Everyone must be out enjoying the beautiful weather and longer daylight.

Poo. I'm working.

Don't worry, Carmen, I'm packing, which has to be at least as little fun as working. ;) :goodvibes

I'm also working on putting my pictures onto CDs. I'm behind, back to my Disneyland trip from September, but hopefully I'll get caught up. I need to upload my house pictures! I finally got to see it Friday. It's mostly done, but I'm going to have a gravel driveway and no landscaping until about May. :sad2: Oh well, the house is primarily done, except for a few things we ran across that they're going to fix. Then I'll have another year to tell them other things to fix. I have a feeling I'm really going to be a pain about that stuff. :rotfl:

It's neat. I really like my fireplace. I have my bedroom all plotted out for where I want to put stuff, and we took some measurements and now I have the guest bedroom done, I think. And there's more room in the front hallway than I had realized, so I might eventually be able to put a china cabinet there, or my curio cabinet and replace that with a china cabinet. I didn't think I would have room for one, because the dining room has big windows so there's not enough room by the wall.

So now I'm packing. I put all my plush (ie, stuffed toys :rotfl: ) in big Disney bags. It took 6 bags! :rolleyes1 My dad really freaks out about things like that, but soon he won't be able to say anything, because they'll be in my own house. :cool1: Now I'm packing up videotapes, in addition to moving my pictures from their cards to the computer. I'd better get back to it! :headache:

Later! (Hang in there, Carmen! :goodvibes )

good afternoon chicagoland homies..........:yay:

bunchkin, i have carpal tunnel and my brother had surgery on both wrists for it.

in order for me to use my computer pain free, i have the two piece mouse pad. the top is a cycliinder shaped pad about 2 inches high and it is velcroed to the mouse pad. i need it raised and use my wrist movements little as possible. i wear braces on both wrists at night when i go to bed. it keeps the wrists immobilized and then the swelling stays down.
when the tissues swell and put pressure on that nerve in the arm/wrist, you have the discomfort and pain that goes with carpal tunnel.

the doc had me buy my wrist immobilizers at osco, they have them at walgreens also. i had to buy the more expensive ones, about $30 that fit hand specific. bought 2, one for left and right hands.

i also have the glove ones that fits almost like the half glove that is used in some sports. it covers the palm, wrist but not the fingers. that works well with me during warm weather.
i've had shots, use the gloves now and next step is the surgery.
cp can return. it did on my brother on one of his wrists. i am avoiding the surgery.
wrist movement aggravates cp bunchkin as you have figured out already.

carmen, i'm stuck in the house. i guess that is just as bad as being stuck at work. son home for spring break and i am starting dinner. i fix his favorite foods when he is home and everything he wants tonight is a process for me to put together. but, he is worth it.

still have kathy in my prayers.

i forgot what else i was going to say.
oh yea, sk8leigh, glad you love your new place.

Hi Guys!
How was everyone’s weekend?
I am OK. DH and my Dad set up TIVO today, which is very exciting!
Haven't looked at vacation plans or been on the computer much today.
Hey...Have I told you guys about the bow Disfriend I found on Ebay. She makes incredible girls hair bows! You must look! If you do want something just contact her and tell her I sent you! She is actually the one who told me about the DISBOARDS! She is super sweet. I have bought like a billion bows off of her for my Disney trips and for all the holidays.
http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZlilahsmommyQQhtZ-1

That time change is going to really kick me in the pants with my DDs already terrible sleep schedule! Yikes!:scared1:  :headache: :sad2:

Hello everyone,

I have no way of getting caught up -- I skimmed but being busy all weekend, I know I can't catch up with everything here.

We had a crazy weekend...DD had a gymnastics competition on Saturday as well as turning 13 :scared: :faint: I tried to convince her to be 12 for a 2nd time, just like her dad is 29 (again & again & again! ;) ). She didn't go for it. She did win 1st place though in her group, so that was fantastic. She had a really good meet.

Then today, she had a cheerleading meet. They won 1st place which was great again!!

And now I'm exhausted between the time change, running around to the meets, sitting at the meets for a long time, attempting to get mini cakes made for BOTH meets since my DD wanted to give out treats at both meets, I can finally stop and relax for a minute.

I think life goes on semi-slow motion now until spring break. I'm really looking forward to that, so I hope these 2 weeks go by fast.

With the time change, I forgot to eat dinner! :rotfl: It was already 9 and I figured it was too late to cook something (meaning: I was too lazy to cook something), so it was cereal to the rescue. :cool1:

Good evening everyone.
I worked all weekend-missed the great weather.:sad2:
DH was working on the computer, so I caught up on all your posts tonight, but don't have the energy to reply to all.
Did want to say to Bunchkin, as did Mac, carpal tunnel is a pain in the butt. I had it with both pregnancies. It went away after the first, but had it in both hands with the second, and it never went away for me in the right. Which stinks since I am right-handed. I, too, sleep with a brace at night. If I don't, I just get woke up over and over by my hand going numb and aching.
DBIL is a surgeon and he keeps telling me to go have it looked at. DH had tests done for it. He said the tests were awful. I don't care for pain, therefore, the brace works well enough:rotfl2:
You will definately notice it more with repetative actions (such as computer typing or writing a lot). It helps to avoid anything that makes you retain water (such as salty foods or adding salt to your foods). That helps keep the excess fluid from the tissues and keeps the nerves from being pinched. Try the brace. Works well. As Mac said, you can get them at the drugstores.
Slo, great to finally meet you as well. Hope we get the chance to get the girls together soon. And I think I said Kellie would be 8 in April. Have to laugh at myself. She'll be 9. Where does the time go.:confused3
Leigh, don't let them ever talk you out of complaining about things they need to fix. You paid lots of $$$$ and they should fix whatever they did or do wrong or incorrect!!! Plus, they won't volunteer to fix stuff even if they know it's not right, so you have to be sure to keep a running list so you don't forget to mention things and so you have proof that they were told before your year of free fixings are up. Just a little something I discovered from a friend with a bad builder experience.
Hope everyone with Fun Fair and Baquets and dinners out had a great time this weekend. Working a time change weekend is the worst. Jedi, I feel your pain!!!
Hi and bye all. Talk to you tomorrow.

Grrrrr... can you believe Comcast in Chicago doesn't have the Travel Channel available???

I am really loving this time change this early ::yes::
Normally, I get so used to it being light out when I get up, that it's a real bummer when it's dark again. This year, I didn't get used to it, and now it's no big deal. Plus, it was so nice having it light out longer yesterday - that makes me feel like spring is almost here!!!:flower2:

Jedi - I'm sorry you had to work yesterday:guilty:

Leigh - Very nice pictures!!!! :goodvibes This is all so exciting!!!! I do love the fireplace!! What is that seperating? Is it a dining room and living room? I bet you are so excited!!!

macraven - Thanks for keeping Kathy in your prayers :)

Debbie - Thanks for the link about the bows - they are beautiful!!!! :)
You are going to love your TIVO - we do!!! ::yes::

Becky - Congratulations to your DD winning her gymnastics meet!!!! :cheer2:

Tiggerrnnn - Getting the girls together someday will be a great!!! :)

Well, I gotta go get ready for work
Have a good day today everyone!!!

morning chicagoland homies.....

carmen, move to lake county. comcast carries the travel channel..

but, the sci fi channel was dropped from this area some years back.
bummer.

slo, how is kathy doing at this point.

took the day off work since son is home. of course, he will probably sleep until noon, but i'll be here when he wakes up!

hope everyone has a great day

Good morning all. The painter finished the main living areas yesterday, so today I can put things back and work on the weekend worth of laundry. Kids played out yesterday, so I have lots of muddy laundry to deal with.
Becky, congrats to your DD on her cheer and gymnastics.
Leigh, the pictures are wonderful. When can you move all your stuff in?
Mac, thanks for the listings once again. Wish I could get the Discovery HD. The one show I see on the listings over and over is one I can't see. It was on last week. I wish they would just show it on regular Discovery as well.
Well, better get a move on. Going to try to get an early start on the clean up.

Leigh Wow! I'm jealous I want to move if only to get a clean house.:lmao:

Oh by the way do the 2 people at the end come with the place?;) Nice picture of Mom and Dad.

Hello!! :wave2:

I hope everyone had a good weekend! :teeth:

Went to the school district's Fun Fair on Sat and it was.......fun! ;)
And on Sun we went to Bass Pro Shop in Portage IN. for the Spring Fishing thingy. :rotfl: Tony stocked up on various items I have no interest in!! :lmao: The great find of the day, IMO, was Lauren locating Jibbitz' in the Croc section of the footwear dept.!!! :cool1:

Earlier I got to help out at Hunter's preschool class with the computer! It is something new they are starting to try to get the kiddies used to using a computer. I was the first volunteer picked.
I sent time with 3 little one's including Hunter, and they all new how to use the computer! OF COURSE!!! :rotfl: Times are a changin'!!

Then I got to shoot to the grocery store.

So I need to go pick up Frodo soon! :)

Leigh Great pictures of your house!!!
Your mom and dad are soooo cute!! :cutie:

Debbie Thanks for that Ebay link! Love those bows! But I think DD would never wear them, she's getting too big for that stuff. :sad2: :sad1:

macraven Thanks for posting the tv times again!! :yay:
What did you make your son for dinner the other night that was his favorite??
Thanks for your input on carpal tunnel.

Tiggerrn When you run out of rooms to clean, please come here!! And thanks for your input on carpal tunnel too. I think I'll go and look for a brace.

jedi You can come over here and watch the Travel Channel!! ;)

Gotta run!!

Have a great afternoon all!!! :wave2:

I actually went out without a jacket! I went over to Chipotle for my FREE lunch - someone here dropped their business card in the drawing and won us all free lunch today! I went over to grab something before work (I started at 12:30) and then remembered I had given up meat for Lent - DOH!

I was contemplating either breaking that, or leaving. Then I decided to go ahead and give the Vegetarian tacos a try. I'm glad I did! Now I realize that what appeals to me about Mexican food is the condiments and seasoning - not the meat. :rotfl: It was just as yummy because of the guac, sour cream, cheese, tomatoes.....:goodvibes :thumbsup2

I also got my passport in the mail today!! I have nowhere to go at the moment, but I'm still excited to have it now. :woohoo:

I'm feeling pretty good today. DH is in Vegas (you know, the travel king) auditioning for a reality tv show ABC is going to have about celebrity impersonators.

sk8leigh - nice pictures! I like the fireplace and how is has 3 sides!! (it IS 3 sides, right, and not a mirror behind it?? :rotfl: )

mac and bunchkin- Comcast is evil. I hate them. But at the same time, I'm stuck with them. I actually tried to switch to satellite once and when they came to install it, they claimed I wouldn't get a signal. 3 other tenants in my building have satellite from that SAME company!! :confused3 The guy actually said "You better call Comcast back - they'll be happy to have you" I was furious. Of course, Toby dealt with them and he's just like "OK" and didn't even argue it. I was at work, madder than heck. Oh well. I have my Internet connection through them, too. I told them to cancel it when DH moved but they never did. And I'm too lazy to cancel it again because then I'd have to sign up for DSL and get that set up. :sad2:

I have only checked in on this thread a few times before but I am saddened tonight by news that friends and I found out today. The Chicago Apartment fire that killed the 4 young adults from Belvidere has touched closer to my heart then wanted. I worked with one of the young guys that was killed early Saturday morning. Jerod Pilgreen was 22 and a very passionate person for life. He worked as a CNA in a Nursing home that I work at. The residents just loved him to death and they are all very devasted by the loss of such a great person. He is going to be missed so much!!!! He had the most amazing smile and heart that went along with it.
If any of you live close enough to accident site, could you stop by and put a flower down for us here that wish we could stop by and say goodbye. Or maybe just stop and say a prayer for his family and close friends. At least he left this world with friends in tow, they were a very close nit group of friends.
Thanks for listening:sad1:
