Paint That Thai restaurant is Bangkok 119 state st in Geneva,on the north side of the street.

bunchkin, how's the foot and tootsie's today?

It's sad to say that it's gotten to the point were I'm used to the pain. :(
Although, I still need to search for yet another doctor to see.
The one I was seeing referred me to a pain specialist and that's not what I want to do. I'm certain that I have some nerve damage. Since I have a big toe that is constantly numb and on the same foot 2 toes that can't wiggle on their own. :sad2:

I need a bionic foot!!! :lmao: I'll be Bionic Foot Woman!!!

Jedi glad that Toby is back so you don't have to worry about him..:grouphug: But what is with the call from Miami?. Are you okay. .

That must have been a wrong number :confused3 because whoever it was never called back.

Gosh I can't believe this weather is not supposed to last!!!
Right now I have my office window open and I'm listening to the birds.
Probably the ones making a nest over my bedroom......Grrrrrrr....they do it every spring!!!

Birdies!! We had that one year, and we photographed everything to the making of the nest to the babies right before they flew the nest. I actually cried when the last baby left  They were SO CUTE!

Hello everybody! I need food recommendations for this weekend. Bf and I want to try something different. Thai, Moroccan, Sushi, Jerk...where should we go? We are in the Joliet area and would like to stay out of the city and northern burbs. Where should we go? Anyone been to Dixie Kitchen? I have been hearing the ad on the radio and was thinking of trying it.

I LOVE the Dixie Kitchen!! I've been the one in Evanston a couple of times and love the food. YUM-MY!

If you don't mind travelling west towards Starved Rock, I *highly* recommend Ron's Cajun Connection.

It's not a fancy place by any definition, but if you like *true* bayou cookin', Ron's is the best in the area.

Here's a post I put up on Chowhound about it a few months back...

Leigh - Very nice pictures!!!! :goodvibes This is all so exciting!!!! I do love the fireplace!! What is that seperating? Is it a dining room and living room? I bet you are so excited!!!

Yes, I am excited! It is between the dining room and the "great room".

Leigh, the pictures are wonderful. When can you move all your stuff in?

The moving guy I'm thinking of using is coming over today to take a look and give an estimate. If I do go with them, then I'll probably be moving on April 1. I had said March (a Saturday would be better), but then he booked up that day and can do it April 1.

i just went thru your house pics a second time.
the place is gorgeous!

you are a lucky ducky.........

thanx for sharing them with us

Thanks to all of your for your nice words and well wishes! :goodvibes

Leigh Wow! I'm jealous I want to move if only to get a clean house.:lmao:

Oh by the way do the 2 people at the end come with the place?;) Nice picture of Mom and Dad.

Yeah, they were just standing in front of the fireplace when I got there. :rotfl:

And I hope it's still clean by the time I get moved in! :sad2:

sk8leigh - nice pictures! I like the fireplace and how is has 3 sides!! (it IS 3 sides, right, and not a mirror behind it?? :rotfl: )

Yeah, it's 3 sides. And it's gas, so all I do is flip a switch on the wall and the fire comes on!!! :yay:

I have only checked in on this thread a few times before but I am saddened tonight by news that friends and I found out today. The Chicago Apartment fire that killed the 4 young adults from Belvidere has touched closer to my heart then wanted. I worked with one of the young guys that was killed early Saturday morning.

I'm sorry about your friend.

I have Comcast North/Northwest and I DO get the travel channel. But I too hate comcast for all the obvious reasons!

I just called Comcast the other day to get them to install my new cable. I just get standard. I would like to have more channels, but I don't want digital or satellite because I don't want any kind of box or receiver.

SK8LEIGH...the house pix look great! It looks like you will have a lot of light in your house, and I always think that's a good thing. And, you and

MAC...what do you guys think about who is left on American Idol??

I felt so bad for Haley last night. I thought she finally sang well and then she forgot her words! :sad2: Sanjaya just has to go. What was up with his hair??? I think Melinda is the best girl, and Blake is the best guy, although I hate it when he does his dancing. It's so...80's. :confused3 :scared1: (And I love 80's music, have been listening to it all morning.)

Would love to meet up for a cup of coffee and a run at Home Depot for all those LGMH's to wear proudly next time we're in WDW!

I went to Home Depot for the first time ever on Friday and I forgot to look for LGMHs!!!!

Attention all Chicago Area DISers old and new!!
Bowling Meet Information Update!!!!

April 28th - Bowling Meet - Brunswick Zone in Romeoville

There is bowling, pool tables, an arcade and bumper cars and of course food.
It is located near I-55. So it's easy to get to.

Sounds great! I should be able to make it. :thumbsup2 Can we do bumper cars, too?!? I haven't done them in over 20 years!

In my area which is about 30 miles west of the city, the split is
K-5
6-8
9-12

Edited to add: I see I posted after others -- apparently us way out in the Far West Suburbs (and YES, that's what I say we are since that is what the phone company used to call us! ;) ) have a different split. I know many moons ago it was K-6, 7-8, 9-12 but then 6th graders moved to "Middle School" vs. "Junior High" -- trust me my DD has drilled it into my head that she is in Middle School not Junior High as I so like to call it.

I've always had what Becky posted above, in Georgia and here in Illinois (Naperville Dist. 203). However, in Georgia 6-8 was called Middle School, and here it was Jr. High.

Hi I haven't read anyones post yet but I want to put this question iout there. My DH and I have a bet....
He has jury duty (he is in the middle of a trial now:sad2: ) at 219 S Dearborn.
I say he is in the Everett McKinley Dirksen Federal building (or the 7 circuit courts or the northern illinois courts) and he says that it has another persons name.
Anyone know who's right?

Looking at this:

http://www.chipublib.org/008subject/005genref/gisvanity.html

I think you're right. Although it still lists DisneyQuest as being here! :rotfl2:

If your husband has been going there, how did he lose that bet? :lmao: And I'm sorry he has to be on a jury. :sad2:

I fixed my siggie.
Hope you all are having a nice afternoon. I went for a long, fast-walk at lunchtime and now need to get moving on the cleaning!!!
Weather was beautiful-67 degrees. Now the clouds are moving in so I imagine the temps will be dropping.
Chat with you all later.

Hi everyone!! :wave2:

I'm just stopping in super quick to update everyone on my doctor's appointment (thanks to everyone that wished me well :goodvibes ) He said that the problem is a "mechanical problem" and he firmly believes that it's not a connective tissue problem (thank God). So, I have to go to physical therapy a couple of times a week for about 6 weeks (like I have time for that). So I'm going to go back to the same physical therapy place I went to for my neck last year, and I start next Tuesday. Then I have to go back and see the doctor again in 5 weeks. So, it was pretty good news, and since this is someone I know personally, I trust that he is giving me the best care :)

I gotta run - I have a million things to do
Later gaters!!!

Hello!!!

Hunter is at school so it's REALLY quite here now!! ;)

Went to Target to get a few things for vacation.
FYI There is a lot of things on sale in the travel size aisle this week!!
But only till Saturday! :thumbsup2

It's funny to see how Chicagoans dress this time of year.
Especially the one's who are hopeful that it will stay warm and just get warmer!! :rotfl:
I see people dressed like me: pants, shirt, sweat jacket (or similar)
Then the hopefulls: Shorts or capris and a sleeveless shirt!!! :lmao:

It is getting colder out and quickly too!!
The temp dropped a lot since taking Hunter to school and then runing errands.

slo Glad to hear that maybe all that is needed for your knees is phys therapy!!!

Slo, I'm so happy for you. I was praying really hard that it wasn't a connective tissue thing with your history of Raynauds. I mean, I'm not happy you have knee problems, but mechanical sounds better than connective tissue disorder. Ugggh!

:cool1: I'm kickin up my heels for ya!! Physical therapy is a pain, but it would be good to pick the therapists brain on whether you could at least do the Disney Half Marathon next January???? ;)

jedi You can have 'our' birds!!! They drive me crazy!!!!

Leigh We most certainly can do bumper cars!!!! :cool1:

Ahhhh.....Very good someone is paying attention to my sale finds!!! :rotfl:

For a small fee, give me your list and I'll be your personal shopper! :lmao: :rotfl: ;)

Not unless you want to get in trouble with the person who 'owns' that!

She has sent several of us emails stating not to use them unless you hard copy them.

So at this time, I should thank DISNEY CLIPS for that wonderful clipart of Minnie and Daisy doing one of my favorite activities!! :rotfl:

I believe Leigh has a thank you to them in her siggie!!

I'll take that as a no... Glad I asked. Stupid question, but what's a hard copy??

Hi Everyone...
SLO...glad your foot problems are being resolved!
Geffric & Bunckin...DH should take the L but he's a complete suberbinite and has never done it before. He opted for parking and getting there early enough for the early bird rate!
We will see what we do tomorrow if he has to go back.
SamIAm & Nicole...Congrats on that trip creaping up so quickly!!!!
Bunchkin..I don't know why I find it funny but I can't believe you got an email in regards to clipart!
Leigh You would think he would know but he swears he's right! BUT he didn't call me this AM to tell me he was right so.......

In regards to the CROCS...
First my story....
I forgot to tell you guys that I bought DD and myself a pair at Norstroms!! The best news was I had to return a gift there so I had a credit!!! Plus...I have a huge size 10 W foot so when I put the Crocs on I felt like I was wearing boats ...literally! I am very self consious about my feet looking big so it was a NO GO! BUT....on the other side they had the Mary Jane style and they looked a 100 times better on me so I bought them. Even though they aren't Disney like my DDs are I just figured I would get those cute little Disney jibbitz for them.. Which leads me to a Question??? Where is the best place to get those??
Another thing I ponder...why are people buying their Crocs on Ebay for top dollar when you can buy them at places like Norstroms and Hallmark or even on-line for regular price???

DisneyNut
As for boys wearing them IMO (as a Mom and previously a teacher).....I would think in DISNEY WORLD absolutely anyone could pull them off!!!!! As for here unfortunately the peers determine a lot at that age so I would think it would be up to your DS whether or not he cares. You would like to think you can send your preteens off and tell them to think for themselves and do what they want but we all no that it doesn't always work that easily!!!

TiggerRN2 Love all your trips listed in your Siggie. Wear them with pride!
Jedi..Love the bird pix. So cute. Even though I am in the city I live by a golf course and forest preserve. There is a tall PINE TREE right out our windows and the birds are pretty loud in the morning but I don't mind. We hung bird houses on it so DD can see them from her window when she lays in bed (including a Disney Princess Birdhouse).

Thanks all of you on your thoughts on the crocs. I guess what I should have explained is I have one of those "know it all" step mothers. When my DS came home and told me about kids picking on him I told him it's because of the Mickey's on them and we will just wear them at home and on vacation. When he talked to my step mother she told them he shouldn't wear them because they are for girls. Her response upset him. But I see from what everyone has been saying Crocs are for everyone :).

I will have to ask about the running, and see what they say.
I wonder if this is something that could return real easily if I did run again.
I'll just have to ask.

It's actually my knees, but I knew what you meant ;)

Well, I gotta go get ready for work
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Good morning everyone.
Slo, glad to hear your knees are not a serious issue and that it may resolve with therapy. Guess I'll just let mine keep creeking-don't have enough time to run around right now to therapies.
Good news. DH finally gave in for me to go away for a few days by myself-with a friend. Looks like I have a trip to the Motherland in the works now for September. Unfortunately, it looks like I won't be there when others are. We are planning the 13th-17th. I am trying for Swan or Dolphin.
So for all you adventurers, which is better? I get the nurse discount so it will be $149 a night for standard.
Well, I have to type up all my PTO minutes from these past two meetings plus get to school to get out the Fun Fair notices for the week. So I'd better get a move on.
Later all
