We just got a phone call this morning from Kevin's Dad telling us that Kevin's grandma finally passed away last night :guilty: . Her death was a good thing ::yes:: She was 87, she couldn't eat, she couldn't drink, she couldn't talk, she didn't know who we were - it was time for her to go to heaven where she could be herself again. I hope her and my Grandma can meet up somewhere where they can keep an eye on us together :)

It's sad to think we are going to live in a world without our Grandma's, but her and my Grandma gave us so many wonderful memories - I thank God everyday for those memories!!!!

Slo: I'm so sorry to hear about your loss, but yes sometimes death is a blessing to the person passing over. They are free of the bodies that held back their true spirit. Now they can go and be free and spend "time" with all their loved ones! I hope all my dearly departed will be there on the day of my passing to greet me!

And, this is something else I wanted to share here on the board today. Seems like we could all use a little reminder!

Screen Friends
by Miasartiff

My husband has finally gone to work
My children have finished their play
they've gone to bed their stories read
Now it's my time of day.

I've had one of those days
you know what I mean
so I sit back and relax
and turn on my screen.

I'll talk to all my friends
who know just what to say
to make my stresses go
and my troubles fade away.

My friends you're always there for me
whenever I feel blue
and though we've never met before
I know our friendships true.

And although we haven't been friends for long
in this short time it seems
we shared so many things already
our hopes, our fears, our dreams.

We come from different walks of life
but we share a common bond
and it's time to say that of all of you
I've grown so very fond.

So thank you friends for being there
whenever I've needed you
I know you're always there for me
and you know I'm there for you.

Let's all try to remember what's truly wonderful about the Internet and how because of it, we have all come together to share our love of Disney. From this, we have all made some friends. And really, there's nothing more important in life than family and friends!

Kim - Sorry about your BIL. :grouphug:

slo - Sorry about Kevin's grandmother, but glad she's in a better place. I know exactly how that was with my grandparents.

2sweetangels - :bday: :cake: party:

This was pretty funny. I just bit into a truffle that I got at the Lindt outlet yesterday and a lot of liquid chocolate gushed out! Luckily I actually caught all of it in my hand before it fell on my Donald Duck shirt that I love. (But it's too big so I just sleep in it.) I guess my reflexes are still good. :rotfl2:

Leigh I hate when you bite into a leaky truffle. :teeth: Good thing your still quck, chocolate covered duck doesn't sound yummy. :rotfl:
Alex and I took odgen ave towards the zoo today I was thinking about you. It's funny how some streets have changed and some not so much. Odgen ave is just about the same as I remember.

Slo :grouphug: I am sure Kevin's Grandma is more comfortable now. It's not good when their quality of life is taken away.

SamIAm21 That is a nice poem.

Bunchy Let me know when you all want to go to the zoo. I usually buy passes it works out cheaper.
Oh for all you with kids sept 23,If I remember right, one of the characters from Hannah Montana is going to be there

Ok talk you all later I hear the couch calling too much walking around the zoo. :rotfl: I have to rest up before dinner.

slo and fam........ :grouphug:
kev's grandma is at peace. i know you and the fam will miss her but you have wonderful memories of her.

becky, what is the update on your cat?

:sad1: So far it's not looking too good. Her name is Bandit. DH called this morning and we were under the impression that she was somewhat better. That the sodium count was stablized but her potassium was still too high. We were to call back around dinnertime. We were hoping that it would get into balance. When DH called back at dinner time, the report was that her condition had not improved. Basically she's still lethargic, won't eat, so they are having to force fed her and the numbers are still off. They are giving her Cortizone? I believe he said.

We are to call back tomorrow morning a little bit before 8 AM and see how she is doing. If she hasn't improved though, we are going to have them stop treatment because I think she is too far gone. Especially since she won't eat.

Although she did eat on her own a teeny bit right before we took her in, so it sounds to me like she's actually worse. So, I don't know if she had perked up this morning and then went back downhill or what exactly but it just didn't sound like it was very hopeful. We had to try since they couldn't say why it was happening.

It's just a rough weekend on us all here (probably me the worse though right now. The kids seem to be taking it OK as of right now -- they keep asking if we can get a new kitty! Geesh! But they are sad too just hopeful that all will be fine tomorrow.)

Good evening!!!!! :wave2:

I have studied so much today, that my brain is full of knowledge. I can hardly wait for this test so I can spew it all out. I feel my brain swelling as I type. I have bloat of the brain :lmao: :rotfl2:

So, I thought I would DIS a little before I go to bed

Thanks to everyone for their kind words about Kevin's Grandma passing away :goodvibes . As normal, you are all there for me, and I love you all for it!!!

Sam - Thanks for the wonderful poem :goodvibes . I copied it to my WordPad so I can keep it.

Leigh - I love truffles!!! :goodvibes I'll take a leaky truffle anytime (as long as I'm warned first of the leakage of course :teeth: )

HERSEY - I hope you had a good day at the zoo. You had a beautiful day for it. :sunny:

macraven - Thanks for all those tv times. I'm going to have to print that so I can watch as many as possible :thumbsup2

Bunchkin - I'm glad you had fun at the BBQ :cool1: What a great day to be outside!!!! :sunny:

Becky - Many hugs to you tonight  . I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. We are here for you when you need us!!! :grouphug:

Well, that's about it from me tonight. Have a good night and I'll check in tomorrow!!!

I ate another one and it was the same way! Luckily I had learned my lesson and I just put the whole thing in my mouth so there wasn't a leakage problem! :thumbsup2 Maybe this is why the truffles were at the outlet store! :rotfl: Oh, well, they still taste yummy! :goodvibes

I've been having internet problems. It's like it was last weekend when they said it was down. However, Comcast swears it's fine now. They think it's my router. So I've disconnected my router and my laptop is plugged directly into the modem for now. I'm no longer wireless. I'm sitting on the floor, and I'm very uncomfortable. :guilty: All day long it's been fine, so I was thinking maybe it was the router, but tonight it's been slow, so maybe the problem has resurfaced. I'll have to call tomorrow and see if their logs show any drops. They can tell when there's been a drop, and what the modem is connected to. That's why the made me disconnect the router. If I can show that there's a problem without the router, they'll come out for free, but if they come out and they don't show it's their problem, then it's $75! :sad2:
