We've been to Chef Mickey's before for dinner on FD. But we do not have it this time. I made reservations thinking it was cheaper than what they are saying now. For 5 adults and 1 2-year old it's $180 + 18% tips. Is $212 worth a one hour breakfast?? I'm so torn!!! I want Ryan to see and hug Mickey but I dont know if its worth $212.

You can always see Mickey at his new home at the Town Square Theater with your admission ticket.

Mickey is also in the parks -- :)

I don't think i could justify a $40 per person breakfast Mickey or No Mickey.

Dinner, Lunch -- for sure -- but not breakfast.

For a long time now I've felt that the character meals have been way overpriced. However, apparently lots of folks disagree since they always seem to be fully booked. :confused3

As the PP noted, you can easily see/hug Mickey at one of the regular character meet and greets in the parks.

mickey's line at epcot (in future world) is generally pretty fast.

can some of the adults do something else while one or two take your son? last time we went, i took my daughter to CRT alone. it was a fun mommy/daughter date.

good luck with your choice!

Is it hard to get to him there? Or is the wait usually really bad?

There is a Fastpass for the theater, and sometimes Minnie is with him. This is a MUCH better setting for meeting Mickey. No strangers in the pics, and the Photopass photographer will take a photo of all of you with your camera if you want them to. Character meal photos tend to have a bunch of strangers inhaling their food in the background. NOT attractive.:rotfl:

Every time we have gone, there is about a 20 minute wait. If that sounds too long, you could always get the fastpass to see him. There is a roped line, so it is very organized and easy to get in to see Mickey. It is really nice to be able to get pictures of just your little ones and Mickey & Minnie.

No. IMO, not worth it at all. Just ate there for the 2nd time yesterday, and even our kids don't want to go back again. Thank God!

We saw Mickey in Epcot and at the Studios, great photos and meeting opportunities. The waits were not bad and in Epcot we moved quickly from character to character with only one line wait. In the studios we had to wait in separate lines for each character but the waits were short. The good thing was the lines were inside in air conditioned comfort. Be sure to had the passport cms your camera and they will take pictures of your entire group.

If you are questioning whether it is worth the $$ only you can decide that. There are quite a few places that you can wait on line to meet Mickey and all it will cost you is some time out of your day. Another option I didn't see listed yet is the character trail at Camp Minnie/Mickey in AK. The fab 5 can be found there as well as Chip & Dale, Daisy, Turk, sometimes Thumper and his Girlfriend, sometimes some of the Junglebook Characters and a few others. Also just before you go down the trail Lilo & Stitch can usually be found just outside the main gift shop. You can spend as much or as little time as you want waiting in the separate lines for the different characters. Some of them have Photopass Photographers available.

I have never ate at chef mickeys. In April we met Mickey and the crew at Epcot. Got great pictures and stood in line for 35 minutes. My avatar is one of the pictures that was taken. If you are torn on getting a meeting that's always an option, and picking a less expensive breakfast.

I'm new to character meals because I have a DD that's very young and it's a new thing for us to do at WDW, but you are SO right. I'm sure I've been one of the "inhalers" too. Gotta run to get the food and eat as to not miss our one chance an HOUR to see the characters we paid $40/person to see!

I think the best interaction with Mickey we've had has been at the Visa M&G.

In 2010 (about the same time in August you're going), we saw Mickey & Gang at the character spot in Epcot (I think that's the name) and got it without more than a few minutes wait. Very easy and quick and we got some great pictures. This was in the morning on our way to Soarin' - as I recall, we didn't get their at rope drop but shortly thereafter, and the line was very small.

I thought Chef Mickey's was a mad house & the food really wasn't very good. The theater in MK was quiet & you're pretty much guaranteed someone won't be ready to pounce on Mickey & drag him over to their table. We had other character meals & this was the only one that was absolutely crazy.

I agree! We did the same thing in that we were on our way to Soarin at rope drop and there were only about 5 people in line. We were in and out of there in no time and had taken pics with all the fab 5:yay: We also did breakfast and dinner at Chef Mickey's and it's safe to say that it was probably our last one.

Just be careful about the time you go to the Epcot Character Spot. Only once have I waited less than 75 minutes.

That is a long time! I think every single year (5 years straight) we have had a posted wait time of 40 minutes. We have always made it through the line between 35 and 45 minutes.

For me the answer is NO!! That's a lot of money for breakfast. As pp's have said you can meet and hug Mickey in many places. There are also other character meals with Mickey that are less expensive than Chef Mickey, Tusker House at AK (he's dressed in Safari gear) and 'Ohana at the Poly (dressed with a Hawaiian shirt). I personally think Chef Mickey is very over-rated.
