:surfweb:

I had a really good day at work yesterday, which was great, because I've been so slow :guilty: Some of the orders are pretty complex, and luckily, these customers said I could work on their projects when I return - I just love easy, understanding customers!!!! :goodvibes

Mac - Thanks for the listing:)

Bunchkin - How was the sleepover? How's Lauren doing?

piglet - You had such a nice day to go to Michigan City :sunny: Were you able to find some good bargains?

Sam - I'm sorry to hear about Megan's stomach cramping :guilty: Did they say anything to you about her having a spastic colon/bowel? I have this, and sometimes this happens to me after I eat, especially if it's something greasy, and especially if I have a Whopper of Bic Mac:rolleyes: I'll send lots of PD for her to feel better soon!!:wizard: :wizard:

Leigh - You are so cute!!!!! :) I love your pictures - you looked awesome in your costume!!! :goodvibes Thanks for the TR - I"m glad you had a good time!! :cool1:

It's that time - I guess I should go
Have a good day today everyone!!

slo~~~ Glad ya had a good day at work.

Sk8Leigh~~~ Love the pics. sounds like fun.

Do you guys want to know something funny????:rotfl:

I have girly fever!!!

YEP! It's called girly fever.

I guess it has to do w/ having my first little girl and Halloween and Christmas just around the corner.
All I can think about is a cute princess or bellerina costume(still don't have it for her yet).
And all these girly toys for Christmas. Anything princess that an 11 month old(she will be in December) can play with I am getting her!

I have spent 6 years with all this boys stuff, cars and trucks, I soooooo can't wait till I can have dolls and barbies under the christmas tree.:cool1:

:cloud9: AHHHH Christmas for me all over again. I get to be a little girl again.:lmao:

I am so excited!
Well, now I have to go, I just had to get that out.

Leigh- enjoyed your TR and pics :thumbsup2
Yes, you looked very cute as Minnie :)

Aces- Glad you got the girly fever! :cheer2: :yay:

Slo ~ Did not buy much, only had two stores on my list to stop at. Picked up some stuff for a transfer at Yankee CAndle as well as bought some votives for a co-worker. Spent most of the time at Hanna Andersson, where I did very good. Spent $70 for 2 turtlenecks for Nathan, a turtleneck, t-shirt, gauchos ( :confused3 ) and two dresses for Lauren. Based on full retail price, I saved $104!! I love the clothes there, and never pay full price for anything, it is all from the outletr or e-bay.

aces ~ girly fever is fun ::yes::

Sam ~ How is Megan doing?

Bunchkin ~ Is Lauren doing good?

Hi all...

Thanks for the good thoughts about Megan. She's doing a lot better today and did pretty well yesterday. Only one bout of cramping first thing in the morning. The rest of the day was cramp free. The Dr. didn't say anything about spastic colon or anything like that, I think it really is just a remnant of her flu virus. We've noticed improvement since putting her on Florastor and some Motrin (after eating) for pain. I think I'm going to finish off her Florastor capsules given that she only has to take it one more day and there's about six tablets left. Nothing like a shot of good bacteria for the old digestive system! HA! Taking Florastor is like having 100 servings of yogurt. I found a really good yogurt that Megan likes and it isn't all colorings and sugar, it's called YoKids! Very natural and I like that better than the carnival colored Dora Yogurt. :scared1:

Slo: You must be getting so excited. I'll be happy when our documents arrive! Whoohooo! I got my formal dress a few weeks ago and I can't wait for my pedicure the weekend before we leave. Those are so relaxing, although I am a bit ticklish during certain parts... :lmao: Did you get the girls really fancy dresses. Boy, I asked about that dress I had in mind for Megan on the cruise forum and got told in no uncertain terms that it wasn't good enough. I ended up getting her something more formal.

Megan's hair is now past her shoulders and yesterday she told me she wants it cut short. I was sort of sad about it, but what can I do? I explained to her that if we cut it short, we can't glue it back on. I'm surprised because most little girls want long hair and she wants her short? What's up with that? I am going to bring home some style picture for her to see to make sure she knows what she's getting into. She's a pretty smart girl and she's not usually taken to flights of fancy, so hopefully she realizes when it's done, it's done.

What a dreary day out there huh? Good day to stay at home and sleep if you ask me!

Hope everyone is doing well

Good Morning
I have finally been able to get online and post. I am was trying to read the back posts. I haven't been on since mid Septmeber so I have missed a bunch.

Sorry to be so general but...

Happy Anniversary
Happy Birthday
And Congratulations to all the new babies.

Not to be all depressing and such but I am having some problems with my DS. I need to spend more time hands on with him. Ty has ADHD and is having trouble focusing on school work which is causing him to fail 6th grade. It's been really tough this year as he is now in Jr. high. He is acting out and requires constant attention. It takes me away from the computer which is why I haven't been on.

On a happy note...Emily and I were at Playhouse Disney Live on Friday afternoon. It was cute. She really liked it. Now all she wants to do it watch Playhouse Disney and keeps telling me we saw that.

Ty won tickets for Kiddieland from Radio Disney so we are going there today. Kids are going in costume. Ty as Captain Jack and Emily as a princess.

We will be back in WDW in 45 days. My first time there at Christmas time and for my birthday. I bought our tickets for the Very Merry Christmas Party yesterday. We can't wait.

Well I should get going kids are waking up and getting into trouble. Have a great Sunday everyone.

I know I am new to this group and don't really know anyone yet but I want you to know you are not alone. My son is in 7th grade and has ADHD and an IEP and 6th grade was a complete and utter nightmare here at home because of all the school work. Every other parent I know felt the same way last year even the ones with children without ADHD. There are so many changes that take place both in their hormones and the school. We have been through all the medication changes too. We were very fortunate that he has really good teachers this year (last year was a different story) and we had a few things added to his IEP. This year so far is 100% better.

Keep in mind that an IEP is really only as good as the teacher he has and if they decide to read it and/or go with what it says. If you don't already have A parents' guide: The educationaly rights of students with disabilities get one. This is a state guide from the Ill board of education if you want me to look up the phone number to get one let me know. If you put in writing that you want your child tested for learning disabilities for an IEP and send it to the principal the school legally has 60 days (if I remember correctly) to test him and implement an IEP for the areas he fails. The most important thing is to put everything in writting and keep copies. If your child does not have learning disabilities he is still entitled to a 504 plan because of his ADHD diagnosis which is similar to the IEP. If you need to talk feel free to PM me. This is what I looked and felt like for the entire 6th grade year :scared1: and it is still very fresh in my mind.

Angela

Today is my little guy's birthday!!! He's 4!! YEAH!! We are going to Burger King for dinner (that's his choice! :lmao: ).

I'm :scared1: reading about 6th grade. I have a 5th grader with a reading disability along with ADHD (although pretty mild but still there). He has an IEP but I'm not looking forward to it. Although I do love the way our Middle School is set-up so hopefully it will all work out. I've BTDT for 6th grade, etc.. but with my DD and school comes fairly easily to her.

I'm so bummed out they are having Member's Night at the Museum of Science & Industry for the new Star Wars exhibit on Friday. Of course, by the time DH got around to finding out if he got vacation time and got the time off, they are sold out! :sad2: They did add another day for Thursday but I doubt DH can change his day off & besides the fact that DD (if she remembers to turn in the permission slip) is going out to dinner with the Foreign Language Club. They are going to a German restaraunt, so Thursday is out for us too. BUMMER! We will still get to see the exhibit, just would have been fun to go on Member's night (they are having a group that dresses up come in + said if you wanted to dress in costume you could --except for masks/weapons). The kids would have loved that part.

We will survive and eventually get there before the exhibit disappears (considering this was one of the exhibits we decided to become members FOR! ;) ).

Part 2 of my TR:

I forgot to say that when I got to my room the first day I had a towel animal. It was a Mickey. That's the first TA I've ever gotten. My Mousekeeper must really be into them because I got one every day. I thought the last day I didn't have one, because the other two were on my bed, but this one was on the bathroom counter. I'm not quite sure what the other two were, though.

Anyway, after getting my picture with Minnie it was time to go to see Hallowishes. I ended up off the front right corner of the castle (as you're looking at it) , which was an ok view considering I can up right as they started. I'm not a big fireworks fan in general, so I can't say I loved it. (The only fireworks show I would really go out of my way for is the one at DL.) One thing that I was happy about is that I finally got a picture of the fireworks that I missed at DL in two different shows. It's a smiley face, which is just so cool. I was very happy to finally get the picture. :cheer2:

Then I went to Mickey's house. Luckily there wasn't a long line there, and people in front of me kept leaving, so it became even shorter. I love it when that happens. When I got up to Mickey, he put his arm out so I put mine through it. Then he grabbed my other hand. Again, I'm like what is he doing?? But he put it on his arm. Poor guys, it's so hard for them to communicate.

Then I went on the candy trail from TT to TL. That does have a lot of candy, and I saw the Walrus from Alice in Wonderland! I had never seen him before.

Then I went to watch the parade again, this time at the hub. I could see much better, but the CMs were saying before the HH rode not to use flash because it could spook the horse. So I didn't, but of course I didn't get great pictures. But it was really cool to see, and to hear the hoof-beats on the pavement. Overall I enjoyed the second parade better because I had a better view.

Then the night was almost over, so I decided to go shopping for party stuff on Main Street. I got some pins, a t-shirt, a frame, and the cd with Boo to You on it. :yay: Love that song!

Then I went to return my locker key, and the girl who took it had a name tag that said College of DuPage. I told her I was from Aurora, and she high-fived me. :goodvibes She was very excited to see someone from her area.

So that was it for that night. The next day I went to Epcot for the F&W Fest. I tried so much great food! I'll put that in my next post.

-----

Non-TR stuff...I got a parking ticket yesterday at the train station. :sad1: There were no more daily spots so I parked in a permit spot. However, I had done it 5 other times and not gotten a ticket, so I had saved $10. The ticket is $20, so I'm only down $10. I'm keeping track. It's like I'm gambling. :rotfl2:

Then last night I lost the office football pool on the tiebreaker. :sad1: So close!

And yesterday morning on the train into work a woman passed out in the aisle when we were almost into Union. Someone got a conductor and he called for an ambulance, but of course it took forever to get anyone in there. She had a pulse and was breathing, but she was unresponsive for at least 5 minutes. She was starting to wake up when we got off the train, though. Apparently she was pretty young. Hopefully it wasn't too bad.

Hope you guys are having a good day. Here are some pictures for you guys to see.

This is at Blue ridge Parkway in North Carolina on Sunday(real pretty) We are sitting right on top of the mountain.

:surfweb:

I'm almost done packing!!! :woohoo:
I have a couple last minute things to do, but that's it :thumbsup2
I realized that I don't have a cover-up, and that makes me annoyed, because I need one for when I wear my bathing suit off the ship. I guess I will have to wear a big t-shirt:rolleyes:

Aces - Thanks for sharing those pictures with us!!! :goodvibes Your children are beautiful, and the scenery is beautiful too (is this close to where to live?). I love that picture of Julia in the swing - she looks so happy!!!! :cutie:

piglet - I've never shopped at Hanna Anderson - I'll have to check that out :thumbsup2

Sam - I"m glad Megan is feeling better :)
*I saw the dress you are speaking of at TDS, and it's a very cute dress (I always think of you and Megan when I see it). I'm not sure how dressed up people will be getting, but I would think it would be fine (especially for semi-formal night).
*How short does Megan want to go with her hair? Stephanie is growing her hair out, but at one time she liked it shorter too (collar length).

angwill - Welcome to our thread (or have I welcomed you before, I don't remember  ) Anyway.....it's good to see you - please come by often!!:goodvibes

Becky -

*I'm sorry to hear about your ticket:guilty: Thank goodness it's not that much money.
*How terrible about what happened on the train - I hope that lady is okay:wizard:

Bunchkin - Where are you??? I miss you!!!

Well, I gotta get ready for work
Have a great day today everyone!!

Slo,
Thanks for the welcome. I hope you have a wonderful trip. I have never been on a cruise but hope to one day.

Aces,
What beautiful pics.

Angela

Thank you guys!

Slo~ The pics of the mountains are about an hour and a half away from where we live. Where we live we don't have mountains.
But the pics at the park w/ the kids playing are right near our house.
I bet you are ready for your trip. When are you going?

Good morning, Chicago friends...quick post just to say hi to all...wishing you all a GREAT day...

<and special thanks for the trip reports, pictures, and most of all, the friendships shared on this thread!>

Hi Everyone!

Slo: Megan wants what basically amounts to a "long bob". I showed her a picture of Kit from American Girl and she said that was too short, but would like something more like Emily from American Girl. I was trying to find lots of pictures of girls and the only magazine I could come up with was an AG catalog.

UDMC_main_1.jpg

So, basically, this is what she wants hairstyle wise. I guess I can live with that. One of my biggest "weirds" is that my Mom always kept my hair extremely short, think Dorothy Hamill cut and then the dreaded "shag". Ugggh! I always wanted long hair, so for Megan to say she wanted to go short, sort of made me sad. I finally got my long hair, only thing is it's on Megan's head! HA! So, Megan's hair is not much longer than that right now, it will probably need about two to three inches taken off, but it should be adorable for the cruise.

She has the perfect little heart shaped face that seems to go well with a lot of different styles and she looks great in hats, another thing her Mom does not share in.

Her stomach cramping seems to have ceased and we are keeping our fingers crossed. We did not take any Motrin today, so I am hoping for good results. I hate to keep giving her Motrin everyday, that seems excessive. So, hopefully, we will do well today! She is eating really well and is bright eyed and bushy tailed, so I am taking it as a good sign.

Does anyone every get excited or "feel good" about the fact that they slept really well...? I was soooo excited this morning when the alarm went off because I had slept straight through the night. I do not remember waking up one time or being woke up by someone's snoring!! I have been in "awe" of that fact all day. It's one of those things that I hope gets repeated several times in the next few days. I'm usually up a few times a night for 10 to 20 minutes. I toss and turn and eventually get back to sleep, but do that three times, and it's an hour's worth of sleep lost. I don't know what I did last night, but it was really a welcome change to my sleeping habits lately!

To Ace's Baby Doll

Your children are gorgeous and I envy the fact that you live in a gorgeous part of the USA. I just love your pictures and have driven Blue Ridge Parkway a time or two in my life. When you live in Illinois (as I'm sure you know) the chance to see a mountain is rare treat, so thanks for those pics!

In Texas, one of the traditions of childhood is to have your children's picture taken in the blue bonnet fields. Several of my friends from down that way send me pictures of their kids among the blue bonnets. Your pics of your daugther remind me of that! She looks Spectacular in Pink!! princess:

Well, gotta run!

Sam

Part 3 of TR:

Are people enjoying this with all the itty bitty details?

I was slow getting up on Friday to get to Epcot (as I am almost any other day as well  ), but I knew it didn't matter that much because I was mainly interested in the F&W Fest and it didn't start until 11am. Instead of taking the bus which was more direct, I took the boat to the CR, and then the monorail to Epcot, just because I wanted to. :thumbsup2

The wand is off SE! Classic Epcot! Now if only FW was back to classic with Horizons and World of Motion, etc. I think that's why I don't love FW so much, because I really loved it as a kid and it's pretty much gone now. (Unfortunately SE, my favorite there, was down for refurb.) I went through Club Cool on the way to WS, and found that in addition to the Randy is My Dawg shirt I saw in May they also had a Team Paula shirt. But still no Simon. So are they out or do they not have them? :confused3 Because I might actually buy a Simon shirt. I  Simon. Then I tried a few of the drinks and was bothered by this know-it-all little girl who kept telling me about each of them. Luckily someone called her over, because I might have had to kill her.

Then I got to WS and started trying food. Here's what I had and what I thought of it. Keep in mind I am very picky, but I was so proud of myself for trying (and liking) so many things. :cheer2:

Peru
Alfajores de Lucuma -Lucuma Cream with a Peruvian Sugar Cookie

This was ok, but nothing special. I bit into the cookie and most of fell onto the ground, so I didn't get much of that.

Canada
Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup

Loved it! It was great! (Of course, I looove cheese. ) I saw reviews saying that they didn't get much, but I got probably 3/4 of the cup or more, and wouldn't have really wanted it filled any more.

Maple Custard with Almond Crumble
Also just ok, like the Peru dessert. It was funny, because I usually like desserts more than food, but here I didn't really love the desserts.

Greece
Spanakopita - Savory Spinach and Cheese Pastry

Loved it! This was one of my two favorites. I could have had seconds, but I knew there was still a lot to eat. But now I want to go to a Greek place and get some! When I got it, I thought there was too much spinich and I wouldn't like it, but it was kind of spicy and was just great. :thumbsup2

France
Escargots Persillade en Brioche - Provence-style Snails with Garlic and Parsley in Brioche

This was my other favorite. I had decided to try it when I first saw it on the list before I left since it was a good time to try a small portion cheaply. A girl at work told me that if I tried it she would reimburse me for it if I got a picture of me eating it. So I did! I got a woman who was waiting for her husband to take my picture. I still need need to show it to Elizabeth so I get my 4.50. But it was really good! There were three little pieces of bread with the escargot in them, and garlic butter. It didn't even seem like it was something like snails, it reminded me of mushrooms. I could have gotten seconds of that, too. I was so proud of myself that I sent Elizabeth an e-mail from my phone telling her that she owed me the money. :rotfl:

Coupe de Sorbets: Champagne, Framboise and Chocolat Blanc - Champagne, Raspberry and White Chocolate Sorbet
I liked the bottom layers of this, but not the top layer so much, which was I believe the white chocolate. It was sort of grainy or something? :confused3 Not sure how to describe it. But it was unfortunate because I had to eat a lot of it to get to the bottom layers. It was ok, but would have been much better withough the top layer.

Australia
Macadamia Nut and Chocolate Bar

Again, this was just ok. I could have probably eaten the whole thing, but once I decided that I didn't really like it I threw about 2/3 of it away because I didn't want to fill up on something I didn't really want. I wasn't even drinking anything until this point when I got some water, because I didn't want to fill up on liquids.

Then I got to the US pavillion and saw the American Adventure show. Third time in a row that I haven't managed to stay away. But I wanted to see it because I had just heard that it hadn't been updated since 1992 but now it has been. I had always thought it was funny that it still had Kristi Yamaguchi in it, which seemed random, until I heard the 1992 part. (When she won the Olympics.) So I wanted to see what it had now. Now I didn't see Kristi, but Michelle Kwan was in it, as I expected. But I must say I was pretty drowsy through the whole movie.

When I got out I was heading over to the bathroom and saw that there were characters over to the left side down below. (That's actually a training area, which I found out from my CM friend.) They had Mickey, Goofy, Pluto, and a Penguin from Mary Poppins. All the adults up in the area where I was (who had probably been drinking the free Sam Addams, now that I think about it :rotfl2: ) kept yelling to Mickey and Goofy to get them to wave, so I got some pics. I texted my CM friend (who was at LAX) and was telling her about it, and she said that the poor Penguin was probably being ignored and was probably there because there wasn't anyone available to be the other chipmunk. (She plays the penguins, Chip, & Dale. They're all the same height.)

Ok, gotta go back to work. I'll do the other half of WS later.

Non-TR:

I got another parking ticket yesterday! Two days in a row! I felt like such a loser when I saw it, so today I made sure to get there earlier so that I got a space. :sad2:
