Welcome to our thread!!! Please come by often and visit, we would love to get to know you!!!

HERSEY - Steve Irwin dying is so sad!!! :guilty: You could always tell that his love for animals, his zoo, and his family were truly genuine. I'm going to miss him.

Donna & Rosemarie - Have fun at the parade. I hope the weather holds out for you :wizard:

Disneynut71 - I'm glad you had fun at Kiddieland yesterday. :cool1:

To all my other Chicago friends - Hi there!! :wave2:

Well, I gotta run and give the girls some breakfast. Have a good day everyone!!!

I just love how many of you organize everything, and I just nod my head and I want to say "ditto"... and then I was going to add 2 things... but I forgot!! That darn CRS is bothering me again!!! (CRS = Cant Remember Stuff) :rotfl2:

If I keep coming in here, I'll learn names better!! Thanks for welcoming me!! :yay:

I love Brookfield Zoo, not been to Kiddieland, so glad to hear the positive review!! Our neighborhood isnt doing a parade, but dd is in the Irish Step Dance show in Long Grove IL - hopefully the rain will hold off around 3:00!! :wizard:

Also :wizard: that those swirly images on the weather radar will NOT turn out to ruin a few of our WDW trips!! It wont be long now - we're headed down last week of Sept!!

Good Labor Day morning all. Had a busy weekend. Luckily the board wasn't too busy and I could catch up.

....edit...

OK, well off to clean, sort and shop. Headed to Westfield in Merriville today, and some other shopping that direction. Since it's raining, not much else to do. Have a good day all.

I remember one - Merriville or, 'Southlake Mall" is my old stomping grounds!!! Grew up in NW IN... It has changed some, and its always so very crowded!!

two... Slo  Sandy, I"m also Sandy!!! :wizard:

eeyore45 :sunny: pixiedust: I hope the rain doesn't ruin your daughter's parade. I thought I saw the sun not to long ago. Maybe I was just seeing things.

Well...we didn't march in our Labor Day parade this morning. The rain ended right about 9am, but Matthew didn't want to march this morning. I'm sure the parade started at 10am as usual, but Matthew doesn't like to be rained on, so he didn't want to take the risk of being caught in the rain. Oh well. dh and I felt a little guilty that we didn't march inthe parade this yr. Matthew did march last yr with his Cub Scout pack. And then he can march next yr as well.
We did end up going to Chuckee Cheeses for a couple of hours today. Then went furniture shopping a little bit. Didn't buy anything, but just looked around. ;) It's been a tiring 3 days. I'm pooped :faint:

Donna- did you go to the parade? How was your ds's band?

NiteOwl71- Enjoyed the pics!

Hi to everyone else I missed :wave2:

I'm ready to fall asleep in front of the computer here :sad2:

Talk to you all later

I'm so sad...our cat is not going to make it. DH is there right now since he called earlier and she is not getting any better, there is nothing more we can do about it.

Here is a picture of her when she was younger.

Hi everyone!! :wave2:

What a successful day I had today. :cool1:

I got laundry done
I got the girls things layed out for vacation
I got bills paid
I mopped the kitchen floor
I feel so accomplished :teeth:

Thanks again for all the continued nice posts about Kevin's Grandma - I appreciate it!!! :grouphug:

NiteOwl - Love the pictures!!!

Tiggernn - I wish I would have seen your post earlier. I would have told you that Yankee Candle is having a great sale on some of their candles (if you like candles). I was there Friday and Saturday.

geffric - Were you able to do your BBQ?

scrappinmom - :wave2:

eeyore45 - We are going the last week of Sept. too  Where are you staying?

HERSEY - :wave2:

Rosemarie - I sorry Matthew didn't want to do the parade - but Chucky Cheese sounds like a lot of fun!!!!

Becky2005 - Many continued hugs for you!!! :grouphug:

Well, I gotta run - our pizza is going to be here any minute!!! :goodvibes

Have a good night everyone!!

Becky - I'm so sorry to hear about your kitty. :grouphug: My thoughts are with you. :sad1:

slo - hugs and prayers to you and your family - I'm sure Kevin's Grandma is with your Grandma, just as you said, watching over you. :grouphug:

kim - That is so sad about your BIL. You're also in my thoughts :grouphug:

And speaking of sad days, I was really bummed about Steve Irwin's death :guilty: I was watching TV this morning with my cousin (yes, camping :teeth: ) and they briefly mentioned his death and my cousin and I looked at each other like "WHAT?????" :scared1: I've been watching Animal Planet all night, watching old interviews, crying here and there. I really had a lot of respect for him because he was passionate about what he did, and as someone who loves animals, I admired what he did.

Speaking of nature and wildlife, I'm back from my "camping" trip - along with a whole sleu of mosquito bites on my ankles. My Mom and I were sitting in the camper watching the Nascar race on Saturday night when the storm came in (did Chicago get that storm??). The satellite signal went out and it was coming down hard. My dad and cousin were at my aunt's campsite and they immediately drove back and the 4 of us huddled under a blanket on the tiny couch in my parents camper and listened to the rain :goodvibes

It was a fun weekend, but there were times I really missed not having the Internet. :lmao:

Becky- That is so sad! I know what you are going through. The same exact thing happened to my cat 2 years ago and he did not make it.
slo & kim- I am so sorry to read about the losses your families have experienced. :grouphug:

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I have not read all the posts yet. I was out of town and just got in a few hours ago. The kids spent time with their dad and I got to hang out with a friend and see her new house.
Steve Irwin's death is truly a "freak accident". He was wacky, but lovable. I feel sorry for his wife and two kids. How very sad.

 and Thanks everyone!

Here is the most recent article about BILs accident/death...

CAMPBELL
Backpacker found dead on Mt. Brewer
- Erin Allday
Sunday, September 3, 2006

A Campbell man who had been on a solo two-week backpacking trip through Sequoia and Kings Canyon national parks was found dead in a remote wilderness area Friday, four days after his family reported him missing.

Gregory Raye, 50, appeared to have fallen to his death near the summit of Mount Brewer in Kings Canyon, according to the National Park Service. His body was spotted by a search helicopter in a steep, narrow chute above 13,000 feet elevation.

The intensive search for Raye involved 87 people with six dog teams, mounted patrols and five helicopters. The 66th Rescue Squadron of Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada also was called in to help search.

Raye's backpack and campsite were found early Friday morning by a search dog team, and his body was found a few hours later.

His son has planned an Irish wake on 10/14 (his BD), at a bar in CA. :confused3

Becky, I'm so sorry. :guilty:

I start back to work in 8-1/2 hrs. I better get some sleep. 'Nite everyone!

Good Tuesday morning everyone!! :surfweb:

Today is going to be a long day. I have to work until 2 and then grab Katie from daycare, race home to get Steph off the bus, get us all ready and get to the funeral home to be there until 8.

jedi_librarian - Thanks the hugs and prayers :)
**I feel the same as you about Steve Irwins death. His death really saddened me - the world is going to miss him :guilty:
**I'm glad you had a nice time on your camping trip. :cool1:

paintnolish - Thanks for the hugs :)
**I'm glad your kids had a nice visit with their dad and you were able to visit with a friend :)

Kim - I hope you have a good first day back at work today :wizard:

To everyone else - Hi there!! :wave2:

Well, I'm off to get ready for work - have a good day today everyone!!

Becky - I'm so sorry about your cat :grouphug: I hope the sun shines a little bit for you today

Slo - WHat a long day....I hope tonight you sleep well

Kim - that's such an awful story. I'm so sorry.

We're sad here too over Steve's death. Gracie loves or at least use to love to watch his videos.

WHat a weird weekend...I know so many sad things that happened to so many of our friends....

I got some stuff accomplished....need to do some laundry today. The drywallers are coming to sand everything the last time...so I get to go pick out the paint for the basement.

Starting to get ready to pack for our trip. Need to find those darn throw away ponchos....can't find them anywhere all of a suddden.

Rainy dreary day again...I hope the sun comes out

Have a great Tuesday everyone :wave2:

Morning..

Becky :grouphug: I am so sorry about your cat. At least she didn't suffer and have pain for a long time. It is very hard to put a pet down but it is the best thing for her and it shows your love for her.

Kim :grouphug: i am so sorry for your loss, at least he died doing what he loved best. What a freak accident ,like Steve Irwin, though. You're also in my thoughts :grouphug:

Jedi - it is scary to be on a camping trip when there is a bad storm. Glad everyone was safe and dry. We had a bad storm with lightning, lots of wind and hard rainl on our trip this summer. It was blowing so hard that I thought the tent was going to fall down.

paintnolish welcome back. Glad you had a nice weekend.

To everyone else - Hi there!! :wave2: back to work..

Good Morning All :sunny:

Yes right now the sun is shining.

Stacey is getting ready for school, my house must be the center point or something :confused3 girls started arriving at 7:30 and they just left and there were 6 of them.

I am off today also but have to go to a meeting at 1 pm. The big conversion starts tonight after we close, they are going to tear down the registers and put in all the new ones along with RX computers and our main computer. It is supposed to be done by oping tomorrow which is 7 am. I am scheduled to start at 6 am.

I didn't do anything yesterday, just watched some Disney on the Travel Channel, played on the computer and visited my friend Bonnie. So that means today I have laundry to do and maybe I will start packing. I doubt very much if we are going to need all our summer clothes between now and when we leave.

Kim--- :grouphug: hugs again. Are you planning on going to CA?

slo---everything you did yesterday I have to do today, after I get off the computer :rotfl:

Jedi---Welcome back, I was in a storm when we went camping in Michigan a couple of years ago. We were in a tent and it was no fun :sad2: everyone else went to sleep but I just stayed awake imagining the worst.

Becky--- :grouphug:

Hello  to everyone else and have a great day.

Good morning, Chicagoland! :wave2: I'm sick as a dog with the tummy bug that Madeline had on Friday and Saturday.

We went to Kiddieland on Sunday and had a fantastic time. Got to meet Dora the Explorer, and the kids just had the best time. :thumbsup2

:grouphug: to everyone going through difficult losses.

Have a good day! :goodvibes

Hello everyone!

I know the issue over page count caused a bit of a kerfuffle, but I really want to say that it makes things so much easier on the board. It's easier to keep up and catch up with people. I'm not missing nearly as much as I used to. I'm getting so excited for y'all who are leaving real soon! I can't wait to hear about everyone's trips!!

KimRaye: So sorry about the loss of your brother. It must be very difficult losing him at such a young age. It sounds as if he was a very free spirit and adventurous. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts!

Becky! So sorry about your kitty. It's so hard to let those little furry family members go. They are so very treasured! P&PD coming your way!!

Slo: Yesterday was a holiday, why were you working so hard!! :rotfl:

Disneymama: Hope you feel better real soon. Stomach bugs SUCK!

Well, it was sort of a quiet weekend for me. I spent a lot of time with Megan and it was a little hard to let her go this morning! I really wanted another day off to hang out ya know! Why is it three day weekends go by just as fast as two day weekends?

I have no major news to report, so I'll let y'all get back to your day! :thumbsup2

SamIAm21 & Carrie, thanks for the well wishes! :goodvibes I'm just DISing the day away hoping it goes by really fast. DD2 has been pretty accommodating so far watching Wiggles dvds. :thumbsup2
