work on that too. I can't do a thing with the area in front of my porch until he adds the pavers to the existing ones he put up.

Mindy Glad you checked in!!!
Hope your new place is wonderful! My younger sister recently moved from Oak Park. She did love it there. And she found the commute into the city not that bad. Good luck with your move!!

Donna You're going to have such a great time at Mackinaw Island!!!
I too have always wanted to go there!!! You'll have a wonderful b-day there!! :goodvibes

Hersey How was the zoo?? Any Cicadas?

mac Thanks for the tv listings again!!! :)

Tiggerrn Don't you have a Northwoods restaurant out by you? Have you been?? We just went to the one in Frankfort last night, second visit there. The kids just love that place.
I'll check my calendar for the 13th for the zoo!! :)

Gotta run!!
DD has a 1/2 day of school today, and then an hour and a half tomorrow!!!

Marcus Theaters is running their summer kids program where movies are only $2.50 and include a small popcorn.
Click the link and select a city near you to see the movie schedule.

Morning all. Been raining off and on. Looks to be sunny for the moment. May try to get my daily trek to the postoffice and dog walk in now quick before the next wave hits.
Mac, thanks for the listings once again. Oh, and as Slo mentioned, dairy products are a no-n0 for the first week or so. They create too much phlem build-up. EWWWWW!! Docs will let him know when to add them into the diet.
Bunchkin, thanks for the heads-up about Marcus. DD is still mad I hadn't taken her to see Last Mimzy. So we will definately hit that one. Yes, we do have a Northwoods about 3 miles from us. They took the gift shop out, though so not as much fun. Would be great if we could meet up at the zoo.
Well. Better dash before the next rain comes. Need to get in a little exercise every day.:rolleyes1

Hello everyone! I am still alive,LOL. I am actually on vacation in North Carolina visiting Sarah (Aces). I had an ultrasound before I left an I am pregnant wiith a GIRL! Yep 3 daughter's, we decided to name her Ashley Lynn Tertia Robertson. :cloud9: :cutie:

Congrats on the new-to-be. Hope you are enjoying your visit.

Amy Glad to hear from you. Hope things are going well. Congrats on number three girl.:cool1: At least you won't have to go out buying new clothes just yet. Say hi to Sarah:wave2:

Bunchkin yes there were cicada's. By the southgate ,since that's were most of the new exhibits are, there weren't too many. As you go closer to the older section they were flying around. We were half way to the elephants when 3 of them flew into Alex's head from different angles. :lmao: He unlike me thought it was pretty funny. Needless to say he wasn't having fun so we left. Since we have season passes we can go back anytime. Make sure you see the Stingray's very cool get a firm grip on Hunter though. You can touch the stingrays just not swim with.:rotfl:

Thanks for continued Happy Anniversary wishes for Kevin and I :goodvibes

geffric - Sounds like you have a busy week too.
*Your mini trip sounds like a blast :cool1:

Becky - How was the team picnic yesterday? I hope it wasn't to much of a wash-out.

Bunchkin - I bet your new landscaping is going to be so nice when it's done :) I'll have to come by and see it!!!
*I hope it doesn't rain on Friday for you - that would be a drag if you had to reschedule. Sending lots of PD for no rain :wizard:

Tiggerrrnnnnn - I was bummed about the gift shop at Northwoods being gone too:guilty: They had some great candles in there.

Amy - What a nice surprise to see you!!!! Congrats on finding out about having another Princessprincess: That's very exciting!!!! Keep us posted on how you are doing, and don't be a stranger!!!
*How's your mom??

Mac - :wave2:

HERSEY - I'm with Alex!!! Those bugs flying into my head wouldn't make me very happy either

Kim - :wave2:

Well, I gotta run and get ready for my day
I can hardly wait until this week is over - I'm getting very stressed out!!!!:headache:

Have a good day!!

Good Morning!!

slo I hope your new employee works out!! Is this the college girl you spoke of??
I'm hoping it doesn't rain but they say it will. I'm thinking we'll be sleeping indoors, that way I won't have to reschedule as my summer calendar is already filling up. I already had planned to have my party tables in the garage for crafts and experiments so it will work out ok. :) ......I hope!! :rotfl:

2Sweet Congrats to you on having another girl!! princess:
Have fun visiting Aces!!

Tiggerrn The Northwoods near me had very little in their store area. Maybe they are going to close that one soon too. :confused3
Does the one by you have a kids play area (swing set) in the back of the restaurant?
The 13th is good for us for going to the zoo, so count us in.

hersey Thanks for warning me of the cicada's at the zoo!!

Gotta run. Today is the last day of school!!! And I need to go pick up Lauren's meds that she keeps there.....before I TOTALLY forget!!

Have a nice day everyone!!!!!

Good morning! Alex is no longer a 6th grader. His last hour of school was yesterday. Next yr he will be a middle schooler . He was recommended to be put in an challenge english class. He should do very well in that.

Slo Glad things are moving along for you with the store. Hope your new employee works out.:thumbsup2

Hope you all going to the zoo will have a good time. Make sure you go by the Stingray exhibit.

Morning all. Have to serve ice cream all day at school today. Glad it's not 90 degrees!!!
Bunchkin, just have to hope it is not a rainy day!! My niece and her husband will be with me. They are coming in from Baltimore for the week for my sister's 50th birthday.
Sandy, good luck getting the store together and ready for your open house. I hope all goes well for you.
Well, I'd better jump in the shower and get to school. Have a great day everyone.

Hey Everyone!

Well, it's the last day of school for the New Lenox kids too. They have a whole 1 1/2 hours today. Not really even worth the bus fuel if you ask me, but they had to make up a snow day. Pretty cool how the teachers missed a full day's work, but only have to work 1 1/2 hours to make it up. I knew I missed a good gig by not becoming a teacher! ARgggh! :rotfl: Not to mention having the summer off!

Megan starts summer camp tomorrow and we are both very hesitant about it although I'm not telling her that! HA! I'm not worried about the camp per se, but any time we make a change like this, I get really nervous. I can't wait for her old day care to be up and running. The lady is expanding into a new building and it having it completely rehabbed. I'm hoping she's finished by the first of August. I want to get Megan squared away there so she can start the school year next year on even ground. This day care is the only place (aside from Bunchkin's house) that I have ever felt Megan was 100% cared for. With Megan at Bunchkin's it was like she had a second family.

I know she's going to miss all of you, but feel free to kidnap her anytime!! And of course, we'll have to get together many times over the summer. Ratatouille is out at the end of the month!!

So tomorrow, we are on a new schedule although I think Megan will enjoy it when she settles in. There are lots of field trips and they can swim several times a week in the high school pool. I'm hoping that Megan will be get over some of her water fears by the end of the summer.

We have our vacation to Branson in two weeks and I'm looking forward to that! So, that's about it folks!

Hope everyone has a safe healthy summer!

Slo: Congrats on everything coming together at your store. I can't wait to see it! I have been checking out Art.com. That's a really addictive website. So much neat stuff!

2sweet -- Congratulations!!! :cutie:

Poor DD -- although I think it's kind of funny -- she went and had to get her braces removed and not only did she get those taken off but 3 baby teeth came out along with them. :rotfl2:

She had been complaining about one being very loose and annoying her before we went. DH had called around lunch time teasing that maybe instead of taking off the braces they just yank out the teeth! Little did he know he was accurate!

Apparently they went to remove the glue from some of the baby teeth and they kept wiggling to the point that the assistant said it would just be easier to remove them than attempt to take the glue off since they were ready to come out anyway! :lmao:

So I go to pick her up (they had told me when I scheduled a 2 hour appointment even DD heard them say it! but it didn't take that long), so I had to go pick up her brothers from school & I thought she would still have 45 minutes or so left to her appointment but was already done when I got back.

She has these nice straight 4 front teeth and then GAPS on both sides where her teeth are missing! She lost 1 on one side and 2 on the other that were right next to each other. At least she got rid of the tooth that was bothering her.

She still has 8 baby teeth left to go before they are all gone. Yes, she is 13 and still has lots of baby teeth. When we started this 18 months ago her first set of x-rays showed 13 baby teeth left to fall out with 13 adult teeth there. She has lost a total of 5 during this time now (counting the 3 she just lost). They are doing hers in 2 phases, so basically she gets a retainer now and we wait until the other baby teeth fall out & the adult teeth come in. Then she goes back into braces to finish up. This time she only had them on her top teeth, next time she gets top/bottom. I know some orthodontists don't do it this way but in DD's case it really was necessary.

Anyway, I thought it was comical, just the way everything turned out.

As for her awards picnic, they got through it without getting rained on. She tied with another girl for the Stick It award which she got a t-shirt for. They were keeping track of who was sticking it on the beam during competitions (basically those who didn't fall). She loved the t-shirt so is wearing it today at school. The only bad thing about the picnic is I realized next year is our last year on this team. It basically goes up to 8th grade but I tell you those 8th graders looked way older than just 1 year older than my DD!!! :scared1: I'm so not ready for that next year. Of course, maybe the fact that she was sitting there with a gap toothed smile that I couldn't picture her looking like such a young adult yet for next year.

I wasn't even really thinking about it but 1/2 the optional team will be going to High School next year and they won't be at the picnic. DD can still do gymnastics through HS and partly with the park district but it's not being part of this particular team. It was as I was watching this that it dawned on me that last year is our last year for this particular team. Too weird for me.

I was thinking of going to Disney next year and we would end up missing the picnic but I'm re-thinking it. We have been part of this team for at least 5 years, it's going to be weird enough not going to the picnic after next year that I really don't want to miss the very last one. We originally had 2009 planned anyway so that might be a better plan (plus more time to save $$$). I know DD would pick Disney easily over the last picnic but it's *ME* wanting to go for that last hurrah picnic. Besides, I like to see the gag gifts they give. DD got a turtle this year because she's so *SLOW* with running (she needs to work on running!). I knew it would either be that or the talking too much. Those are her 2 that every year seem to show up in the gag gift department for her. Plus a few other things the 8th graders get, etc...

This afternoon I get to go help out at the grade school for an ice cream party for my 7 year old. He gets speech therapy and every year all the kids who have been in speech get to have an ice cream party at the end of the year. I like to go help out with that one. It's so much fun, the kids love it and then after they eat their ice cream, they get awards for graduating, getting less time next year or working hard. It's a fun time all around.

Thank you all! I am excited about my new daughter coming, October 8th seems so far away. Ill try not to be a stranger for the next 2 weeks Slo, LOL. My mom is doing good, she just got back from her Florida trip in May. The baby is growing nice and healthy they said, she was 10 inches long and almost 1 pound. Katelyn and Hayley are so excited about the baby, Hayley likes to pull up my shirt and blow bubbles on my tummy and katelyn likes to rub it and kiss it, LOL. :cloud9:

Sam I'm sure Megan is going to have a great summer at the camp. I even told her she might find that there are people there she will know from school or even her prior day care.
And yes, we will miss her too. And I hope we can 'kidnap' her from time to time and take her with us on days we are planning on going somewhere fun.

We are looking forward to seeing the "RAT" movie!!! The previews for it before POTC3 were so funny!!!

2Sweet Thanks for letting us know that your mom is doing well too. Please tell her not to be such a stranger to the thread....you too!! :thumbsup2

Hersey Alex's upcoming 7th grade refers to themselves as middle school? Ours is considered junior high. I thought they were all the same. :confused3

Tiggerrn Do you have lots of fun things planned for your sister's visit??

Gotta run, the school bus is on it's way! I just saw it pass on the street behind our house!!

SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER!!!:rockband:

2Sweet Congrats on finding out it is a girl

Slo Have fun today with your employee

Becky I know what you mean about the kids looking too old. I swear that there were high school seniors posing as 8th graders at my son's school this year.

My boys were done with school on Friday. Lauren is asking now, when does school start, because she is excited about Kindergarten. They go all day here in Mokena, so it will be intereesting to see how she adjusts.

I am taking Kevin to the zoo by himself next week. He has already said that he wants to be a Marine Biologist, so I want him to have some time away from the younger two to enjoy the Rays and other marine creatures.

Lauren has her third riding lesson today. Nova Quarter Horse Stable, in Mokena, does "pee-wee" lessons for 5 and under. She is doing a great job, and DH and I are already thinking about placing her in a regular begginers class.

If anyone is interested, I can post the upcoming sale info for Yankee Candle tonight, or tomorrow. It would also include the scents that are being retired and new scents coming out.

Quicky by-fly...oops, fly-by! Congratulations Amy on another little Disney princess!:cool1:

I can't believe it's gotten this cold out this afternoon!!! Where did summer go??:confused3

Hope you're all having a great day!:)
