Thank you so much for happy birthday wishes everyone!!!

I ended up having a much better birthday yesterday than I expected.
I was very very busy, but everything got done, and I was very happy about that
My friends in the plaza were so good to me. One made me a birthday cake, and the other one had chocolate covered strawberries delivered to me
Then after work I went to my mom's (my whole family was there) and my mom made dinner, and she also baked me a cake
I got some wonderful gifts - one being Croc slippers (the liner comes out so you can wash them)
It ended up being a great great day!!!!!

So tomorrow is when we leave - it's so hard to believe!!!!!!!
The suitcases are totally packed now, and all I have to pack is mine and the girls carry-on bags (that should take me about 15 minutes). This time tomorrow we'll be sailing to Key West

I'm not working much today - my #1 employee will be here today and tomorrow
I'm going in for about an hour this morning, and then I have to take the girls to the doctor (their prevacation checkup)
After that, I would like to deliver a framing order to a corporate client of mine.
Then Kevin, the girls, and I will go out to dinner, go say goodbye to his parents, and then go to bed early.
The alarm will be ringing very early tomorrow morning!!!! (about 2:30am )


Becky - I hope your DD has a good time. I had some kind of Schnitzel (sp?) at The Biergarten in Germany at Epcot - it was good!!!

geffric - I'm sorry that work is so stressful, and your manager is difficult I'll keep you in my prayers for things to get better soon

HERSEY - I won't be here to say this next week......

Aces - When Katie was 13 months old we had to pack for vacation and pack to move all at the same time, and it was terribly stressful Good luck with everything!!!!

piglet - I'm so sorry to hear you hurt your knee at work I hope it gets better soon!!!

Rose - Congrats on winning those tickets I've never been there either, and I always wanted to go.

Mac - Have a good weekend, where are you going?

Just to let you know my wife had our baby. Everyone is doing great. 6lbs 13 oz and 19 in. His name is Garrett William. When I finally get the picture downloaded I'll post them. I forgot how small they are.

DD said her dinner was good last night -- so YEAH!!! She ended up going with the mashed potatos because a boy there had been there before and was explaining the dumplings to her & she thought they sounded gross. I'm just glad she liked the main part as we paid $20 for the meal. I would have hated to have paid the $20 and then still have to feed her dinner. Of course, wouldn't be the first time I've done something like that & knew it was a chance we were taking.

She had a meeting this morning before school for cheerleading try-outs next week. Talk about driving like a crazy person. We left a little later than I had planned -- my original plan was to take her & then take the boys to school because they would have arrived too early otherwise. What I *should* have done once I realized we were leaving later was drop them off first but my brain wasn't thinking this morning -- so I went ahead and took her and realized we might not make it back for the boys before the tardy bell. DS-10 was freaking out on me for it -- we DID make it by the skin of our teeth as the patrols had gone in & one teacher was holding the door open, etc... Basically the boys jumped out of the car & I told them to RUN. I don't know if they made it to their classrooms before the tardy bell or not though but at least they were in the building. By the time I realized we were going to have a problem with the timing, we were 1/2 to the Middle School & so I couldn't really turn around because I was messed up either way -- we just kept hoping for green lights and hopefully not too many cars to deal with.

I hate when I'm running late like that -- it gets me all flustered.

I have to bake a birthday cake today for Sunday's party and also want to go out and get a mattress so we can finally get the little guy moved to a bed. He's still in his crib even though he's 4. He doesn't seem to mind but we really need to get him moved out. We are actually buying the new mattress for DD and then switching her old one over to the little guy.

Busy week for me. Finally catching up on my house chores.
Slo, I know you are already gone, but sure hope you have a great trip!!!!! Didn't realize our birthdays were so close. Mine is tomorrow. Have to work. We'd thought about going to the Rainforest Cafe tonight for dinner, but then realized it was Sweetest Day and quickly changed our minds. Not feeling up to fighting the crowds of crazys.

I'll post some pictures later from our trip. I've been busy and haven't had the time.

Yesterday morning we lost power for 3 hours for an unknown reason it was not windy or stormy? Is this ComEd way of validating their additional rate increase?

It looks like it's going to be a windy day today I'm glad I got the bulk of my outside stuff down yesterday. I sweep out the garage it amazes me how much gets in there.

Mark & I just got done blowing away up in Lake Geneva! Actually, it was a gorgeous, beautiful (if windy!) day to sit out and enjoy the blue sky and the blue lake and the fall colors and the *quite* brisk wind! I always find a trip up there to be so refreshing and I'm glad we live close enuff to go as often as we do!

Morning all!! Slow weekend here.
It was a great day yesterday. Went to work til 1:30. It was slow, so I got to leave early. We went to Woodfield Mall to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner. Too bad it was a Sunday. Mall closed early. I don't get there much at all. I would've loved to browse a bit. I really wanted to see the Doorway to Dreams. Oh, well.
Had an awesome drink with my dinner. Some banana rum thing. Kids had a good time.
Back to another week. It does appear we will finally face facts around here. It is FALL. And the leaves they are a-fallin'. We raked and cleaned out gutters this weekend and now looks like we didn't do a thing. Oh, well.

Hersey -- I liked the pictures.

I survived my little ones birthday party yesterday, so now birthdays are done and I have to finish making Halloween costumes.

Today DD has a cheerleading workshop, so it's going to be interesting. The paperwork is confusing as all get-out though because they used the same paperwork as last year & forgot to change some of the information so it doesn't make sense in some places. She has a workshop Today & Wed. then try-outs on Friday. It says it will post the team on Friday after school. HUH? Which Friday? I don't think they will wait a whole week before posting who made the team, that doesn't seem the usual operating procedure for them. Next Friday is 1/2 day anyway and I was going to pull DD early, so now I'm if I should do that or not. It's partner's day, so I'll be going for part of the day but I have to leave before the day is over because I have to get her brother's at grade school, so I was just going to take her with me as she would only miss the last 2 classes but if they are posting who is on the squad after school that day (can't imagine they are going to do that since it's both 7th & 8th grade partner's day -- the halls are going to be PACKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!).

As soon as DS gets done watching CARS here, I'm going to have to get him some lunch and let's see if he will take a nap for me.

So, how did you like Saratoga Springs overall? I love your pictures. I hope they still have that China exhibit when I get out there in March. March seems so far away mainly because I have to cross that wide expanse of winter to get there!

Yes, time to face the fact that it's FALL! Booo hissss! Sure couldn't tell this past weekend though! I loved it! I was so happy with the weather. Couldn't beat it with a stick!

Well, it's going to be quiet around here without Slo this week! Let's see, today is a Sea Day, so she's probably laying by a pool somewhere. Two weeks from now, that'll be me!

Megan got her hair cut and she's lovin it. I was afraid she'd hate the cut afterward when there was nothing we could do about it! But, she likes her swingy new cut. There were lots of compliments for her when I dropped her off at school this morning!

Sure would be nice to see a pinch o sunshine today. Not nice to cut us off so quickly like that!

Well, gotta run along and get some more work done.
