chef mickey's worth $180?

We have alwas done Chef Mickeys but this year we booked rather late and did not get the dining plan. It was one of the restaurants to DS asked for but aside from not being able to get a reservation at a decent time I also cannot justify the cost. We have decided to just hunt down those characters.

The food was marginal and the interactions were rushed. Not worth it IMO.

Ohana is another option for breakfast. My 5 year old son wasn't big on Lilo and Stitch, but he was startstuck when Mickey came around.

We like Character Meals because you can meet several characters over the course of an hour or so. But then we still line up and meet the same characters in the parks as well. We prefer breakfast because once we ae in the parks, we don't like to leave and then go back.

I agree. The food at Chef mickey's is not that great. We've been twice and we won't be returning. I wouldn't waste $180 to go there when you can see Mickey at the parks.

If I'm going to spend that much on a character meal, its going to be dinner. For that reason we're still trying to figure out if we can fit in Garden Grill, which has Mickey and gets great reviews for their food. We have a group of 5 adults 3 kids so price is a consideration for us as well. I don't want to commit to it yet so we'll probably play it by ear and on a free night check and see if they have any room, which is unlikely, but not impossible.

We can find Mickey in the parks but its different when the characters come and spend time with you, so we do like to have one ...

But for our character breakfast we selected Tusker House which gets decent reviews and is only $25 for adults and $14 for kids and has Donald, Goofy, Mickey, Pluto. So for your party it would be $125 + 18% tip, a little more reasonable than Chef Mickey's.

We've been to Chef Mickey's before for dinner on FD. But we do not have it this time. I made reservations thinking it was cheaper than what they are saying now. For 5 adults and 1 2-year old it's $180 + 18% tips. Is $212 worth a one hour breakfast?? I'm so torn!!! I want Ryan to see and hug Mickey but I dont know if its worth $212.

Shoot, that's nothing. I paid for eleven adults at Chef Mickey's for breakfast. We took our son and eight of his friends to WDW after HS graduation. We used DVC points for a Grand Villa at OKW and got everyone to WDW and back (used two cars and a U-Haul trailer for the luggage). We bought breakfast for eleven (luckily we had a TIW card so we got a discount on ten of the meals). The kids had the best time and they still talk about how fun it was (they were not looking forward to it either, but I told them it was the only thing we were all doing together).

How many waffles and bacon can you eat to make up for that kind of bill. IMO, that kind of money for breakfast is ridiculous.

we do like chef Mickey but not sure I would do it for breakfast....lunch yes, but if you are going just for the meet n greet with Mickey, I think there are a lot fo places to see him.....my kids are older and did enjoy dinner at CM.....We also like Garden grill-we have many good memories there when they were young and are going there again in Dec-nice meet with Mickey...

I'm not crazy about the food at Chef Mickey's. Have you thought about Tusker House breakfast? I think it may be a bit cheaper and the selection is good. My picky dd10 loves it.
Mickey, Daisy, Donald and Goofy are all there.

We always go to Ohana for breakfast. It's much cheaper and you get to see Mickey, Pluto, Lilo, and Stitch. I think it was about $20 when I went last year :)

For us it is worth it, but it is understandable that not everything will appeal to everyone, that's why I am so happy that Disney offers many different alternatives for theirs guests. There are other places where he can meet Mickey.

It is our last day there and we are not going to any parks that day. That's why I originally thought it would be a good Disney experience on our last day without going into the parks but......

I've had nothing but bad experiences at Chef Mickey including long wait to be seated and cold blend food. to me and my family it's not worth it at all. There's only 2 character meals we don't do because of food and that's chef Mickey and H&V. We've given both places 2 chances and that was it.

If oyu really want to see Mickey and Pluto, I would advise Ohana would be your best bet and the food is better IMO but you will not see any of the other fab 5 but will see Stitch and Lilo. Stitch is the highlight of our trip everytime.

At 'Ohana, you will normally see Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Stitch and Lilo.

How much is O'Hana's and is there waffles and such? I looked at what they have for the menu and I know my daughter won't eat potatoes with onions and she don't eat meat. O'Hana's would be $40 cheaper than Chef Mickey's.

Yes they have Mickey waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, patatoes and yummy bread and I can't remember if there's anything else. It's served family style at the table and you can always ask for more. I think that's a plus when you have young kids. Much easier then having to walk around with many plates and kids in tow LOL

oops I forgot about Minnie being there.

We are in the same dilemma...the price.

We aren't doing the dining plan since my oldest will be 12 when we go but eats like a 5 yo, a picky 5 yo so it isn't worth it money wise for us.

We asked our kids if it was OK to skip CM next year when we go & my oldest who was 7 when we went last had the look of death on her face. So I guess I have to fork over the money & eat there.

We usually eat there for dinner though on the day we get there. I make my kids get their fill of veggies for the week, LOL!!! The rest of the week they eat burgers & fries & I am OK with that considering all we do is walk & swim.
