First off: Good Gloomy Morning Everyone. Are the Grim Grinning Ghosts in Chicago today. It sure looks like it!!

Slo: Excellent Trip Report! The pictures are great and you and the family look terrific! The girls are just so smiley. My personal favorite is the one with Lilo. They look super happy and have twinkle in their eyes. I think next year's WDW trip will be for MNSSHP! I have to do this. It looks like great fun!

Slo, our soccer season ends October 21st. It has been a long season. If our coach tried to lengthen it, I think he'd have a bunch of angry Moms. We are the ones standing out there freezing during practice! HA!

Bunchkin: I wanted to publicly thank you for the postcard! We got the Cinderella postcard last night and you literally made my little girl's month! She was unbelievably excited. I acted all shocked and surprised. Asking, Gee, How does Cinderella know our address? The funny part is that at DL in June, Cinderella came right up to Megan and said Hello Princess Megan. She got a quick glance at Megan's Birthday tag, but Megan didn't see her do that, but I did. So, last night, Megan said, well Mom remember she knew who I was at dinner that night. I was like, Oh yeah, that's right! So, Bunchkin, your little magic making postcards really hit the target last night! Megan was tickled pink! :cutie:

I can't thank you enough. :worship:

Geffric - I"m exhausted just reading your schedule!! My boys were active in scouts, my dh the Scoutmaster - they didnt do football - they did hockey!! I cant say I'm sad those days are over... I will say CROCKPOT is a lifesaver - just throw veggies in the bottom, beef or chicken stock and then beef or chicken on top - it works - and I love coming home to the house elves!! (ah if only!!)

Slo - Thank you for the PM!! :goodvibes

Mac - WELCOME BACK - :wizard: I'm still in recovery mode - but got our laundry done!! (not all, as I havent unpacked it all yet!!)

Sam - very cute story!! :wizard: :wizard:

My new tip - buy WDW postcards and when there isnt much of a line for characters, get their autographs!! I'm going to send the postcards to DS' at college - ds gf just had a bday and I have Prince Charming and Cinderella's autograph (from 1900 Park Fare)

Also, at Epcot in one of those pod areas - not Mousegears - across from there - they now have an autograph "Character Meet" I never saw a line!! Pluto was so funny... he got down on his knees for the kids ahead of me... then when he said good bye he kinda toppled over - I ran over and sat on the floor next to him!! It was just a fun interaction... Chip and Dale, Mickey, Miney, Pluto and I think Goofy too were all there - and there wasnt a line - and there was AIRCONDITIONING!!! :goodvibes

Hi all- :wave2:
Kind of a drive-by post.

Welcome back the rest of you from WDW!!

Slo- enjoyed the pics and the rest of the TR!

Asking for prayers and PD for tomorrow, for Chrissy's MRI.
She isn't scheduled for it til 12:30 pm, need to be there by 11am. Dh is taking off of work tomorrow. so ,I, dh, and Chrissy are going to Children's Memorial hosp. This will be an all day event as Chrissy will be under general anesthesia for it. I won't get results of hte MRI until a few days later.
My mom is also taking off of work so she can be with Matthew after school, since we won't be home until 5pm or so. Just pray things will go smoothly tomorrow, and that Chrissy won't sneak food in her mouth the morning, as she loves to eat popcorn:: Can only be on clear liquids in the morning until mid- morning tomorrow. TIA!

Ok, have a good day,everyone!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Bye everyone! We are finally off.... :cool1:
It was a terrible travel day and I hope the rest of the day goes better. To make a long story short...I have been packing and repacking all day to make our luggage fall under 50lbs! Plus now we had to call another friend to drive all of us to the airport so we can fit. :drive: That's 3 vehicles now! What a joke. THANK GOD I will be in WDW tonight(hopefully). I do not do good on the travel day. I just can't see past all the worrying! I don't chill until I am actually in my room. Oh..I can't wait.
Thanks AGAIN for listening!!!! I love you guys all already! You're like my very own personal support group. :grouphug:
BYE!!!
I'll be thinking of all of you! :sunny:

Ditto here Nicole! :goodvibes Kelly let out a 'shriek' after reading it and, I swear she's just clueless about the 'real story'. :rotfl2: She soaks it ALL up! Her comment was, she wondered how Cindy knew her address. :confused3 :rotfl: The personal reference to her summer trip was just over the top! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes princess: Thanks again! And, that postcard was soooooo cute!!! princess:

{{HUGS}}!!!

Hey ... I JUST found the thread. We are out in DeKalb, but lived in the suburbs (Lisle then Aurora) for several years.

Nothing like a party-crasher, huh? Haven't been spending much time on the DIS but trying to read & post more regularly as it's been 10 mos. since our last trip and we probably won't go back until early in 2008. Just needin' a little Disney fix!

Welcome AHR!!! I have a couple Good Friend DISers that live in DeKalb! :thumbsup2 Jump right in!

Hello everyone.

I don't know if you remember a while back I said I was going to take my DD in to get her back check with a specialist for scolosis? Yesterday was the appointment. Boy did we get a shockaroo. She basically has 3 curves and the middle one is already at a 42 degree angle with her having lots of growth to still go. Basically it appears surgery will be in our future. We have been referred to the Shriners hospital, so I hope we get accepted. The doctor wrote a referral letter & I called for an application. According to this doctor, usually you start talking about bracing at 25 degrees and surgery at 40 degrees. DD is already at 42 degrees with a ton of growing to do yet. :scared1: I was not expecting to hear anything like that. Poor DD was very upset. She was doing fine looking at her x-rays with the curves (her dad has it so a curved back is not exactly surprising) but as soon as the doctor said surgery, she was in tears. I thought we would hear, yes she has a curve, we will brace it and then watch it.

So things here have been a wee bit insane! I've been doing more research because I was afraid this meant DD hanging up her gymnastics forever but depending on how things go, she just may need a couple years off but may be able to go back to it (at least reading other stories of kids that have btdt).

My mom said she's coming over Friday to help me clean because I haven't gotten anything done for my little guys birthday (I tend to thrive on last minuteness though, so it's no surprise not much is done yet, just lots of monkey wrentches this week!).

I also set up an appointment for my little guy to get a screening since he will be 3, the usually do it in February but they said they aren't doing a big city-wide round up anymore, so his will be done Oct. 30 and he had better be "normal" :rotfl: ;) I'm not sure I can handle a 4th kid with problems (although I'm fully expecting him to need speech therapy because my 2 older boys did regarding articulation and since he learned to speak with my 6 year old around most of the day, that makes sense to me).

:grouphug: Becky! How old is your DD?

She is 12 years old (plus 7) :lmao: She will be 13 in March.

It just sounded really weird when the doctor did a so you are 12 +7 mo years old after asking her when her birthday was. It reminded me of way back when she was little and her age was done in months.

The good news was that she was happy with the fact that her hips showed she had a lot of growth left to do, she is short. Now some of that is probably due to the back but I'm not exactly tall & my MIL was shorter than I am, so I figured she comes to the shortness naturally with or without a curved back.

Wow Becky, that's a lot for a 12yo+7 to handle. Continued :grouphug: ! Keep us posted.

Good Thursday morning everyone!!! :surfweb:

BBBBRRRRR......it's cold outside!!!! :cold:
We went out to dinner and Sam's Club last night, and I gotta say, I'm just not ready for winter. We were in hats and gloves - I just hate the cold!!!! It will be any day now that my hands my Raynauds Syndrome will be kicking in, and my hands will be bleeding all over the place :guilty: . I need to find some really heavy thermal gloves to help keep that under control.

Stephanie has a game tonight - we are going to be so cold :cold:!!!! I can hardly wait for this season to be over!!!

eeyore - We saw no Prince Charming this year  I always like getting a picture of the girls with P.C.. Oh well, maybe next time
**Your welcome for the PM

geffric - Holy cow, your post made me do this :faint: You sound so busy!!! Try not to get to stressed out.

macraven - Welcome home!!!! :) Were you at 'Ohanas on Tuesday, while we were there? I looked for you, but I didn't see you :sad2: If you were, I'm sorry we missed each other.

Leigh & Michelle - Hi there! :wave2:

Sam - Thanks for the compliment on the TR :goodvibes The girls did really enjoy the 'Ohana breakfast, and we would probably do that one again :thumbsup2

Rosemarie - Sending lots of prayers and PD your way for an easy day at Children today :wizard: It sounds like a long day too - those type of days make me so tired. Please tell us how everything went later.

Kim - Stephanie also asked me how Cinderella knew her address. So I told her we were in the WDW computer since we just stayed at The Poly a couple of weeks ago, and Cinderella has a direct link to that from her castle :teeth:

AHR - :welcome:
Welcome to our happy thread!!!! Please come by often and visit, we would love to have you!!!

Becky - Many hugs coming your way  I'm so sorry to hear the news about your DD's back. Sending lots of PD your way to help you with everything :wizard: Please keep us posted on everything, and whenever you need to talk, we are here for you.

Well, I gotta run and get Steph up for school. Have a good day today everyone!!

BIG WHITE FLUFFLY FLAKES are coming down.... and STICKING!! :faint:

I'm glad I'm not the only one looking at the calendar - we usually have snow for Thanksgiving (not so much Christmas, but Thanksgiving has given us snow!!) yep, gotta luv Chicago weather - if you dont like it - stick around it will change...

dd and I better start knitting again - we started scarves in July, and then just quit knitting!!

RosePrincess - :grouphug: Thinking of you :wizard:

Becky - :wizard: for your dd as well - may the time go by quickly - I hope we live in a world now that gives her compassion, not grief - - I remember going to school with a girl who had scoliosis and had to wear a back brace, and the boys teased her... I never got that - of course us girls rallied around her... :cheer2: I do think some things have changed for the better in this world... technology... surgery... may the time go by quickly...

:wave2: Good Thursday Morning Everyone!! Hope to get motivated to get a goody package up and over to the post office for DS...

oh, and my DD is also having a bday next week... we just got back from Disney, but for some reason, she still wants a bday celebration!! :p

I love, love, LOVE snow. I'm in heaven. My plants are very confused, though. :) Here's my poor rose of sharon:
