:earseek: whoa that is awful! They don't have any right to judge you like that. And that mom should not make assumptions without knowing how you are. But if I was that leader, I wouldn't have taken that lady's word for it. I would have liked to know first hand, especially if she knows you. An email, anything. And it sounds like those other 2 moms are pretty eager to take things over. Maybe just sitting them all down and explaining that you're ok enough to run the troop will set things straight. But if you do need help, at least you have some volunteers!

Let's see how eager they are to lead when the troop will be needing a new leader at the end of the school year in the spring.
:rotfl:
They all know it's hard work. So let's see who steps up!! ::yes::
I wanted to quit before last year started, but no one wanted to take over. So I felt obliged to continue.

Some other good news: I spoke with my old friend/co-leader for my Brownie troop today, her daughter wants to return to our troop and she wants to help me with the troop again!! :cool1: I'm really excited about this, as we really got along.

One of the calls I got today was from one of my troop girl's moms. She was telling me how her and another mom from the troop were discussing how I might not be up to handeling the troop and how they can take care of things if needed. :rolleyes2  What???? Am I hearing that right? :listen: I haven't heard from any of them for over a month, way before my procedure, and they are talking about my condition without even knowing how I am. :confused3 :stir: Don't you think one of them would have called me and asked me how I was before discussing things they don't know about??

At a meeting I went to last week, another leader told me how she heard about my health issues from one of my mom's. She was calling this mom to see if she could help with summer camp back in June. When the mom said she couldn't the leader said she would call me instead. And my mom told her "oh, no, don't bother calling her. She's unable to do anything....blah blah blah."
So the leader thought that I wasn't taking calls. :furious:
It's one thing to tell someone so and so is not well, but to tell them not to call someone is rude.

I am thankful this is my last year as a leader!! ::yes::
Yeah, some Brownie/Girl Scout moms and some leaders are just gossip and more gossip :sad2: I was at the back to school picnic last Thurs at our school. During hte picnic, two of the moms were talking right in front of me about the Brownie troop my dd was in. they were talking about a former Brownie leader we had 2 yrs. ago. Except these 2 moms' girls were not in our troop, they were in the other Brownie troop, same grade, tho. Anyways, these 2 moms were gossiping about my dd's former Brownie leader in front of me. The former Brownie leader mom, her dd's go to our school, too. I thought it was a little bizarre they are gossiping in a quieter voice about this other mom in front of me. So when I found out they were talking about a former Brownie leader, I just took off and went somewhere else.
It seemed like the 2 moms didn't want me in the conversation, but they knew I was there :confused3 . Just all gossip stuff

Glad you and the other mom are co-leading again :thumbsup2

Hmm thats a tough one. I'd probably wish for an unlimited sum of money so I'll never have to worry about funds ever again. And I could give money to the poor and fund cancer research and the arts and other noble causes. :goodvibes

Good evening those of you disers left out there. DMM I will be going to the Oct 10th MNSSHP. If you'd like a pin from that night, just let me know. Anyone else? I believe you can purchase two per wristband, right?
Bunchkin. Bless you for being a troop leader. All the crafts and projects that the kids need to do to earn badges. Me and my inability to create anything are definately unwelcome in the Brownie troop. Anyone else remember Ray Raynor and his inability to create the craft that they gave him to copy? Yeah, that is me!!!
We had a busy day again today. Caught up on the laundry and cleaning. DD had a friend over, DS went fishing with Grandpa then had soccer practice, visited the library and the video store. Supposed to rain, so needed something to occupy kids for babysitter tomorrow.
Well, I'm going to check out tonight. Up at 5 AM. Only a good hour when you're at WDW getting up to watch the sunrise!! Only 47 more days for me!! :cool1:
Night all.

Hi everyone! Guess what? :woohoo: I was just offered the postion at South School! The school I wanted!! The woman that was originally offered the postion didn't pass her background check!

Granted it is less money but the hours are perfect. I can be there for Allison if she needs me. Then when she gets into high school I can torment her. :lmao: only kidding, not. :lmao:

Hope everyone is having a great day like me and as happy as I am right now!
Congratulations on your new job :wizard: It's always nice to get a job where you like what you do and where you work.

Niteowl71 I was looking at your picture and thank God you have a "happy" child with all the feelings your company is going through while at WDW. ANd I bet you will have a better scenario in 34 days
~timmy

Not only is it nice having a happy child, it's nice that at her age (13) she can still act like a little girl. :ssst: don't tell her I said that.
