i am still trying to catch up on this thread.
and i do need a vacation in order to recovery from my vacation.

i read one post where it was said the laundry was done. it reminded me that i have one dead load in the washer from last night.........oh well.


yes sandy, i did ohana on tuesday sept 26 solo
i had a full 2 week trip in orlando this year.

now i am planning next years....i'll tell mr mac about it later

have to run, have a doc appointment today.


i missed you all while i was gone but it is good to be back home.

Hate hate HATE the cold weather. I'm even cold here in my office. Why does it have to get cold???

This morning at the train station in Lisle I saw a girl that I recognized from college. I knew she was either my old roommate, or her twin, but I wasn't quite sure which. (She actually has a twin, and both of them were there.) But it was my roommate. So we talked on the train. She lives in Woodridge and is married with two kids. Once again, it's a small world.

hey guys
all of you Wicked meet folks-please send suggestions on lunch! I wanted to do Walnut room, but they don't take reservations and I don't feel too great showing up there at opening and telling them "party of 30 and step on it" One idea I had was the marketplace near the Frango mints that looks kinda like a cafeteria..also in Fields and doesn't need reservations. What can you think of that is relatively lower cost and family friendly? PM me or post on Wicked board (link in my siggie!)

It's Friday the 13th today!!! I don't think we have to worry - it's to cold for the boogie man (or should I be PC and say person ) to come get any of us

Talking about cold - I can't even begin to tell you how cold it was at Stephanie's soccer game last night I look back at it now and think it was crazy for any of us to be out there. Oh well.....one more game Saturday morning at 8:15am and then we are done!!!

Morning..WOW it is cold out today.. The temp in my van read 32 degree this am. Eric has Jazz band, so I have to drop him off at school on Fridays at 7 am.

SLO I know what you mean about freezing cold at the soccer game. Out in a field, without anyplace to stop the wind gets so chilly... I am dreading Eric's 8 pm football game on Saturday..

well wednesay i was REALLY bummed. I finally got the okay for my trip in Dec to work the booth at the convention in Orlando in December. So i called DVC for a studio and got wait listed. So I called WDW and they had NO ROOMS AT ALL for the weekend... NONE!!! the entire WDW resorts. . all of them except AKL at $285 per night were sold out.. I went to bed very sad.. no trip to WDW for me...

last night , I called SWAN and Dolphin and they had a room for $ 225 per night AP rate. GRRRRRR Why did I wait so long, I should have called and made reservations weeks ago.. .. checked the WDW web site tonight and they had CBR for $ 174 per night. Tried to talk myself into that.. so i decided that I would stay for 2 nights not 3 at that rate.. Called CRO and they had a POP open but it was preferred room and more $$$. Went back to the website ALL STARS came up with an opening for the 2 nights. So I booked 2 nights at ALL Stars Music for $ 79 per night. Much better.. Now i can worry about adding on Friday night until i have to book the airfare.. and then if it is only sat and sun OK .. So I am going to WDW for MOUSEFEST after all..
Amy the girls are so big it is unbelievable.. and very cute too..


well back to work... I'll try and stop by to say hi before I leave on Sunday ..

Pixie dust Geffric - a bad day at Disney beats.... this cold for sure!! (etc!!)

Slo - dd 9 last year decided she wanted to knit, so the 21 DS girlfriend knows how to knit - she taught my 21 DS how to knit!! but he couldnt teach us!! Yep, I've always wanted to learn to knit, I used to know how to crochet... but... so I took myself to a JoAnn Fabric store and learned to knit - and I went on the internet there is one great site with a video on how to start.... actually I think that is how I started, I bought the learn to knit kit at JoAnn's, but I needed more training then signed up for the class - that way I had questions!!

Anyway, its kinda fun, but I wish I had made the scarves longer!! BRRRrrrrrr its cold!! I told dd its time to start knitting again!!!

oh I remember -
MINDY - I think the basement of formerly known as Fields may be the easiest - maybe showing up with a group of 30 at the Walnut room can be the first thing, then if that fails we can zoom down to the basement??? It seems Dan posted about a Chicago meet that met at a Pizza Place... are there any big pizza places?? From my knowledge of Chicago (very limited) most of the fast food places are small, (pizza places are small too) then there is that Bennigans on Michigan Ave. What about the Hotel's Palmer House have anything??? (just brainstorming)

Hi all, happy Friday-
Thanks Slo, Geffric, KimRaye and anyone else I missed, for hte prayers and well wishes for Chrissy
Sorry it took me awhile to post how everything went yest. with Chrissy's MRI.
The MRI of her heart went well. She went under general anesthesia. In hte recovery room at first, she didn't seem herself. Her vitals(BP, pulse, breathing)were stable. Her eyes looked a little red and she was sleepy. She took a couple of sips of water. Then we got her dressed. As soon as we got her dressed, she vomited. I was able to catch her throw-up in a big plastic bag, so it didn't go on her clothes or on anyone else. After that, she felt alot better and was hungry! She ate a few teddy grahams and was fine. Her whites of her eyes were white again and she looked and told me she felt alot better. She was also very happy daddy was there for her as well!
The nurses and other staff were really nice to all of us.
We actually got a compliment twice from her post recovery nurse, how patient we are as parents and Chrissy wasn't nervous. The nurse said "I couldn't believe you guys aren't nervous/ anxious and are so calm". I guess I was a little surprised by her comment, but in a good way. She thanked us that we were good, calm parents, not angry or agitated parents. I guess they must get alot of angry or nervous parents??
The only downside of yest. was the parking garage situation. I knew where the parking garage was,but hte parking garage was totally full and the valet guys take over and triple park the cars, vans!! It was a mess! We were never warned about hte parking situation, or lack or parking. So driving over an hour to get there yest AM and then finding out about the parking garage situation was a rude awakening!! Dh was not happy about this! Anyways, we just had to give up our van to the valet guys to triple park wherever in hte parking garage. We only had to pay $4 total for hte all day parking, which was great!
We got back home around 5 pm yest. I probably won't get her MRI results for a few days. When I hear anything, I will let you all know

Becky- To you and your dd. Sorry to hear she most likely
will need back surgery. Just wondering, any suggestion about getting a 2nd opinion of your dd's scoliosis? Also, if you have any doctor appt, tests, surgeries at Children's Memorial Hosp., get there early!! Parking is a mess!!
Keep us posted on future appts for your dd or upcoming surgery.

Geffric- Can I sneak in your luggage??
Glad the resort situation finally worked out for you
