DMM Did you go to the Children's zoo area?

Crissup Seeing it once is more that enough for me!! :faint: :sad2:

Brrrrr...........it's cold in the house this morning!!! :cold:
It was great for sleeping though - it was nice to sleep in this morning :)

Today we are closing the pool :sad1:
When that happens, you know summer is officially over:sad1:
Where did it go? :confused3 It went by way to fast :guilty:

DMM - I hope you had a nice day at the Barn Sale. :)

HERSEY - That's good that Alex hasn't heard about the Vanessa Hudgens scandal:) . Does he like the Highschool Musical movies?

Bunchkin - YOU ARE LEAVING FOR WDW THIS WEEK!!!!! :cheer2: :yay: :woohoo: I'm so excited for you guys!!!!! Were you able to get alot done yesterday? I'm going to send a mountain of PD to help Tony get all his work done so you don't have to go to WDW alone again :wizard: :wizard:(and the PD Is for you cold to continue to get better)

piglet - Do you have any good Yankee Candles that you would recommend for Halloween. I know they have a couple of different kinds, but I want to buy just one to burn at my store - any suggestions????:)

Mac - I hate being cold too ::yes:: I've been walking around the house with my flannel shirt and then wrapping up in a blanket when watching tv:rolleyes:

Becky - Bummer that your DD forgot to look at the choir sheet. Tell her I want to know!!!!! :teeth:
**How are you feeling today? Sending more PD your way to feel better soon:wizard:

TTTTTTigern - Yes I did get that project done, and it's still waiting to get picked up  The redo went alot easier than I expected, which made me really happy.
**The Vanessa Hudgens scandal in a nutshell - she took some naked pictures of herself on her cellphone to send, or did send, to Zac Efron (they are an item). The phone got stolen at a Highsschool Musical party, and whoever stole it found the pictures, and now they are on the web. Her future with Disney for HSM3 is uncertain at this point :sad2: I have seen one of these pictures, and it wasn't a bad picture, but I guess there's another one that's really nasty, that could just crush her (I read that on my Comcast homepage report). She made a really really bad decision!!!!

Crissup - I agree with Bunchkin - once was enough:scared: :scared1:

Well, I gotta run - we are going to go out to breakfast before we start the official pool closing. Poor Kevin has to go into that cold water to take out the stairs - brrrrrrr :cold:

Have a good day today everyone!!

good sunday morning chicagoland homies.
got your backs for the week, leaving in about 10 minutes.

and about the vanessa thing of the pics.
i told 3 of my sons what is being talked about in the middle school.....

they all said, yea and she was hot!
apparently they already knew about it.......first hand/computer

Afternoon all. Pool closing day here today too.:sad1: Just such a bummer knowing that summer is done. Although, it is supposed to warm up this week.
Our house is very chilly too. It's warmer outside. Which is why I think I'll head out there very soon. Inside calls for woolies, outside, shorts!!
Thanks for the VH info. Can't believe I hadn't heard a thing. :rolleyes1 That movie won't be the same if they don't have the same kids doing it, no matter what she's done. Not a smart thing to do, but just a young, stupid mistake. They are just young kids after all.
Thought about going to the Rainforest Cafe today. Couldn't get anyone else interested. So I guess I'll just hang out here and get some stuff done around the house. Need to go buy laundry det. and dishwasher det. or nothing will get done. :rolleyes1
Hope you all have a great day!!

Hi all!

Just finally had the chance to sit down for more than 5 minutes!

This morning the neighbor kids came over so we could watch them while their parents went to the Bears game. They left early to go tailgate!
There aunt just picked them up as the on kid had a volleyball game to play at.

Plus we washed the car. Cleaned inside too!
Love a shiny new car!! :3dglasses

Now I'm doing laundry! Woohoooo! :laundy:
Gonna try getting some packing done.

Last night was fun. We had a fire at our house with the same neighbors I mentioned above. Kids roasted marshmallows. Other neighbors wanted to join but their son had a football game and they didn't get home till after 10pm. We were all inside by then.

Today is also my and DH's 12th anniversary.
Didn't plan anything because I figured DH would be working all day and that we would just celebrate while on vacation. He has yet to leave to do any work!!

Got a roast in the crockpot cooking and it smells so good!!!

slo & Tiggerrn Sorry you guys have to close up your pools!!! http://bestsmileys.com/sports3/10.gif[/img

slo I got some stuff done. But it's never enough. The kids and I went to the grocery store and I came back with the worst headache. That kind of slowed me down for a while. Thanks for all the PD....we need it!! :rotfl:

DMM Sleeping in for me is sleeping till 7am on the weekends. At which point I usually get woken up by Hunter playing with toys in his room, usually Legos!
The kid is obsessed with Lego!
Hope your feeling well!! [img]http://bestsmileys.com/family/9.gif

mac Thanks for covering for us again!

We got alot done yesterday!!! :woohoo:
We covered the pool, and I pulled out several dead flowers and planted fall mums in their place. I also decided to pull out all the flowers that the deer ate because they looked ugly. They weren't dead, but they were naked:rotfl: As much as it's a bummer to cover the pool, at least it's now done, and we don't have to worry about it.

Mac - Thanks for the listings!!!! I'll have to DVR some of those for the girls and I to watch :thumbsup2

DMM - It's good you got to sleep in :goodvibes Take care of yourself!!

Bunchkin - Happy 12th Anniversary!!! :groom: :bride: We both got married the same year - our 12th Anniversary was in June:goodvibes It's nice you are celebrating in WDW :goodvibes Do you have a certain ADR to celebrate your anniversary at?
**I hope you headache got better yesterday :wizard:

I"m so glad it's not as cold in the house this morning - it's makes it easier to take a shower.
Have a good day today everyone!!!!

Bunchkin Happy Anniversary! Hope your day got better. Have a great trip. Leave some mickey bars for Mac and I;)

Slo So sad, naked flowers nothing worse. Alex does like High school musical. We have every version orginal sing a long you name it we have it.

I am looking forward to a warm week. I am not ready for fall yet. Well got to get working.

Happy Anniversary Bunchkin!!

Slo ~ As for YC scents I really like Autumn Wreath. You could also try the swirl jar that is called Caramel Apple. Frosted Pumpkin and Fall Festival are very popular (we are sold out in the large jars right now) but I don't care for them.

Okay, I'll try this again. Touch one wrong key here and blammo the whole post disappears!

Mr. & Mrs. Bunchkin! I hope you have a very nice anniversary no matter where you celebrate it! I have heard nothing but good reviews about the new Haunted Mansion! I heard the sound quality is way better and the colors are vibrant.

I have a video on my iPod and that will have to hold me til I can get back there in February!

My baby lost her first baby tooth this weekend and she was sooo excited! We had a very fun weekend! We went to Disney store to get her a new dress for the cruise and we had dinner out at Ruby Tuesdays. On Saturday, we went to her dance class, Lowes for mums, then Target where she actually turned down the offer of the new Disney Princess video. She told me Mom, the Princesses are for little girls. What the heck?? I thought she was a little girl??? :sad2: Of course the tooth fairy stopped by on Friday night with a nice crispy $10 bill! She was told that usually first teeth net the most cash! Don't expect a whole lot for those molars back there! The tooth fairy did sprinkle the $10 with a lot of pixie dust too! (I knew I'd find a use for that sparkly powder I received for Christmas last year!!)

I'm very excited for all you Chicago DIS'ers heading out for vacations in the Homeland! I hope you all have a wonderful time! Hersey, you'll have to let us know how things go with your vacation given your new status as "owner".

I can't wait to own a little piece of the pie myself someday!

To all the other DIS'ers out there! Hey! How's it going. Slo: Sorry about the pool closure this weekend. That does stink. I know I feel the same way when we take down all the lawn furniture and the deck looks bare! Sigh. I love fall, but I know what comes after that!

Take care everyone!

I am interested in exposing my kids to some authentic Greek food the next time we are in Chicago -- does anybody have any suggestions as to Greektown (or elsewhere, for that matter) restaurants that are especially kid-friendly ?

Hi everyone! I have been sick, as well as busy, so I have not been to the library to use their internet. Therefore, I am extremely behind in my post reading! Anyway, my sister, who was just in WDW, got proposed to there! Her longtime bf popped the question at MK! She even gathered a little crowd! How exciting! Not to mention, out of my parents' four girls, three are engaged! I am getting married in MAy, another sis in June, and the most recently engaged is thinking Fall! Crazy, huh? Maybe we can get a group discount!
Hope all is well here!

Thanks for the anniversary congrats!!!

It's been very noisy around here today!!
First there is some major construction going on right across the street at one of the houses that flooded during those bad storms/power outs. They are digging up the back yard!!
Plus there's the regular construction noises.
And then some one's car or house alarm keeps going off!! :headache:
Stop the madness!!!!!!!

And I've been packing!! 3 more sleeps for me!!! :yay:

slo Bald plants!!! :rotfl: Can you put something around your plants so the deers cannot get to them?

Hersey I'm not a big Mickey bar fan, so there will be plenty left for you and Mac! ;) Not a big fan of the Dole Whips either. Not sure if it was the taste or if it was just made wrong??? Especially since I love pineapple!

Sam I thought you were going to DL in the spring? Or are you doing both WDW and DL in the spring? :)
How neat that Megan lost her first tooth finally!
I read the reviews of HM on allearsnet and it sounds great!!! Can't wait to get there!!! I'll be in my Doom Buggy on Friday!!

paint Sorry to hear you're sick! Hope you're feeling better soon! :thumbsup2
Congrats to your sister....both of them!! :goodvibes :bride: :bride:

piglet I bought Autumn Wreath a couple weeks ago and just love it!! DD picked it out! :goodvibes
I wish they would bring back the gingerbread candle!

biras jim I haven't been to Greek town in ages. A good web site to check for locals opinions on restaurants (and all kids of other places) is Yelp.com.

Well, I gotta get going on some more packing. And finishing loading music onto the MP3. Right now I have Rocky Horror Picture Show downloading.
downloads_aim_01frank.gif

I'm taking a minute to post after lunch, even though I shouldn't - I've got so much to do!!!!!

HERSEY - My naked flowers were pretty sad. What was even sadder is that I didn't get a chance to take the girls picture in front of them like I do every year:guilty: I hope those deer were happy with their little feast:rolleyes:

piglet - thanks for the suggestions!! I'll have to check them out :thumbsup2

Sam - Congrats to Megan on losing her first tooth!!!! :cheer2: How exciting for her!!

biras jim - I'm sorry that I have no suggestions :guilty: but hopefully others will.

paint - I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. I'll send lots of PD your way to feel better soon:wizard:
**Congrats to your Dsis on her engagement - how exciting!!!! :goodvibes

bunchkin - I asked my neighbor who hunts what he suggested, and he said what he would suggest is illegal. I asked him what, and he said a bow and arrow or a shotgun:eek: He's actually going to ask some buddies at work for me on what I should use. He did say human hair is excellent - so I may be asking you all for donations next year:rotfl: :rotfl2:
**3 more sleeps!!!! 3 more sleeps!!! How exciting!!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Alright guys - I gotta run and get more work done
Have a good rest of the day today!!

I am interested in exposing my kids to some authentic Greek food the next time we are in Chicago -- does anybody have any suggestions as to Greektown (or elsewhere, for that matter) restaurants that are especially kid-friendly ?

The DIS is a great information resource for many things. However, when I'm looking for a great Chicago restaurant, I go to chowhound.com. They have a Chicago board there and many of the people posting there really know their Chicago restaurants.

Here's the link to their Chicago Board...

http://www.chowhound.com/boards/7

biras jim I like Greek islands I'm pretty sure they have a restaurant in Greek town. They have a location in Lombard that I got to. I haven't been to Greek town in ages.

Slo So glad you didn't take the girls picture in front of naked flowers. Maybe you can take a great fall picture with the mums.

Bunchkin Wow your vac is soo soon I'm excited for you. When you come back then it will be just a few days for me :woohoo: I heard ok read on the theme park board that they are giving out good candy. ;)

Sam Of course I'll let you know about the vac. Glad to hear Megan is part of the toothless club.:thumbsup2 Me too I broke a tooth on a jelly belly friday night. Good thing it already had a root canal so no pain.

Crissup I hope you got the credit card fiasco all fixed. That is a scary thing.
