Hi Everyone,

Well here it is Wednesday, hump-day, so we're almost done with this week. Debbie6221, I hope you don't mind, but I totally made that Partners picture my wallpaper. It's a great picture and it makes me happy to look at it!!

I just got some bad-ish news that my nephew is being sent to Iraq in February. Sigh. He's not going to be in the direct line of fire, but he'll be in Iraq and that's bad enough. He's a firefighter in the Marines, so he'll be putting out fires and is now training on different types of aircraft and how to best extinguish fires on each different plane.

I'll see some of you on this upcoming Pumpkin Patch meet on Saturday.

My folks are coming for a visit today, up from Florida (suckers!!) and they'll be staying for a week or so. So, if I'm not on the boards too much, it's because I'll be busy "entertaining". Megan is super duper excited that her Nanny and Papa are coming to visit!!

Ha...here's a funny! My boss just brought a few new "guys" around for introduction and I bet if you add up their ages, they still aren't as old as me! Geez, are they hiring these kids right out of high school???? Green green green. Well since I pretty much just got busted on the DIS by my boss, I better scoot and get some work done!

:wave2:

SamIAm No problem using my pic. I got that by getting into MK early for the CRT breakfast. It was really cool being in the park while it was practically empty.
I bought the ornament of that statue too.
I actually bought way to much stuff to bring home. Sometimes I think I am out of my mind when it comes to WDW.

Sorry about your nephew. It really doesn't seem real until you know someone who it directly affects. I'll think happy thoughts for you.

BigBen...come on...they have got to let you post pictures!!!!! I am going to do my next couple days of pix now.

Sandy..How is it going??? Nervous???? I contimplate going back to work all the time (to pay for all my WDW trips & souvineers for one) and I kind of start to freak out about it. Maybe a little bit here and there until my kids get a little bigger. I teach so I guess I could always sub first.

Kim where are you??????
Becky2005 Good luck to your DD. When do they find out?
Bunchkin What kind of foot surgery did you have. My DH has Planters Fasitis. I think????
Macraven That is so sad about your DS. I am SO....glad he will be OK. Thank God he is back home.
Hi to everyone else.
Still trying to remember who's stories go with who.

Please forgive me if I send the wrong message to the wrong person!

To the newbies - you can put your pics on photobucket and then place the link here :thumbsup2

Here's pretty much the last of what I downloaded at photobucket. I still have my Mom's, Brother's and Dad's pics to go through too. These are just from my camera. We also have our photopass pix to look at. We have been waiting to do that.

WDW Day 5
Today we decided to just relax a little (take it out of overdrive) and we left the kids with the men and ran over to shop at MK by ourselves. We wanted to get to the Christmas store before the crowds hit. Do not do the Christmas store late if you want personalizations. Well, we got in early and then the store didn’t open until 10! So back to Main Street to shop there and then back to the Christmas shop. Not a lot of pix from my end on this day so this TR part will be boring.

We ventured out to Epcot after some GF pool time and ate dinner at the Japanese restaurant which we do every trip. It was great and the kids were entertained by the Japanese chef’s (who happened to be a women) antics. We went on Soar’n. It was pretty cool
WDW October 2006 Day 6

This was our morning of CRT breakfast. Even though the regular crowds aren’t let in until 9 they let the breakfast people in early. This is where I got a ton of great pix because there were hardly any people around. I put a few on my cell phone too so I could use them as wallpaper.

They took beautiful pix of us at the castle plus we did a ton of photo pass shots throughout the whole trip. They are included with your meal.

After breakfast, which was wonderful, we went on a couple rides. Peter Pan for the billionth time along with BTM where I really irritated my DD. She got off and said” Mommy, that was an adult roller coaster!!!” She hated it to say the least!

Looking for his Sis!

My Mom informed me that she would be treating us to another night of MNSSP. I was thrilled. The guys went golfing and when they were done we dropped off the baby with them too so the three of us got to run everywhere with hardly any lines. My DD didn’t want to stop. We went on it all. Wel, everything that was open. We went to see Ariel…NO Ariel and then we went for a train ride…no train ride. Oh well. Off to Toon town…

We had dinner before the party started at Crystal Palace.

Last full day October 2006 WDW

We decided to head back to MK to hit what I felt like we missed. We saw the morning entrance show for the first time (I have heard it a million times), Went on our train ride and waited to see Ariel (my DD’s favorite Princess for the moment).

It was a wonderful day which ended with dinner at the ConCourse Steak House.
How most trips start and end……….

My DH has the video camera, I'm in the Tank. My Mom is on the one side of Pluto my Brother then my Dad are on his other side and the kids are obvious.
This is my favorite pic (the big guys were golfing)

don't give that a second thought debbie

i paved the way for you a long time ago.

i read, i forget......
then i post and everyone gets a good laugh over my mix ups when i did that in the beginning.

sometimes i do a generic greeting to all.
i think the group is getting used to me......
:rolleyes1

I don't post about everything I read, but I do read every post! (that sounded confusing :confused3 :rotfl: )

you know what I mean... :teeth:

Hello all!! :wave2:

Today I spent over 2 hours!!!!!!!!! on the phone with Cingular trying to get our new cell phones activated. 5 people later they finally got 2 out of 3 phones working. The other one needs to be 'worked on'. Hopefully it will be up and running by tomorrow. Not a happy camper about this though!! :sad2:

Tomorrow is my follow up appt. with my cardiologist who did my procedures.
I have a LOT to talk to him about. Just the other night I had palpitations for no obvious reason. :sad2: And I was having them right before vacation and into the first few days of it too. Not good!

Sam I'm so sorry to hear that your nephew is being deployed. I hope he stays safe and that his time there is very short! ::yes::

macraven My thanks to your son for supporting and serving in our country's military!! I'm sorry that he was injured. What a brave young man!! :goodvibes

Debbie Love the pics! The ribbon your DD is wearing at the CP is soooo cute!!! Where did you get it?
I had plantar fascitis surgery last June in both feet. Not a fun procedure. And not a great recovery, for me at least. I'm on my 3rd podiatrist, one's who used to work with the White Sox. I quit seeing the doctor who did my surgery. Seek out a good doctor for your DH, and then seek a second opinion!! :thumbsup2

Becky Congrats on your DH's new job!!! :cheer2:

Well, I've got lots to do before bed.
So good night all!!!

i thank you for your kind words bunchkin

time for green lights out.

sweet sleep

Becky2005 Good luck to your DD. When do they find out?

Please forgive me if I send the wrong message to the wrong person!

She finds out on Friday -- tomorrow's going to be a L-O-N-G day for her & then Friday (at least that's only 1/2 day of school -- they find out at the end of the school day).

Wouldn't you know it, her group was the LAST group to try-out. I'm freaking out because they said try-outs were to end around 4:30. DS-6 (Kyle) has karate from 4 - 4:45. So I drop him off, tell the instructor that I will probably be late picking him back up (from past experience just because it *says* 4:30 for try-outs, who really knows)...sure enough I'm sitting there and 4:30 comes & goes...then 4:45 comes & goes, still no DD. Other girls but no DD. FINALLY at 4:55 out comes DD -- we basically book it back over to the park distict to pick up DS-6 and then home to get supper with minor detail of I have to take my DS-9 back to the park district for karate at 6:00!!! ACK!!!

I tell you it never fails. If I had NOTHING going on DD would have been in that first group & probably get out before I was there, then she would complain I was late picking her up or something. :rotfl2:

Don't worry about responding to the wrong people. It's easy to do. I know I have a hard time keeping up with everyone. I do read the posts but sometimes I don't have time to respond & then when I do I've forgotten what I wanted to respond/say.

I'm so sad....

Santa's Village really is no more at all.

They auctioned everything from it off today. :sad1:

I know it certainly wasn't Disney but we grew up going there every summer with my Grandma for years. I took my kids there (well...except the youngest 2) and it was just nice because it was fairly closeby & didn't cost nearly as much as Great America (plus since in my brain that is where you go when you are older).

Just seems bizarre to me to think that it doesn't exist since it's *always* been there to me.

I do, I do!!! Well, at least 3 of you, now! :thumbsup2 Great to meet you Tuesday Debbie!! Thank you for the Mickey head rice krispie treat! :thumbsup2 (I felt like I knew you before we met - the DIS is funny that way ;) ). I also thought you looked like an actress I've seen. :confused3

The boards went down last night when I tried reading/posting and, due to personal circumstances, I just can't post to everyone right now. :guilty: Sorry. Like others have stated tho, I/we read everything, just not enough time to post.

Congrats!

{{HUGS}}

Prayers

Best Wishes

to everyone I read about! :grouphug:

FYI about Disney Mobile - I WON 2 phones with 1 year service, FREE. Haven't had any monetary/roaming problems with it at all. :thumbsup2 (LOVE the family features and controls actually!) We were ONLY charged for DSs text messaging usage once, last month (our 2nd month using it) but, when that happened, I made him buy a package. ;) It cost him $14 last month. This month tho, another $0.00 bill!!!! Gotta LOVE THAT! :woohoo: (Come to think of it, the bill should actually be for the text package this month. :confused3 They ARE working thru glitches, I admit but, when it's FREE for me, I don't care. I try to help when I can. ;) ) However, while I like the phones and services, their actual package costs seem higher to me than our other phones with T-Mobile (YES, we're using 2 cell phone companies now!). :sad2: As for their server, I THINK they said Cingular or Verizon but, that was way back before I actually got the phones. Anyway, for now, I'm taking the FREE phones and services until the end of the 12 months I won!

Wish I had more time to post. :guilty:

Good Thursday morning everyone!!! :surfweb:

It's so nice that Stephanie is on Fall Break today and tomorrow :) I love not having to rush her out the door by 7:30am. It's just to bad I have to work today :guilty: Oh well, I shouldn't complain about only working 2 days a week.

Donna - Thanks for the congrats!!! :goodvibes

Bunchkin - Good luck with your trip planning :wizard: What a bummer that PoC is going to be closed while you are there pirate: I would want to see it too, so I don't blame you for changing your date.

**I have great memories of going to Santas Village as a child, and I can't believe it's gone before I had a chance to take my girls there - how sad!!! :guilty:

bigben - I can't remember the exact dates, but it's at the end of October, so Stephanie is gone during her fall break and will only miss 3 days of school. :teacher: You'll have to let me know if you schedule for the same week.

Sam - I'm so sorry to hear about your nephew :guilty: We have someone on our FD Dept that went to Iraq for the same thing, and he actually enjoyed it. He was suppossed to be gone a year, but when the year was over, he volunteered to stay longer. I hope your nephew has the same experience :wizard:
**Have a nice visit with your parents. I hope they won't be to cold

mac - I'm so sorry to hear about your DS :guilty: He, along with everyone that protects our country, are true heros!!!! ::yes::

Kim - You sound like you need a hug !!! When you need us, we are here for you!! :grouphug:

Well, that's about it from me today. I need to go get ready for work - have a good day today everyone!!!

Good Morning All :)

It seems all I do lately is work :faint: , lurk :smooth: and laundry

Congratulations slo

Debbie I liked your pictures and report :thumbsup2

I think I am sad :sad1: but I am not sure yet. This will be the first year in 27 years that I won't be going trick-or-treating. Stacey is finally to old to be seen with mom. My oldest will also be 28 on Halloween.

I hope everyone has a great day :wizard:

Yeah, a little sad. I think I only took my kids once there, when they were 3.
Is Racing Rapids still open during hte summer? I don't know if they closed that too, or it will be still open??

My wish is that Disney will buy it out and make it a Disneyland or WDW, but of course, alot smaller. Tho, it would only be open from late spring til end of Sept. b/c of weather. Can only wish, tho :goodvibes
Or maybe make it a big indoor waterpark? I know alot of that is being
built thru park districts nowadays.
Wonder what they plan on doing with the land?? :confused3

Bunchkin, don't take your trip off the table as of yet to DL. I know I haven't. There is no news coming from Disney itself about the closures (or have you heard otherwise??). I am sure you all have seen or read WDW Trivia by Lou Mongello. Well, I am also a participant on his internet board and have conversed with him now and again about things he may have an inside track on. He's very very involved with Disney and he has a lot "friends" in the parks. wink wink, nod nod. He said he doubts very very highly that there will be another closure of POTC this spring in DL. He said if Will & Elizabeth are added, it will be after the movie is premiered, not before. So, I'm still "planning" on it being open. I won't make my official plans until after the first of the year though. By then, for sure, we'll have some sort of official announcement.

To everyone else. Good morning, but where's our :sunny: ???

DH and I don't have kids but we still go!! We dress up and everything. We just "borrow" someone else's kids and take them trick or treating! :rotfl: This year, it will be my cousin who went to WDW with me and my Mom.

Well I guess I could always "borrow" the granddaughters :teeth:

Good Morning all!!!

No sun here either. AND it's raining!! :umbrella: What a poopy day!! :rotfl:

Well, I just got done looking at directions for going to U of C Hospital today. I'm trying to avoid the Dan Ryan, especially since it is raining. That will only mean that all the people who freak out driving in bad weather will be out too! :sad2: Gotta love those drivers! NOT!! :rotfl2:

I have a new Brownie joining our troop!! :cool1: Now we have a whopping 7 girls!! :thumbsup2
Her mom was supposed to come by this morning to fill out forms, but she called and canceled because she is sick.
So I ran around like a chicken getting ready this morning for nothing!! :teeth:

slo I'll be sure to let everyone know what happens at the cardiologist today!
I hope Stephanie has a nice couple days off from school!

jedi That's nice of you to take your cousin trick or treating!!
Want to take my kids too? :teeth: ::yes::

NiteOwl Same for you.....my kids are available for tricks and treats!! :teeth: :rotfl:

SamIAm I'm not giving up. But I am weighing my options.
My problem is that as much as I love planning, I like the basics nailed down right away. Ressies made and out of the way!! :thumbsup2
I will wait till Dec/Jan and see if anything official is said. I did go ahead though and see what it would be to go in early June, and it's actually about the same price (a little cheaper).
My other worry is missing out on low air fare with Southwest. They are currently having ressies up to March 9th. Hopefully they won't release any more dates until we find out if POTC will be shut down or NOT!!! :thumbsup2
But I did give up totally on the idea of going during Christmas.......last check as of yesterday the air fare was up to $1400 for the 4 of us!!

I already have dinner in the crock pot!!! I've never done a pot roast in the crock pot before so I thought I'd give it a try!
This is the 2nd crock pot night this week!!! :teeth:
