Wow how cool! Just found you all on this thread! We're from Elmhurst, have been down to Disney 3 times in the last 2 years alone now, and we loved it so much we bought a townhome there this summer! Planning on going back in Jan 07 (golfing with my guy friends)...and then again in April 07 for a week with the kids! Best part...there's a Giordano's pizza 1 mile from our house there that delivers, yay! Just like being home! (We ALL know that there's no good pizza outside of our hometown...right? hehe)

Anyhow, nice to meet you all!!

Thanks it's the same as my website, I was trying to find something creative to use! Now I've learned that the big boss mouse does not like people using their name in websites and occasionally sends out cease and desist letters... which has me very worried now that I've spent 100s of hours on it and get dozens of emails every day.... /sigh

Anyhow...not only do we have Giordano's on 192 now...there's also an Uno's...now if only we had Lou Malnati's and Gino's East we would have the whole thing rounded out! By the way they deliver, even to many of the WDW resorts!!

Hi all. Hear about the shooting/hostage situation/whatever it is in the Ogilvie Transportation Center in Chicago? That's my building, the Citicorp building. They've finally stopped the announcent telling us not to let anyone in or out, and stopped the flashing lights. It's supposedly on the 1st, 2nd, and/or 38th floor. I'm on the 10th. I'll keep you posted.

We're supposed to be having our Christmas party tonight.

No! I'm at work though with no TV / news here besides the 'net.... that sounds awful though, sorry to hear you're stuck there. I can't imagine what it's going to do to the Friday afternoon rush hour either if 1 of 2 main Metra train stations is inaccessible...ouch.

Yeah, I don't have a tv either. Ok, this isn't funny, but it's just surreal.

And at least this isn't the station I take my train out of. Geffric uses this one, but she just went to WDW! (She's gone by now, right?)

They're still saying to stay in here and away from the glass doors in the elevator lobbies, which is unfortunate since you have to go by them to get to the bathrooms.

I'm hearing now that they may have gotten the guy? More later....

Busses still being rerouted. Trains not running for quite awhile.
One person was shot in the foot. Three are critical. Now they are reporting a death on the scene.
K-9 officers are on the scene. (Search)
The shooting occured on the 38th floor. May be law offices.

I didnt hear it on our news in Rockford. The big deal here was some guy who claimed to be a terrorist throwing grenades in trash cans or something at Cherry Vale Mall today. That's all I heard.

Their telling people to get an alternate route because trains aren't running for a while from that train station.

last train out was at 3:45.
mr mac is stuck down there right now. he is across the street from it waiting it out.

trains have to go into the station in order to turn around and the lines coming in from the north haven't been able to get in.

the metra opened up around 5:15 and should be able to start the north line within 15 to 30 minutes they say.

4 shot by the gunman. police shot the gunman but believe he may have tried suicide when they found him and shot him.

he held a hostage when the swat team found him but police shot him and he is dead.

the person shot in the foot ...hospital reports he/she is now in stable condition. other 3 are listed as critical from last report given.


you can take the train if you enter from the w. madison entrance and go staight thru and up the escalator they are reporting from metra.

geffric leaves at 5 am tomorrow i thought for the motherland.
i would have to re read her post to make sure i have that correct.
