Kim St. Jude's charities takes toys. I donate to them all the time. There is a drop box with an attendant near my home. Maybe there is one near you too! :) They will give you a reciept for a tax write off too. Let me know how you liked Mickey's Magic Show today....but don't give away any good details!! :)
I don't know of a St. Jude's around here. :confused3 Guess I better look. ;)

Mickey's Magic Show - Girls really liked it. The actual, real Magic, had me wonderin'! :confused3 Good, imho. It's different. I'm used to the ice shows I guess. Rosemont theater is more hoighty-toighty than I'm used to tho. No drinks allowed in the seats (except water), only popcorn allowed in and, if you buy the cotton candy with the Sorcerer's hat, you can take the hat but, you get a voucher to get the cotton candy AFTER the show. :confused3 Program was $12. Imagine the other $tuff. Thankfully, there wasn't a lot to choose from and, both girls chose nothing! :woohoo: 2 PLUSSES: I don't think there's a bad seat in the house! And, when it was over, people were SLOW getting to their cars. I got out in RECORD time for ANY venue I've attended! :thumbsup2 :moped: Our show was at 2 and, I made it to Walgreens at about 3:40 to get a flu shot, No line! :thumbsup2

Oh, Matt's home - gotta go.

Always keep blanket and extra gloves in your car - I was so grateful I started doing this
Oh, I DO keep both spring/summer and WINTER stuff in the van. Trouble was, long story-short, that Matt came to the meet in his car but, he locked his keys in the car and, he needed to take my van to go and get the spare key - again. :sad2: Therefore, ALL my stuff, including the camera I brought for the 1st time (!), was gone, with him. Kids. :rolleyes2

Good Morning All!!

Up early today. Woken up by a sinus headache....AGAIN!! :(

We are excited to be going to see Mickey's Magic Show today!!! Like we NEED a Disney fix seeing as we just returned home from WDW!!! :teeth:

Thanks for the review Kim!!! :)
I've never seen anyone allowed into the theatre with anything to drink or eat! popcorn:: :confused3 Maybe this is a new rule! I remember once I tried to take a picture and someone came over and verbally slapped me on the hand!! :rotfl:
The parking lot has always been managable when we've been there. ::yes:: We've seen Sesame Street there a couple times and Blue's Clues.
I'm glad there isn't a lot of merchandise there, the kids already went on a spending spree at WDW!!

slo How was the soccor game?? Hope you were able to keep warm!!

Bunchkin New Bon Jovi Pics? :thumbsup2

Kim 'Don't look under the bed" is the movie about what happens to your imaginery friend after you stop believing. It's very cute. I tivo it, I have it somewhere on tape to but I forgot to label. It was one of my bad days :rolleyes1 I wasn't being organized.

Nicole maybe not the movie for Hunter.

I was bad yesterday I got nothing done 2 loads of wash don't count when you have lots more to do. I think that homeless family left me their clothes to wash again. Try to check in later :wave2:

Good Sunday morning everyone!!! :surfweb:

Wow....the frost outside is so thick. My last and final plant is now dead :guilty: It was the only thing I didn't pull out last week because it still looked pretty. Oh well, I guess I better pull that out today.

We were gone all day yesterday.
The soccer game wasn't to bad. The sun was shining bright and the wind wasn't as bad. I was cold, but nothing like Thursday night. Then we came home and changed, and off to the FD :firefight The open house was nice, but I was tired after running after Katie all day. Stephanie saw alot of her friends, and she loved showing them around the fire house. I also saw alot of people I know, and met a lot of Stephanie's friends mom's, which was nice also. One mom and I even exchanged phone numbers so the girls could play. :) Then after the FD Open House we went out to eat at Pizza Hut. It's the first time we have ever done that. We always eat Pizza Hut, but at home. We both agreed that all pizza for some reason always tastes better at the restaurant - we don't know why :confused3 , but it does. Then we came home and I put Katie straight to bed, she was so tired and I watched Poseidon, which was good - I give it a :thumbsup2 So that was my day yesterday.

Oh...I don't remember who asked, but my chicken dinner Friday night was a thumbs down. It didn't turn out well at all, and I was so disappointed. Oh well, I'll chuck that receipe in the garbage :lmao: .

HERSEY - Is Alex's costume something to you make or something you buy? It's been a while since I've seen Narnia, who is Edmond?

paintnolish - How was the pumpkin patch yesterday? I hope you have fun at GA today :)

Bunchkin - What a magical memory for Lauren!! I bet she was a beautiful Belle princess: I can hardly wait to see pictures. Stephanie loved BBB too, and we kept it a surprise also. She got the Diva look and she looked really pretty after she was done. I don't remember our Fairy Godmother's name, but here's a picture of her

Have fun at the Mickey's Magic show. We are going on November 4th, here in Merrillville. It's so rare that something like this comes here that we couldn't pass it up. :teeth: I also hope you headache gets better before you go :wizard: I hate headaches!!!!!

Leigh - :wave2:

Amy - It's terrible that you don't have heat yet :guilty: . I sure hope that landlord puts it on soon for you.

eeyore45 - It's funny that you just mentioned about putting a blanket in your car - I just pulled out the blanket yesterday for me to put it in my car today. You never know when you could have car problems in the winter.

Kim - I have't been to Rosemont Theater for since I was pregnant with Katie, and I do remember it how you described it ::yes:: It is a nice place though. Thanks for the review of the Mickey's Magic Show. :)

To everyone else - Hi there!! :wave2:

Well, I'm off to make some French Toast Sticks - have a good Sunday everyone!!

Ok I not the Narnia expert, I think Edmund is the one who was tricked by the White witch. I'm kind of piecing it together Since I can never find his size not a child not an adult.

Hey, good frosty Sunday morning!

KIM... <glad to hear your boss enjoyed Door County, too...we were really lucky with the weather last week!>Thnx for the review of Mickey's Magic Show...Mark & I are planning to go today...yeah, I know it's for little kids, but shhhh...don't tell anyone the old foggies are gonna go, too! :goodvibes

NICOLE..we're going to the 2 o'clock show..are you? Maybe we'll see you there... :cool1:

EYEORE...I woulda been freaking out totally with that weather...I am glad you all were safe..

SANDY...sorry to hear about your chicken dinner. But, good to hear the soccer game wasn't quite as cold for you guys. I agree that pizza tastes better at the restaurant. Why is that??

HERSEY...you're making the Halloween costume for Alex? You guys are all too talented for me! Gonna make some for the four-legged children, too??

PAINTNOLISH...our youngest son goes to college at the University of Dubuque, which is only about 20 minutes or so from Galena, so we drive thru there whenever we go to his school. We have stopped for shopping there a few times, but never stayed overnight, yet. I think it's a beautiful area, and hard to believe it's still Illinois, since there are so many rolling hills there.

Everybody...have a GREAT day today! Stay warm! :goodvibes

Hi all- Happy Sunday!
Still too cold for me, it better warm up.

Thanks again to all that have been concerned how Chrissy is doing, post MRI.
She is doing really well. No after effects from the anesthesia since we got home Thurs late afternoon. She's been back to her old self! Won't get results of the MRI for a few days. I'm just glad that test is over with.

Hersey- Are you making Alex's costume? That would be cool to be Edmund from Narnia :thumbsup2 Yes, he is the one that was tricked by the witch.
I was hoping to find a Lucy(the little girl) or Edmund costume at Walmart,Target,or at a party store, but no such luck. I didn't want to pay any outragious prices at TDS. So I went with what I could find at Walmart with a pirate costume for Matthew and a pumpkin for Chrissy.

Slo- sounds like you had a good time yest. :thumbsup2
Like the pic at BBB :goodvibes

Hi to everyone else :wave2:

Bunchkin- have fun at Mickey's Magic Show :cool1: I've never been to that one before.

Is it ok to ask, were we going to have a pumpkin patch/game night Meet?
I remember there was talk about it a couple of months ago. I can't even remember who was organizing it. No hurry, just asking. Don't want to get on anyone's bad side :teeth: thanks.

Have a good day.

Roseprincess glad that your all are back home and the experience is over. I never knew about the garage thing. It sounds like they need more parking. Nice to hear that you and your DH 's parenting skills were complemented by the staff.. Hope Chrissy is feeling okay today. When do you get the results back?
::yes:: Yes, they defintely need more parking at Children's. I have read on their website they have only 1300 parking garage spots- for all the doctors nurses, all the other hospital staff, and the rest go to the patients and visitors- which isn't enough.
Children's Memorial is supposed to move to the Loop/ Streeterville area, but not til 2012. I had looked it up on the hosp. website yest. They are supposed to break ground at the new area in 2008 and move in 2012.
If anyone is interested in the hospital's website, it is www.childrensmemorial.org
Once you get the front page of the website, click on the right where it says future hospital site. Also, they have the picture history of the hospital itself.
I went thru the pics and thought it was really cool! :thumbsup2 How the hospital started and how it had grown thru the years.

This so sounds like our family!!! :wizard:

SLO - I got online this morning just to look for a recipe for Cornish Game Hens and Wild Rice - the last time I made it - the wild rice was.... CRUNCHY!! and I cooked those hens, with the rice mix precooked (well not thouroughly - you see I 'thought' that cooking it for 1/2 hour on the stove then baking it for over an hour was sufficient - nope not!!) So I'm going to try again!!

Thanks for the Magic Show Review - esp the theatre review - I'm almost paranoid of crowds, so much so I am so glad dd has outgrown the need - we were invited by Disney when the boys were young to the Ice Skate show, and the kids then got to go on the ice (after the crowds left) with the Mickey et el!! It was due to Stan Mikita - DS is part of Stan's Hearing Impaired Hockey School - such a wonderful memory - your post reminded me how much I hated going to any shows there, it was all about the junk you had to buy - glad some things are changing!!

ROSEPRINCESS _ :wizard: Thanks for the update - glad things are getting back to 'normal' :wizard: :wizard: for results!!

HERSEY - Wow... wow... costume... making... DD (10 on Tues!)... I thought she was going to be a girl pirate - pirate: almost shelled out the $45 for the Disney costume... while we made the whirlwind costume hunting... she decided she wanted to be CLEOPATRA!!! DD often picks something out of the ordinary!!! DD loves to hand sew - I buy her remnants at JoAnn Fabrics, and a small sewing kit/box... and she makes pillows - I'm trying to get her to make stuff bags... I'm debating on taking beginner sewing classes, and investing in a sewing machine - I'd like to nurture this aspect of dd - Now I cant tell you how many places I've gone, and junk we bought (meaning it looked good, but when we got it home, it broke - and there's no return policies - the wig was ridiculous - it showed a pic but the actual wig is crap!!) I think I'd be better off just ordering from the internet!!! The October diliema!!!

GO BEARS!! :cheer2:

Back from Mickey's Magic Show!!!!!! :wizard:

We thought it was AWESOME!!!

We went to the 11am show with Hersey and Alex, and SamIAm and Megan!
And I thought the show was great! Lots of fun! And the merchandise was pricey, like Kim mentioned! But hey, it's Disney, so I didn't expect any less! :rotfl:

Then we all went to Gino's East for lunch! Lots of fun there too!!

Hey SamIAm would you mind if I ask for you to return that MNSSHP flyer/brochure that I showed you?? It's the only one I have and I wanted it for scrapbooking.....sorry!

Hersey Thanks for noticing my new pictures of my boyfriend......ummm...I mean Jon! ;)

Slo That's a very cute picture of Steph at the BBB!! princess:
Sorry your chicken dinner didn't turn out after all that wait! I thought that only happened to ME!!! :rotfl2:

Donna Sorry we didn't go to the same Magic show time as you and Mark! You guys could have joined us for luch!! Shucks!!
Hope you enjoyed it! :thumbsup2

Hersey noticed this and some others might have as well, that my ticker is changed for our Christmas trip to Disneyland & Vegas.

Due to the cost of airfare (I should have booked airfare ages ago!! ) we have decided to change our Disneyland trip to Spring break, which will allow me to search for low airfare again!!
Airfare was around $400 per person!!!!  There's no way I'm paying that much to fly.....for 4 of us!! :furious:

So we are going to our other favorite vacation spot for Christmas.....Big Cedar Lodge (it's an hour south of Branson, MO ). We've always wanted to go there during the holidays! :cloud9:

So I rebooked all our reservations yesterday for Disneyland and Vegas. :)

Look! I've got a new ticker! You know how it's hard to come back and not have another trip. Well, luckily a couple of my friends decided they wanted to go, so I got to plan another one! :cheer2: It started out being earlier in the year, like January or so, but it's ended up being Memorial Day weekend. We're going on Thursday (my friend's birthday). It will be me, her (she lives in Michigan--met her years ago, she's another skating fan), her good friend who lives near her, and another skating friend from Scotland. I'm closer with my one friend, but I've done some skating stuff with the other two as well. (We're all going to Skate America week after next.)

We're staying at Saratoga Springs. I got my travel agent discount, so we're staying four nights, $85 each per night, in a two bedroom villa! We'll go the parks on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Then we'll come home on Monday. I'm hoping I can talk them into getting those Mickey ear headbands for all of us (they had them at DL, I'm assuming they're at WDW). I think that would be fun. :ssst: Don't tell them. :rolleyes1

Good Monday morning everyone!!!! :surfweb:

So....last night before I went to bed, I peeked out the windows next to my front door to make sure the garage door was closed, and I found a party happening on my front porch.

fall2006046.jpg

fall2006045.jpg

Isn't that funny?!?! :lmao:

So, Kevin banged on the door and scared them away. He put things back the way they should be, and sprinkled a replent on them to keep them away. We went to bed.

Then this morning I woke up and looked outside, and what did I see - the party was going on full force again :rotfl2: I yelled upstairs, "I guess you should get your money back for that replent!!!!! :rotfl:

HERSEY - I watched Narnia last night, it was on Showtime. I saw it and said, "Okay, I need to see who Edmund is again." I really do enjoy that movie - I made Kevin watch it too ;) Alex will make a good Edmund.

DonnaW - Did you enjoy the magic show? I hope you and Mark had a good time.

roseprincess - I'm glad to hear that Chrissy is doing well and back to her old self. I like the new picture in your siggie :)

eeyore45 - How did your Cornish Hens turn out? I've never made them before.

Bunchkin - I'm glad you guys had fun at the show. I can hardly wait to go now in November!!! :cool1:

Sk8Leigh - Congratulations on your new ticker!!!

Well, I better go and check on the critters - have a good day everyone!!

Good Morning All :sunny:

slo---those racoons seemed to really love their feast :rotfl: A neighbor put out some pumpkins a few years ago and when I would walk to work in the morning the squirrels were haveing a field day.

I tried to catch up with everything but I guess I am like mac, can't remember it all

roseprincess---I am glad everything went well with Chrissy's MRI. I remember those days well, we would get to Childrens around 8 am but we always had to wait for BT Clinic which was at 1 pm. After Amy's MRI we would eat lunch in the cafeteria then walk around the hospital. Some days we wouldn't get home until 5 or 6. The only good thing was we always had the MRI results by the time we went to clinic.

eeyore45---I love the idea of using postcards for autographs. We usually just take the pictures and forget about the autographs.

slo and Kim---Stacey's bed is on the floor...you know that's what teens do :rotfl: but at least nothing can get under the bed. Now the closet... :sad2:

Bunchkin--- :wizard: for your DD, I know how hard it must be.

Well the old mind has gone now, can't remember anything else  so I will just say HI to everyone

Sk8Leigh---congrats on the new ticker  I am actually thinking of going soon for a long weekend---leaving on Thursday pm and coming back on Sunday pm. I found air fare on SW for 135 RT and on my last trip I upgraded to an AP :teeth:

Good morning, Chicago! :goodvibes

BUNCHKIN...I think I remember you guys talking about the Magic show awhile ago, but honestly, Mark & I *just* decided to go yesterday and bought the the tickets for the 2 p.m. show yesterday morning! <talk about last minute..geez!> Anyway, at first, I had my doubts about whether we would like it, the beginnning I thought was kind of slow, but it certainly did give us the Disney fix we needed...plus some of the magic towards the end of the show was really, really good! :thumbsup2 I'm sorry we missed getting together with all of you, though! And, congrats on your new "boyfriiend" pix...and your new trip plans, too!

SLO..cute pictures of the "party"!

LEIGH...great to see you have another trip planned!

NITE OWL..good to "see" you here....still waiting for the *full* trip report! :)

Hope everyone has a GREAT day today!!!
