chef mickey's worth $180?

IMO I would say its not worth it. You should have MANY opportunities to see him on your park days...

We went last year, and though the boy (4 at the time) loved the character interaction, we all agree it was one of the worst breakfasts we've ever had. How do you screw up frozen hash brown patties? On my second trip to the buffet (I get small portions each time), I saw they had smoked salmon, and as I reached for it, I reflected on the quality of what I'd already eaten, and decided it wasn't worth the risk...

I did it once just to say I did it, but I'd never pay for a meal like that off of the DDP (and it's a struggle to work myself up to it on the DDP). It just wasn't that great. I get that Chef Mickey is a Disney institution, I get that it's one of those "just have to do" things for some people, and honestly kind of get why... But honestly, there are so many places and so many other character meals where you can meet Mickey that I'd never pay OOP for that meal and I probably wouldn't even waste a DDP credit.

I'd check out Tusker House. The food is awesome and you still get to meet Mickey. When breakfast is over, you're in the park and in prime position to nab a FASTPASS or jump in line for a featured Animal Kingdom ride. I wouldn't waste my time with Chef Mickey.

Honestly, I would say no to have to pay for 5 adults for only one 2 year old to see Mickey...Mickey is relatively easy to see at WDW.

We took my son who was turning 3 on the trip. It was a wonderful memory for us to see him with Mickey BUT he doesn't remember it (he is 6 now), and I could have got the picture and experience for myself with the price of park admission vs. paying for that dinner.
