I WILL wave and we WILL have to meet you there one of these days! We always go to that one when you get off at 20 but I could stop by yours! I DO like desert but I have to eat that food! I LOVE the chicken tenders!

Hey...where is SLO anyway! She is in for a big surprise with all these posts!!

Oh... just to whine a little more before I go to bed....
DH not only doesn't get paid because he is serving jury duty but has to pay $26.00 in parking! The goverment will pay him $40.00 for the day! It was $18.00 before which was bad enough but now they don't want him down there until 10:00 so he misses the early bird rates! I am mad. If my DH is going to not get paid because he is off of work I want it to be because we are on vacation!!!
Thanks for listening! I don't know who else will!

Hey the DISBOARDS clock is way off isn't it! Or am I just going crazy!
Good night everyone!

Hello everybody! I need food recommendations for this weekend. Bf and I want to try something different. Thai, Moroccan, Sushi, Jerk...where should we go? We are in the Joliet area and would like to stay out of the city and northern burbs. Where should we go? Anyone been to Dixie Kitchen? I have been hearing the ad on the radio and was thinking of trying it.

Hope everyone is doing well. Things are okay here. No WDW trip in the works, but I am hoping for free dining in Aug. I can bear the heat and humidity for that deal again! My sis is already planning her return trip. She is planning on staying at Wilderness Lodge. She will be in for a treat. They normally stay at POP! I'd be happy at any hotel. Heck, I'd sleep in my car. That's how bad I am jonesing right now!

Rose- DS had his first blue and gold the other weekend. Their skit was the cutest, but, then again, anything the Tigers do is pretty cute.
Jedi- Hang in there. I am recently divorced. It will get better.:)
Bunchkin- We never made it to AG Place. DD is having issues staying in her bed. We have implemented a reward system. Hopefully, she can earn her way there. Yep, it's bribery, but I need my sleep.

Hi Paint I know a great Thai restaurant in Geneva I'll have to think of the name. Let me know it really good, not fancy (jeans) and best of all cheap. Oh no liquor license, if that's important.

Good morning all new and old friends. :wave2:

Our beautiful weather is going away again. That's why I don't like March it's such a tease. ;)

Slo happy reading!

i think slo will faint when she comes back and sees how many pages we have covered today.

This is so funny!!!! :rotfl:

I read a couple of pages yesterday, and when I came on today, this is the first post I look at. To funny!!!! :lmao:

This morning this cripple is going to see the Orthopedic.
I'm hoping to not hear anything I don't want to hear.
I'll keep you all posted on what he says after I find out.

HERSEY - Congrats to Alex on such a good grade :cheer2: I wouldn't of bought the program you talked about either :sad2: I think it's sad that the teacher would you expect you to have it.

mermaidlady and Patrick - Good to see you again!!! :wave2: Please visit again soon!!!

Bunchkin - That date is good for me :thumbsup2 I already wrote it down!!!:woohoo:

Jedi - How did he makeout with the show? I'm assuming that if he's back, he didn't get picked.

Tiggerrnnn said:
Happy reading, Sandy!!!
Thanks!!! :faint:
I actually feel bad for not commenting more, but I don't have that much time this morning, since I have to get ready for this doctors appt.

Well, I gotta get my buns in the shower.
My mom will be here at 8:15am and I still have to get Steph and out the door to school:teacher: Hopefully I will have a chance to chat later, but we'll see how the day goes - I gotta alot of things going on right now.

Have a good day!!!

Good Morning all:wave2:

I have missed you all. It's always nice to come back.

Welcome all the newbies :welcome:

Bunchkin We would like to attend the meet on the 28th. We love bowling!

Sk8leigh The Pictures of your house look great!

Now I have a question. For our upcoming trip (which I bumped up 2 days, so we we be there in 5 now) I bought Disney Crocs. My DD pink and white ones, DS Red and black ones and for myself black and red. My son decided to wear his to school yesterday and he got picked on which I can understand that's how it is in 5th grade. My step-mother told him that Crocs are girl shoes and that's why. I am surprised to hear this and wonder what your thoughts are on it. Please be honest. If that is how they are viewed I wouldn't want anyone else to pick on him. He loves them and still wants to wear them next week. Thank you for your help.

Be back later.

Have a great day all:hippie:

Morning..

Disneynut71 I think that Crocs are for everyone..well everyone that is that likes plastic shoes..

SLO good luck at the Dr this am

Jedi glad that Toby is back so you don't have to worry about him..:grouphug: But what is with the call from Miami?. Are you okay. .

Bunchkin I am not gonna make the meet on the 28th of April.I know, I said it was one of the dates that was okay.. but since Geoff is not doing his Eagle project this weekend, he moved it to the 28thb of April. That was the first open weekend he could schedule it as the Boy scouts have so many things planned until then.

macraven can mr mac expense the Limo cost? that is awfully costly...did he get home okay?

Debbie6221 can't you DH take a train to get downtown.. Or drive to the L and park there and take that downtown? The parking and driving Downtown is crazy..

off to work for awhile..

a very good wednesday morning to all my chicagoland homies.........

ok, it's wake up time, fall in for roll call.......jk
we just pass through here during the day and see how everyone else is doing.

i'm not the person to answer the crocs question........i hate crocs i know, so un disneylike isn't it..........

geffric, yes, it put it as business expense. they ate at Mortons downtown and that place isn't cheap. another business expense covered by the other company. have you sent out any resumes yet? are things picking up for you on your current job?

taking today off work. saw on the news where 30 will be the high on saturday......
let's hope tom skilling is off on that one or is passes us by.

catch you later gator

forgot to add:

slo good luck with Mr. Orco/sp Orko man......wait, or is it Mr Ortho man today...

let us know how it went

Slo- Good luck at the dr!
Hersey- Thanks! Doesn't need to be fancy at all. I just care about good food!

Looks rainy today, but at least it's not cold yet. I have to work on papers. 7 pager due Tues, and a rewrite due in 2 weeks. It was my first bad grade, but 3/4 of the class got a bad grade. She did not tell us, specifically, what she wanted, so only the people who had her before got a grade. I am trying not to take it hard, since I have heard she is really tough. It is just disheartening. I have yet to get anything less than an A in college, ever!
Well, DS is up (likes to watch Sponge Bob before school), but I need to wake up Sleeping Beauty DD. This time change is not working for her!

Morning everyone.
Well, one of these threads inspired me to look back through old photos. And would you believe, I forgot 2 trips to WDW in my sig. One was only for one day to MK so I guess I could see how I missed that one, but the other one was longer. Go figure. The old brain, she ain't what she used to be!!:rotfl: I guess I'll go look through them again and fix my sig.
Slo, good luck at the orthopod today. pixiedust: for only good news.
Paint, I once dropped a class in college because it was ruining my perfect 4.0:rotfl2: . Good luck on your paper. The papers were always my least favorite projects, and who (in the real world) really cares if your bibliography is right. (Unless you are writing a novel)
Disneynut71-a lot of our Docs wear Crocs at the hospital. They say they are the most comfortable for long hours on their feet. So tell your DS to do what he wants to do and not worry about what other people think. All through life this will be an issue. (I know, peer pressure is so hard:headache: )

Attention all Chicago Area DISers old and new!!
Bowling Meet Information Update!!!!

For all of you new to our thread I'll clue you in on what kind of fun us local DISers have. :teeth:
We like to get together every couple months and have a ton of fun, laughs, good times....oh, and food too!! :rotfl:
It's a great way to meet everyone and enjoy the craziness of other Disney addicts in our area! ;) :cool1:
We've been to movies, the mall, Disney on Ice, Mickey's Magic Show, a pumpkin farm.... you name it and we'll meet there!! :thumbsup2

So this is an open invitation to one and all, and your families too.
No one's excluded.....we always say "the more the merrier"!!:hippie:

April 28th - Bowling Meet - Brunswick Zone in Romeoville
Here is a link to their site:Type in zip code 60446 in the 'find a center' field.
There is bowling, pool tables, an arcade and bumper cars and of course food.
It is located near I-55. So it's easy to get to.

No time is set as of yet.
I will have more info in the next weeks.
Let me know if anyone has any questions. :hippie:

That sounds like a great time. Unfortunately, we already have plans. We will be at a ball and auction in the Grand Ballroom on Navy Pier. I'm really looking forward to it. I am trying ;) to be a professional photographer (specializing mainly in candids - family, children, pets and I just added weddings), so I am donating five different packages to the auction. I need to get my name out there some way. I'm starting a nanny position this afternoon and goodness knows I don't want to be doing that for the rest of my life. But, it's good money and will help pay the bills. And maybe, just maybe, I can actually have the photography business I would like!!

Anyway....enough rambling! Good morning, Chicago!! Looks like another beautiful day!! :woohoo:

mvazul, photography, that is fantastic!!

we have our real estate agent here and now we have our thread photographer.

we'll keep you in business.
maybe not for the weddings but the other specialites would work here.
think most of us are married on this thread, i could be wrong.

hope it goes great for you at navy pier

Thank you very much!! I'm hoping it goes well, too. Once I have my website revamped, I'll post a link so you can see some of my work. Hopefully that won't be too much longer!

Well, I have a pre-school St. Patrick's Day party to get ready for. Then, it's off to my first day as a nanny, again. I haven't been a nanny in almost 13 years!! Before I had kids. I will be taking care of just one baby with this family. She is just 14 weeks old and a cutie!!

I hope everyone has a great day!! :wizard:

Good morning people!!!

Gosh I can't believe this weather is not supposed to last!!!
Right now I have my office window open and I'm listening to the birds.
Probably the ones making a nest over my bedroom......Grrrrrrr....they do it every spring!!!

Hersey Congrats on Alex for the great grade he got on his project!!

paintnolish Good luck with the papers!!! :)
No ideas for a restaurant though, sorry. My family isn't into food like that so I have no clue where to go!!! :rotfl:

Good luck at the doctor's today!!
If there is something wrong with your knees cartilage wise, I can offer you advise on that since Tony has had surgery twice on his knees for it.

I'm glad you are going to be able to bowl!! Are you planning on bringing the girls with? What about Kevin? I'm sure Tony will come so there will be another dude there for Kevin to hang out with!!

Yay!! You're coming bowling!!!

5th grade is hard to begin with let alone throw in some crazy looking shoes. ;)And I say that as a person who wears them all day because of my painful feet! We all have them, including my DH!! ;) So yes they ARE guys shoes too! :thumbsup2 My DH resisted wearing them because he thought they were 'girl' shoes and didn't think they were comfortable....UNTIL he wore mine while at WDW to go to the pool!! And he saw other 'dads' wearing them too.
DD got scrutinized last school year (spring time) when they first became popular around here. So she stopped wearing them. Then this past fall rolled around and tons of kids were wearing them! I told her she was the start of a fashion trend!! ;) :)

Good luck with the photography! Having yourself involved in that auction sounds like a great idea!!

Debbie I think a lot of early bird specials are until 9am. He could just be a little early then. I know that a few garages by my DH's job is early bird until 9am. :)

Have a great day everyone!!!!
