Debbie :cake: :bday:

Becky :cake: :bday: Sorry I missed your birthday.

Things have been crazy busy at work, I hate the end of the quarter.
We are going to try to go the Brookfield zoo tomorrow. I'll brave the cicada invasion. Alex doesn't do bugs well, so we will have to see how it goes. I hear some area's of the zoo have some then other parts none. So go ahead which areas do you think I'll be in?

Well time to start the chores and get breakfast going. Looks like the sun is trying to come out.

Tonight we are celebrating our 12th wedding anniversary, which is technically tomorrow. Kevin and I are going to downtown Chicago, and having dinner at Weber Grill:goodvibes . My MIL and FIL are keeping the girls overnight, which is great, because now we don't have to feel like we need to rush home :teeth: It should be a very nice night!!!! :goodvibes

Mac - :wave2:

paint - good luck with packing :wizard: That's always such a huge job!!!

geffric - :wave2:

Tiggerrrrrrrrn - Stephanie won't be doing much in school next week either :sad2: She has no more spelling, and no more reading assignments (I'm not complaining, because this week coming up is going to be a week from hell with getting the store ready for our Grand Opening celebration Friday night, the Grand Opening itself, dance recital pictures, dance recital dress rehearsal, the recital itself, and more :faint: )
**I'm sorry I haven't answered your PM yet. I will soon!!!!:)

Bunchkin - Good luck with planning your troop campout next Friday:wizard: .
I bet the kids will really love doing this
*How does your mouth feel today? Lots of PD for it to feel better soon!:wizard:

Becky - What your DS has sounds very familiar to what I had when I was younger. I had my tonsils out when I was 19 because of that, and I was so much better afterwards:thumbsup2 I hope he's better soon!!! :wizard:

Good Saturday afternoon. It is absolutely beautiful here today. I'm at my neighbors pool with the kids and thought I'd stop by for a quick hello.I'm so far behind with everyone. I haven't been on in a while. We had a neighborhood sale yesterday and today. We made almost $300:teacher: Yea! Disney money.

Slo did it scare you to get a alarm call in the night? Have fun in Chicago. We've eaten there once. Very good. Also congratulations.:cheer2:

Becky hope your dd feels better soon. It stinks with school almost done.

Happy Birthday:yay: :yay:

Debbie 6211 Have a wonderful trip. Cann't wait to hear all about it.

Happy Birthday:cool1: :cool1:

slo, how long did it take you to heal and feel better when you had your tonsils removed?

one of my sons is planning to have that done and thinks it will be outpatient surgery and just about 5 days for healing. i have no idea. how was it for you?

Good morning everyone! It's sunny here I hope it doesn't rain, were supposed to go to the zoo today.

Hope everyone is sleeping in today. :thumbsup2

Try to check back in later we are going to get to the zoo early today.

good morning chicagoland homies ..... :yay:

going to church soon, got your backs for the week.

heard it will get hot in the middle of this week.
yay.....bring on summer!

Thanks for the happy anniversary wishes!!! :goodvibes

We had a very lovely evening!!
We walked around downtown, and did a little browsing through stores.
Then we went out to dinner, and our dinner was fabulous as normal from the Weber Grill:thumbsup2
Afterwards, we did some more walking, and then did a 1 hour carriage ride - very romantic!:cloud9:
Then we had a sundae at Ghiradellis and came home

This morning we are going to take advantage of the girls being at my MIL's and go see Pirates III - I am so excited!!! I bought a new Pirates shirt that I'm going to wear that says "I Love Jack". I wasn't going to buy it last night, but Kevin talked me into it :)

Well, I gotta go get ready for the show
Have a good day today!!!

It took me a long time to heal :guilty:
I was home longer than 5 days, but my job (at the other frame shop) required alot of talking with customers, and my throat hurt soooo..... bad!!!! (and I am not a baby:sad2: ) But if I had a job that didn't require alot of talking I could have gone back to work in 5 days. It reallly depends on what your son does at his job.

Is your son planning on doing this during the summer?

thanks slo.
my oldest son has been told by 2 doctors to have the tonsils removed as they are enlarged and he has trouble breathing at night.

his job includes lot of phone work, almost 7 hours a day. the doc said it might take a month for full recovery for what his job entails. i thought that was nonsense but i guess he is correct. i think he thought he would be off work about 3 weeks to 4 weeks tops once he has the surgery. he is in his 20's and has been told to have the surgery for the last 6 years. he sees the surgeon on june 12

thanks for anything you can give me a heads up on.

and, happy anniversary today!
seeing the movie is a great way to top off this wonderful anniversary weekend for you and mr slo.

Good morning-

Slo- Happy Anniversary to you and Kevin :bride: :firefight

Mac- Chrissy has enlarged tonsils, she was born with enlarged tonsils. But since she has no trouble with breathing, her Drs. told her to keep her tonsils in, no surgery for her so far.
Since your DS is having problems breathing, he should have the surgery. I think it takes longer for adults to heal from a tonsilectomy than for kids.
I think kids bounce back easier from that type of surgery than adults do.
Keep me posted on DS's surgical consultation.

digitaldevice- have fun at the Rockford airshow today!

Good morning all!!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!!! :goodvibes

Last night we stayed up waaaayyyy too late with the 'nice' neighbors around us have a fire in the fire pit and talking.
At the same time the 'evil' neighbor behind us was having one of their usual loud parties. They were going strong still at 2am!!!!!!!!! :headache:
Next time I'm not being nice!! I'm tired of dealing with them...and so is everyone else around us. We're not the only one's they are driving crazy!

slo Hope you have a wonderful anniversary!!! Sounds like last night was great!!!
Have fun at the movie!!!

Hersey Have fun at the zoo!!!! Going to the dolphin show?

mac I hope your son has a speedy recovery post-op!!!!

digitaldevice Blue Angles...cool!!! Have fun!!!

Lots to do for us today!!!!
Hope everyone has a great Sunday!!! Enjoy it before the rain comes this afternoon!!! :umbrella:

Hey, Chicagoland!

Debbie...gone already, but hope you have/had an awesome trip!

Slo..sorry to hear about your alarm prob...hope that gets fixed right up soon! Happy anniversary to you and your hubby! I like the Weber Grill, and glad to hear you guys enjoyed your meal there. The shirt you got sounds cool, and I hope you like the movie!

Bunchkin...ouch for your dental stuff..It's good you guys have "nice" neighbors to balance out the "not so nice" ones...

Mac...all the best for your son. I hope that whatever course of action you guys choose that he feels better fast, with easy healing.

Hersey..hope you and Alex have a great time at the zoo today!!!

Today was the 5K race in our town...Christopher ran, but didn't do as well as he wanted to (his time was under 30 minutes, so *I* think it was good) but he didn't train as much as usual since he had the dental stuff done. This afernoon is the parade, and the hs band that Brian directs is participating...I just pray that the rain holds off until tonight!!!

So...I made reservations for my birthday trip to Mackinac Island!!! We are planning on driving up next Saturday, staying overnight at the Chippewa Waterfront Hotel on Sat & Sun (on the island) and then Monday (my birthday), I found a special rate on-line for the GRAND HOTEL!!! I am so excited to actually be able to *stay* at the Grand Hotel!!! Then, we are thinking of possibly stopping in Frankenmuth, MI on the way back (it is a themed German town--any of you been there?) Anyway, I am nervous & excited about the trip all at the same time, because I am the type of person who gets scared with change, and this is ALL going to be new for me!!! But, going to Mackinac is something I have wanted to do ever since I saw "Somewhere in Time"!

Hope you are ALL having a good weekend...talk soon!!!:cool1:

Hi all
sorry its been such a while since I posted last, but things have been so hectic lately. The long and the short of it is we decided Hyde Park was no longer a safe place to live in and have decided to move out west to Oak Park. We found a place just yesterday and plan to move next month. We are pretty excited about it actually. It means an hour commute one way for me every day but it won't be so bad (I hope). We are moving to greener pastures.
Any chicagoland Disers reside in Oak Park?
anyway gotta run-ttfn!

thanks slo.

Mac, be sure to tell him he needs to keep drinking ice cold things frequently. Tonsils in adults tend to have swelling/bleeding probs much more so than in kids and if he does not keep the cold things going down, they will swell/bleed on him and cause him more trouble. Yes, it will hurt like mad, but if he doesn't do it, he will be much worse. Encourage him to also ask for liquid paid relief meds. It will be hard to swallow even that little pill.
Hope that helps.

Good evening all.
Hope you all had a great weekend. Did it rain by any of you? Only a shower here early morning and nothing else.
Hersey, did you have a nice day at the zoo? I think we will be going the 13th if the weather cooperates. Anyone want to join us?
Slo, party: Happy Anniversary. Did you and your DH enjoy pirate: ? Thanks for the PM.
Donna hope you have a great birthday trip. We have been to Frankenmuth years ago. There is a lot of Christmas stuff there. Bought some beautiful ornaments. We were there in the winter, though. I bet is much nicer to explore when the weather is nice.
Well, tired after my weekend of work so turning in.
Hi to Rose, Bunchkin, PoohLM, digitaldevice, and everyone else. PrincessMindy,HELLO. Welcome back to the thread.
Sk8Leigh, where are you?
Jedi, where are you?
Night.
