I will be at HS tomorrow - so excited! Any great ideas about what to say to Kylo Ren and Chewbacca? I want to make these meet and greets memorable!

I've heard both can be very awkward. Chewbacca just kind of screams and Kylo Ren will sort of stare at you and then ask you to join the Dark Side a few times. My ultimate suggestion? Go to a comic book convention. They have some excellent cosplayers there who get really into it.

Maybe wear a shirt that has one of them on it and make sure they notice?

Kylo and Chewbaca are both recorded responses so hard to force it to be memorable. When it works it works but kind of like talking Mickey when it doesn't it can be rough. Our Kylo meet seemed to work out great because fiance was wearing a rebel alliance hat so when he was told I can see the darkness inside of you join us on the dark side it made sense. He got a great experience but I felt kind of left out.

My DH and I are wearing shirts that have silhouettes of Han and Leia. The Leia one says "I love you," and the Han one says "I know." I was hoping that might get a reaction.

It probably won't be anything specifc as everything they say is prerecorded so there is little room for extra. Perhaps their gesture but it won't be an audio response.

I am pretty sure we just smiled like idiots when we met Chewy! Really one of my favorite meets ever. He kind of gestured and was really fun.

Well...when we met Chewie, I started crying like a teenage fan-girl lol! So he roared and hugged me. It was awesome. Then he made us put up the hoods on our hoodies for the pictures (his handler explained that he thought we were Jedis and needed our hoods).

My DD, DGD, and I met Chewie wearing Chewie tees, but my DGS was wearing a storm trooper shirt. Chewie threw up his hands and made exasperated gestures, pointing to the stormtrooper shirt. He gestured for my DGS to cover up the tee for the photo. Then he made the finger to eye gesture that he was going to keep an eye on DGS. It was really quite funny and the cast members and photographer got into it a little bit.

As we lined up for the Kylo picture, I told the family to "be strong so he doesn't get anything out of us" and then he stood there with the force hand gesture while I kinda made it like it was fighting him off from being in my mind.

then he said some canned response and we took a group picture.

We had gone to the Visa meet and greet and saw Kylo. We had only seen the latest star wars the day before, which is a good thing since we would have had no idea who he was. When we went in, we had no idea who we would see but was thinking of the "traditional" people. When we got Kylo, we were so shocked, we just laughed like idiots. You know when you laugh and then it's ok, lets stop and be serious and then you crack up again......that's how we were. He said turn to the dark side and we laughed our heads off. I'm sure after we left, the CMs had a good laugh.

We got to meet Kylo twice.. first at the regular Kylo line, then at the Visa M&G (we didn't know who we were gonna meet . I was hoping for Chewie but got Kylo). Kylo was creepy. I didn't get to see the latest SW move so I have no idea everything that Kylo said. (BTW I didn't know it was prerecorded). The interaction was awkward and my family just stood there for the picture.. My friend later told me that her twin sons just went up to Kylo trying to hug him and Kylo ran away... I will try to do that next time.. :love1:

Chewie is great!! My daughter and son loved him. He is very interactive. Kylo isn't bad either, but he is very creepy.

What ever you do, do not try to hug Kylo Ren. DD21 tried that, and he tried to run away and the handlers kinda freaked out. It made for a very awkward photo afterwards.

Chewy was cool but Kylo Ren made me uncomfortable. He played his character really well. Chewy took a selfie with my son but Kylo told us not to come back! The wait was about 10 minutes for each one morning.

I will second this. The kids my DD12 was with tried to hug Kylo Ren and we were all asked to leave. No photo after that! It was not good!

My 2yr old wore a shirt with Chewie on it and Chewie very excitedly pointed himself out and hugged my kids. My kids LOVED.
Kylo Ren told my 2yr old that he saw the dark side in him and in all the pictures my 2yr old is grinning ear to ear. It is actually pretty funny. One picture looks like Kylo Ren is doing a stare down with my 2 yr old and the 2yr old is just smiling as much as he can at Kylo Ren.

We've only met them at DL, not WDW, but if they are anything similar, they are fantastic and quite interactive. Chewy's sounds could be quite expressive, especially when the CMs were interpreting for him. There was a group of 4 ahead of us, and one of them had the nerve to wear a darth vader T-shirt to meet Chewy. He went ballistic - pointing at the shirt and yelling and motioning her out of the photo. He stormed off and refused to take photos unless she was out of them. It was quite hilarious. He finally agreed to allow her in the photo as long as she did not stand by him. One of the photos he was sulking at her, which I bet turned out to be a classic. DD told him that Han Solo was her favorite character and he immediately was all "sweet" sounds and cuddles with her and the rest of us. They had a good conversation with the CM translating his Wookie language "responses". I would think your shirts would get a reaction.

Kylo Ren was intimidating. He allowed no one to enter the room until he personally determined they should be allowed. If your toe was even on the yellow line he had a fit. He used lots of gestures to communicate- like he could not even be bothered to speak to you. His canned responses were also done well- it appeared that he and DD were having a real conversation. She was not remotely intimidated by him and was smarting off to him (She told him he had anger management issues) and he was threatening her. We have a fun photo where he is pointing his finger at her looking menacing. He backed off when he asked her if she was ready to come to the dark side-- and she said she would "think" about it-- and then took "posed" photos with her. We thought it was a very well done meet and greet.
