Bunchkin and I are indeed BIRTHDAY BUDDIES! I've only actually known one other person with my same date before, although I'm sure there are a multitude of people. I asked her if she got hit up every year with the combo-gift? I know I did, mostly from my brothers! pirate:

I was fortunate and got my fair share of presents. :thumbsup2

We got the tree up this weekend, except it's so big that we can't get the tree topper on. We actually had to cut off an inch or two! I think I'll buy a bow to go near the top!!

I happen to be an excellent bow maker!!! If you are interested. I have a nice big bow that we had on our 9ft tree that I made last year. No tree topper would fit on it either! :thumbsup2

Debbie, I think your last post was one of the nicest I've ever read. Nothing but good wishes and gratitude! Gotta love a post like that. Besides, I like your ramblings!!

I totally agree with this statement!!! ::yes::
:teeth: :thumbsup2 :goodvibes :grouphug:

Sorry i'm just reading today...I was on the second floor. It was so crazy. I was never so scared in my life. I don't have to be down there again until Friday. I don't know how I will feel when I have to go back in.

Did they make you evacuate from the 2nd floor or stay put? I was glad we were just staying where we were.

If you'll be here this Friday, do you want to try to meet up for lunch? We could have something at Corner Bakery, or just at the food court downstairs. :goodvibes

I have to say that what I don't like about this whole thing is that the guy got in by holding a gun on a guard and making him take him up to the 38th floor. What kind of security is that?!? I want my guards armed and ready to take a bullet, like the Secret Service. :rolleyes1 Really, I was feeling more secure sitting in here because I felt like it was probably a disgruntled employee who only had a key card that would allow him access to that one office. But if he had a guard that was taking him wherever he wanted, then that's not so secure.

Reps from the building were handing out a CYA letter as we came in this morning.

My condolences do go out to the victims' families. Killed over a toilet. :sad2: What a nutcase.

I have a feeling we're not going to get a Christmas party. :(

Jedi - I'm so sorry. :grouphug: I hope everything works out for you. And I hope I can finally meet you on Sunday!

And now for my house stuff. I went to the design center on Saturday and stayed there for almost 4 hours! :faint: I touched every carpet sample that they had! (I knew carpet would be the worst.) But I finally got everything picked out.

Here are the latest pictures of my house, from Friday, and then the stuff I picked out. The newer pictures start with #16 (IMG_1319).

There are captions.

And, finally, a few more pictures.

Here are a couple from Friday, all the ambulances and stuff outside.

On that last one it's hard to see, because it had gotten darker, but those red lights are all the flashing lights from the vehicles, not break lights. The streets had all been closed.

And a fun one. This is that Mickey that someone at work got (it was probably a promotional item) and gave to me a while back. Isn't it cool?! :Pinkbounc

sk8leigh & samiam....i'm just stunned that two people from this board were involved in that incident! So glad you're both ok. I would be expressing concern over security too....good grief. :scared1:

Hi everyone!

Hi all :wave2:

Jedi- Sorry to hear about the separation :guilty: :grouphug: . If you are interested, my church has a huge marriage rebuilders workshop. Usually once a week on a Monday night for 10 weeks. Starts up again in January. Not sure where you and Toby are in the separation process, if you and Toby are up for marriage counseling or not. Give me a PM sometime if you are interested in any marriage rebuilders counseling or divorce recovery counseling. My church is really huge in that stuff. Hopefully meet you this Sunday for the Culvers meet :)

Disneynut- :grouphug: :sad2: Sorry you were caught up in that situation downtown, too. So glad you are doing ok and safe! :)

Leigh- thanks for sharing the townhouse pics and the picking out the carpet, appliances pics!

SamIAm- Wow! Maybe you and Bunchkin are twins(sharing a birthday)? just kidding :rotfl2:

Hi to everyone else :wave2:

Thanks to all of you for the best wishes on if I win the essay contest I mentioned. We'll keep our fingers crossed and lots of prayer and PD on that.

I may not be able to post that much this week, as I still need to shop for DH, my parents, and a couple of other people for Christmas. The kids only have 4 more days of school, after today, so I got to get this shopping done.

Have a good day, everyone .

This would either make me older or Sam younger. I think this would only work to HER benefit!!! ;) I don't want to be older!!!! :rotfl2:
Not to say that Sam is old of course!!! :goodvibes :p :thumbsup2 :teeth:

Leigh What a reminder those pictures will be. I'm so glad that all of you who were there from our thread are safe. ::yes:: :grouphug:

4 hours!!! WOW!!!! It does take a long time to choose!! It took us a lot longer then we thought! :teeth:

Hi everyone!

Nope this incident didn't affect me! I got out of town that night just fine! It does shed light on the fact that we need to beef up the security in these downtown business high rises though!

Bunchkin, I wouldn't mind knocking off six years!! :teeth: I never had a sister either so, STAY OUT OF MY CLOSET OR I'M TELLING MOM!! GIVE ME BACK MY CROCS!! :rotfl:

I'm just stopping by for a quick hello while waiting for Stephanie to be done at dance class (then I have to go get her). It sure is a yucky night out tonight. I'm glad that once I get her we are home for good.

Poor Stephanie today started slightly bleeding from her ear :guilty: I feel so bad for her - she's been having problem with her ears for 5 years now :guilty: Her Pediatrician put her on ear drops again, and we'll see what happens. The tube is out of that ear, and ever since it came out, she's had nothing but problems. There's a high possibility that she will need to be retubed - she won't like that at all :sad2:

Bunchkin - To answer your question of the day - we love those movies :) My all time favorite is Ruduloph
22.gif
I have many Rudolph decorations around the house that I love :goodvibes

Debbie - Christmas through your children is wonderful!!! :goodvibes Katie is so much fun this year - she is really getting into Christmas!!

Sam - No we didn't try fitting FD men in the bug - they were all dressed to nice  I still think we should have done it - us wives could have used a good laugh!!! :lmao:

Jedi - Your welcome - we luv ya!!!! :grouphug:

disneymama - :wave2:

Leigh - Your home is coming along wonderfully - I bet you are so excited!!!! :goodvibes

rmom - :wave2:

Rosemarie - Have fun finishing your Christmas shopping this week. :)

Well, I gotta run and go get Ms. Stephanie
Have a good night everyone!!!

ok........let me get this straight..... Disneynut, sk8leight & samiam were all three in the building? We need to form our own security task force. :thumbsup2 Good grief. Three people from this thread were all in a locked down building. I seriously am stunned and shuddering. argh.

rmom I think SamIAm stated a couple posts back that luckily she does *not* work in that building! :thumbsup2 Thanks goodness!!! ::yes::

Sam I would want your Crocs or at least all the cool button thingies on them. ;) You have to remind me of where to get those button things. :thumbsup2

I think Kim has some on her and Kelly's Crocs too! Where is that Kim??? :confused3

Oh Kim.............where are you???

Good Night...
Slo..I feel so... bad for your DD! Thats gotta stink so bad for her.
SamIAm Cool pix! Thanks for sharing.
Where is Kim? :confused3
Got some stuff bought today without the kids and more errands to do tomorrow. I will be at Woodfield for a few hours tomorrow late afternoon/evening.
Sweet dreams everyone!
Debbie

Sandy, I'm keeping Stephanie in my thoughts. My Julia (5) had her tubes removed because they were falling out about a year ago, and she's had 8 infections since. Looks like she'll need to be retubed also.

Hugs to you and Stephanie. :grouphug:

We do have those 'buttons' on our Crocs! www.jibbitz.com should do the trick. :thumbsup2

 & :grouphug: everyone!!!

I took 2 Tylenol PM"s last night, and I slept great!!!! :thumbsup2
I didn't want to get up this morning :sad2:

Today I am going back to the frame shop.
I'm working there today because tomorrow and Thursday I'm going to 2 all day real estate classes that is mandatory to take, and therefore I can't work my normal Thursday. These classes are from 8:30pm to 6:30pm - I"m not looking forward to them :sad2:

rmom - :wave2:

Bunchkin - :wave2:

Debbie6221 - Thanks for thinking of Stephanie. :)
**Have fun at Woodfield today :cool1:

disneymama73 - Thanks for the hugs :)
**Maybe we should take our girls to the same ENT and get a group rate :thumbsup2

Kim - Hi there!!!! :wave2:
I'm glad you checked in - I was starting to get concerned about you.

Well, I gotta run - have a good day everyone!!!

Morning everyone!

Bleh - rain. I hate rain in December. It should be snowing!! Now the rain has melted all the pretty snow. I hope we still get a white christmas! :teeth:

slo - poor Stephanie :guilty:

roseprincess - I sent you a pm :thumbsup2

I hope everyone has a great day! I almost slept late this morning! My "alarm" clock didn't wake me because it was too cloudy - my alarm is my parrot. See, when it's bright out and she knows it's daylight (she's covered at night) she'll start to talk in the morning - loudly - so I will uncover her and take her out. She'll say "Come HERE!" and "You want your mommy?" But this morning it was cloudy and rainy and dark, so she didn't realize it was morning :rotfl:

You can find them at jibbitz.com, but they are cheaper at www.nofeargear.com!! Lots of variety too! Jibbitz rock, but you won't find them at WDW, but there is a Crocs store in Orlando International and they have Jibbitz too at $2.50 a piece :scared1: That's a lot for a little plastic button.

Good gloomy morning everyone!! And it is very gloomy! Blah. I'm glad it's rain though, no shoveling and it's easier to drive on! However, I too am wishing for a White Christmas. It was very weird sitting at the hotel pool a couple weeks ago with 82 degree temperatures :sunny: listening to Bing Crosby croon "White Christmas".

Winter is either cold and bright or warm-ish and gloomy! That's the two choices!

Jedi: I have a little cousin to your bird and he wakes me up when the sun shines in his window too! Yes, Cliffy has his own window!! He loves it!! He is a Senegal Parrot. Small, green with a gray head. Very cute and very lovable! He's named after Cliff Claven on Cheers!!

Well, must run and do some work!

Take care and have a good week out there. Be careful driving!!
