Would you choose Chefs de France or Tutto Italia for dinner? We have not been to either one before and will be on the Dining Plan. It is just DH and I. We would like to have good food and service both lol. :) Thanks!

we just went to the new italian place last month and it was wonderful!!!!

i voted chefs... i'm not a big fan of "new" restaurants 'til they have a chance to get "broken in" :)

I voted for Chefs de France based on my experiences there and at Alfredo's. I can't really say about the new Tutto Italia, but we really enjoyed Chefs de France in October.

I vote for Tutto. I have only read good reviews for this restaurant. Too bad it's only temporary. The last couple of times I dined at Chef's..it just wasn't the same. It used to be one of my favorites.

I know I am a latecomer here, but I am looking up reviews for Chefs and I am not liking what I see. I have to, however, put in a plug for Tutto Italia, especially for the person who did not like Alfredo's. Tutto Italia is a wonderfully refreshing change from Alfredo's, whose time had come to leave. Tutto is great. I have eaten there twice in the last two weeks and definitely will plan on going back. I agree with the poster about too bad it's only temporary. I cannot understand why, when Alfredo's closed, Patina Restaurant Group came in, completely revamped the menu, and now it's going to turn over again. My vote is for Tutto!

I am dying to try the new Italian place. My co-worker just came back from a weekend trip and he and his family were able to walk right up to the new Italy place and were seated right away. He said food was fantastic!

It's even worth a wait! My DF and I had a wonderful lunch two weeks ago. Sat outside, split a bottle of red wine. I had the insalata mista and my DF had the eggplant appetizer. Then we split a very simple pasta dish (sometimes simplicity is key with Italian cooking). It was penne with a light red sauce, with fresh pieces of mozzarella cheese. Outstanding. It was just a nice lunch. We even got a treat and sat next to Tony Mainolfi and his family. For you out of towners, he is the chief meteorologist at WESH Channel 2 in the Orlando area. A cuty petuty (as were a lot of the servers), and a really nice guy. :lmao:

Tutto Italia was one of the best meals we ate last week. Outstanding!

Oh, and the so-called "$12 Cannoli" have been 'reduced' to $6.50, but now you get only one. It's a bit bigger than "normal," though.

Chefs de France all the way. You can get good Italian food almost everywhere. Chefs was one outstanding night we won’t forget anytime soon. We were there last September.

I disagree. You can get Italian food almost anywhere, but the vast majority of it is mediocre at best. Truly excellent Italian food like I had at Tutto Italia last week is fairly rare.

I was there last week, and there is no question that Tutto served us the better meal.

I love Chef's de France and before last week would have picked it, since we never did like Alfredos. However, Dec 8th I tried Tutto Italia and had the best meal of my trip.

Le Cellier has always been my favorite restauraunt at WDW, however as I left Tutto Italia, I called my family back home and told them I had a new favorite. I was on the DDP and it was a great deal. However, in May I'll be back and paying OOP, but still plan to dine at Tutto Italia again. I'll probably also dine at Chef's de France and Le Cellier as I also love them, but am most looking forward to Tutto Italia.

We've been to Chef's numerous times and were fortunate enough to try Tutto this past Thanksgiving trip. I will say that we enjoyed it a lot. Fresh ingredients, wonderful cream sauce on my pasta, very ample portions. It was an excellent Italian meal and let me qualify that by saying that I'm extremely, extremely picky on my Italian food (family is Italian and was raised on my grandparent's Italian home cooking).

Give it a try. I thought their service was outstanding as well.

Le Cellier is still outstanding, that goes without saying. But I have a thing for being treated rudely by servers. Just can't get into it. So, even if the food were marginal, the servers would put me over the edge in France. We eat at Disney so often, we like getting to know the servers. If we bond with one, we find that it's all part of the dining experience. I feel service is an integral part of it. The food has to be good, but a good server will make your meal that much better. It's an art.

Hmmm...I wonder if I dared try booking a ressie for Chefs under the name "Anton Ego." Do you think that would have any pull?

Tutto! We ate there with our Candlelight Processional package last week and it was wonderful! Our server, Roberto, was great too!

I stand corrected! Well, I was coerced into eating at Chefs just last evening. I have to say, the food was very good (I had the chicken) and our server, a nice young lady from Nice, was superb. There are some servers that I suspect had an attitude, but we were lucky enough not to get them! So, I would venture in there again. I guess it's hit or miss. But we hit it on a good night.
