Hey all. I"m home:sad1:

What a awesome trip. I will be working on my trip report over the weekend. I also have some great pictures.

I bought a additional DVC while I was there at the new AKL. I can't wait to use it.

Bunchkin and SamIAm- have a great trip. I hope the weather is as great as it was for me.

Well I am already planning our next trip AUgust 12th - August 17th. Pirate and Princess party and a quick fix before school starts.

I will catch up on all i've missed over the pass few weeks. I hope all is well.

:welcome: home!!!!!!!

welcome back home.

i thought you were going to bring us some sunshine..........

Unfortunately the peanut natzis(my kids' teachers) wouldn't let my kids pass out their treats for their classmates I bought yest. :sad2:
There is a peanut ban at our school for this school yr. Tho I bought Milky Way mini snack chocolate bars, which DO NOT have peanuts in them. But because the bags they came in and the individual wrappers say may contain peanuts, they were banned! My kids came home with the bags unopened. And I was like, "what happened?" DD and DS were a little uspet and said the teachers wouldn't let them pass them out b/c the packages say "may contain peanuts". I know my kids have came home with Milky Way and Snickers(has peanuts) and other snack chocolate bars from school from their school Halloween parties and Valentine's Day, so not sure why they couldn't pass out their Milky Ways? :confused3  I guess their teachers didn't want a lawsuit on their hands I suppose?

Peanut allergies seem to have gotten really bad lately. I used to work in a daycare in MN - in the 4 year old room. I had one little girl who went to a special school one day a week. The days she went to that school our daycare was not even allowed to serve anything peanut butter. Apparently, there was another child in the other school with a peanut allergy. This child was so allergic that even just the smell of it could send him/her to the hospital.

There is a little boy in DD's pre-school class who has a peanut allergy. We have to be very careful what we bring into their class. On a field trip we were all told we couldn't pack peanut butter snadwiches for our kids. One parent did and they had to get two separate tables (on opposite sides of the room) for our group. We were given a list of approved snacks we could bring into the class during parties. The list includes items like:

Fruit
Veggies
Pretzels (only certain brands)
Goldfish crackers
Cheese

and...

Twinkies???? :confused3

We all laughed at the last one. Fruit, veggies and Twinkies???? :lmao: Having a very annoying allergy to walnuts, I feel for the ones who have severe peanut/nut allergies. Thankfully, right now, mine only bothers me if I eat the walnuts. I bit into a chocolate chip cookie at Christmas and had no idea they had walnuts (they were very finely chopped). The inside of my mouth immediately started to swell and burn. Not fun!!

Anyway......I miss the days when we could take anything in for treats. I'm sorry your kids couldn't share their's.

Evening all (late)
Today feels more like a Saturday than a Friday.

Than later I have to make some hard boiled eggs so the girls can decorate them tomorrow -they are very anxious to do that!!! :)
ITA about the Sat/Fri feeling!!!

Eggs are hard-boiled already. I'm the year-round QUEEN of hard-boiling eggs, seriously! We're coloring/decorating Sat also, after soccer.

SLO...I miss the days when we used to do egg coloring with the kids....I know you will cherish those special moments with your girls!

KIM...all the best for the surgery (did you say it was on Monday?) I will keep you guys in my thoughts and prayers.
CHERISH?!?! :lmao: You need GKs Donna! ;) Coloring is MESSY!!!!!! :rotfl2:

Yes, surgery is Monday. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Donna - Coloring the eggs is always fun, but I have to admit, I don't like making the hard boiled eggs. I don't know why, I just do - weird I know
I have, in my DIS history, actually posted threads on boiling the perfect eggs. Trust me, it works or I wouldn't have posted it. ;) It isn't so much about the different boiling methods and minutes but, it's actually about buying the eggs about 2 or more weeks BEFORE you boil them - I SWEAR! :thumbsup2

Blessed, HOPPY Easter to everyone! :grouphug:

Good morning. I hope everyone has a great Easter. We will probably be busy tomorrow so I thought I would say it now.

I think I sprained my wrist counting, folding, stuffing tickets inside those envelopes. At least that part is done until monday night when we go for round 2. I think when sleepy head gets up we'll head out for a brace or something for my wrist. I'm not liking this getting old body parts.

Maybe I was jinxed I received my 30 yr class reunion. I didn't go to any of my others not sure if I want to see anyone.

Later I will be baking a cheesecake for Easter dinner by my Aunt and Uncle.

Holy Cow - I think I'm allergic to the tape the physical therapist is using to tape my knee caps in place. Yesterday they were itching itching itching:crazy: So I finally ripped off the tape last night and you should see how red it is where the tape was. I couldn't stop itching them after I took off the tape - I was like a mad woman. Then last night I woke up at 3am with my knees on fire with the itching. So I put this calming cream on them, and that helped them feel better enough to go to sleep. Now this morning they are still horribly red and itching like you wouldn't believe. It's driving me crazy  So, I don't think I'm going to be able to have my knees taped anymore :sad2: But the therapists said she wanted me to use a knee brace anyway - just in time:rolleyes:

Debbie - That's great you got your computer back :)
**I can't believe this cold weather either - definitly doesn't feel like spring:sad2:

Becky - Stephanie is going to have to wear a sweater too ::yes:: It's to bad, because her dress is beautiful.

Disneynut - Welcome home!!!! :) I'm looking forward to seeing your trip report and pictures.

mvazul - I've used Goldfish before too :thumbsup2

Mac - Some Florida sunshine would be great right now :sunny: ::yes::

Kim - I've heard that before about the older eggs, but I never think to buy them that far ahead of time. We always have eggs in the house, but we use them alot (French toast, scrambled eggs, etc). I need to preplan better next year.

HERSEY - I'm sorry to hear about your wrist - I hope it feels better soon:wizard:
**I've never been to any of my class reunions either - I don't want to see them either:sad2:

Well, I better go and get some breakfast in the girls
Have a good day today everyone!!

I think I vaguely remember that thread. Do you think I am smart enough to get the eggs ahead of time? Nope -- too much of a procrastinator. I bought eggs last night (or would that be this morning? since it was around midnight). :rotfl:

I solved my who to give Sally to dilemna! I was at the store last night & just bought another Luigi! :lmao: I will give Lightening & Sally to the 3 year old then the older boys will both get Luigi. Problem solved and more money spent.

I tell you I think the guy at Meijer in the toy department thought I had lost my mind. I'm sitting there just blankly staring at toys to which he asked if he could help me. I think he passed me about 10 times (I did have to ask where the Legos were at one point because I knew they *HAD* to have them but I couldn't find them). He was very peppy/nice though. I was going in my head how many items each person was getting & trying not to spend too much. I was also debating on if I should go ahead and get my 3 year old a game that is really for 6 year old +. I ended up getting it. I know he won't understand the directions exactly but they can modify the game. It's the Tractor Tipping one with Mater. Considering my 3 year old has had to deal with regular small Legos in the house, I'm not concerned about the small pieces.

Nothing like getting home late & then getting up early. Par for the course though. I didn't go to bed until about 1:30 AM and the kids woke me up at 7 AM. I'm trying to get my bearings together and then I have to sew the Easter baskets. I'm still trying to figure out how to put those together as I'm completely winging it. I have no pattern or directions. :rotfl: They can't possibly be any more complicated than DD's dress.

Becky Sewing Easter baskets I never heard of that before. Alex informed me he is too old for a basket. He really doesn't like the candy, Yes he is from Mars. I keep him cause he likes to go to WDW with me.;)

Well....it was just me & my grandiose brain that gets me in trouble. :lmao: Somehow I got in charge of an Easter egg hunt, my SIL said she found felt bags the kids could use. My brain thought, well, I could sew something for that -- then it basically is turning into a cloth basket. I tend to use paper bags as Easter baskets & DD asked if we could use these as "real" baskets this year for the Easter bunny to use. :lmao:

Basically I bought some Easter fabric, then some 8" cake circles I'm going to use as the bottom -- cover those in fabric, do the sides in fabric with some batting (I think that's stiffer than stuffing???) and then originally I bought some purse handles to add as handles but they will be too small, so take some left over fabric stuff them as handles. In my HEAD I can visualize it and it seems easy enough. WHAT they end up looking like in reality is anyone's guess. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

So, I have to make up 6 of them -- 4 for my kids, then 2 for my niece & nephew. All the boys have the same fabric but I got Pooh bear for DD & then a nice purple fabric with eggs on it for my niece.

I should probably start on those as it's already 9:30 now -- I got sucked into watching a video from mousefiles that was a Disney Wedding show. We saw it before on TV but DD wanted to watch it too & then the one on wedding cakes. That was so much more important than sewing. :lmao: :lmao:

good saturday morning chicagoland homies...
it is spitting snow up here in my town.

kim raye: i always put a couple teaspoons of vinegar in the boiling water when i hard boil my eggs.

it makes the yolk stay centered in the middle of the egg then.

Hi everyone! :wave2: I've been really busy at work all week, so I haven't been on the Dis in a couple of days, and I'm not caught up. But hopefully all of your are doing well. :goodvibes

I'm getting last of my stuff ready to take over to my house this weekend, and I'll really move in. I don't have internet now, so I won't be online from there. I'm getting DSL on Monday, so hopefully I'll be back up then. :thumbsup2

Talk to you later, and have a good Easter and Passover! :sunny:

Hi all!!

We just got back from confession (my first one in 14 years) and now I'm baking some chocolate chip cookies for tomorrow (or today ;) )

My legs are still on fire, and it's really driving me crazy  I want to just sit and scratch them, but that only makes it worse

Becky - Good luck with sewing the Easter baskets :wizard:

HERSEY - Tell Alex he's never to old for an Easter basket. :goodvibes

Mac - I never heard that before about the vinegar in the water. I will have to try that sometime.:thumbsup2

Leigh - Good luck with the last items to move - how exciting:yay: !!!! How are your parents taking you moving out? I bet they are sad and excited at the same time.:sad1: :woohoo:

Well, I better go check on my cookies
Later gaters!!

Slo Try benadryl. I had a reaction like that after I had Alex. Boy was I miserable. I hope it goes away soon. You could try an oatmeal bath like when you get chickpox.

Leigh Hopefully you will get all settled soon.

Thanks Janice!!

But I'm not sure if I can it because I already take Zyrtec. I'm not sure if mixing the 2 would be a bad thing  I'm about ready to pull every hair out of my head

Sandy, try hydrocortisone cream. Sounds like you need a topical cream.
Either the hydrocortisone 1% or 2% should help.
Not sure if Benadryl has a topical cream out on hte market. I think they do, but not sure.
I've used hydrocortisone cream on hte kids, for small rashes, etc.
Helps clear up some of that stuff.

Hope you feel better soon!

Hi all-
HAPPY EASTER to all the Chicago DISers!!

Went to Easter church service this afternoon. Tomorrow we go to the nursing home and eat an early Easter dinner with my grandma and my parents. My mom usually reserves the conference room in the nursing home, so we can have a private meal with my parents and grandma.
My mom caters in food from a certain restaurant she likes.

Disneynut71- Welcome back!! Seems like you have been gone about 2 weeks. Has it been that long? Glad you and your kids had a good time at the World!

Leigh- glad things are going well with your move!

mvazul- I miss the days that we can bring any treats to class, too!
Oh well, it's over with. More chocolate for us at home

Hi to Mac, Slo, Becky, KimRaye,Hersey, Debbie Tiggerrn, and anyone else I missed :wave2:

Got to work on Easter baskets tonight!

sandy, i have psoriasis and have to soak in aveeno powder frequently when i have a rash from a flare up.

aveeno has an oatmeal base to it. soak in warm water with aveeno in the tub for 20 minutes and it lessens the rash and takes away the redness and itching.

it's used for skin conditions, chicken pox, all rashes, that type of stuff.

it comes in a box and has separate packets. empty one packet in the water with it running. make sure all the powder dissolves.

and hi everyone! :yay:

doctor mac has spoken.......:rolleyes1

ps, do try the vinegar in boiling water with the eggs. for some magic reason it keeps the yoke centered in the egg. i do this when i make deviled eggs.

Have a wonderful Easter tomorrow everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!

what debbie said.

going to sunrise service in the morning.
if you sleep in, i got your back for the week:thumbsup2

Happy Easter everyone!!

I never heard that before. The vinegar doesn't make the eggs taste funny at all I guess?? :confused3

We just got back from confession (my first one in 14 years)
And you're home already??? :lmao: Just Kidding!!!! That was too funny to pass up. ;)

I better go hide an Easter Basket. ;) Already hid a dozen plastic eggs. :thumbsup2
