I want to take my family to Chef Mickey's for dinner. Is it a bad idea to plan on going to Chef Mickey's directly from a day at the park for an evening meal? Has any done this? Pro's / Con's Thank You - LJ01
We did this on our last trip. Morning at MK, afternoon at MGM, dinner at Chef Micky's, fireworks on the beach at the poly, changed into pjs and watched the electric water parade from the beach at the poly. One of my best days at Disneyworld.
The kids should love Chef Mickey's. It is loud, so they don't need to be quiet; it's a buffet, so they don't need to wait for food; and it has characters, so they have entertainment. Should be a good end to the day.
Personally, I didn't like Chef Mickey's because I was the tired cranky one . I didn't really like the food; the noise was too much for me; and my daughter was climbing all over me. My wife was videotaping the dinner, and I think I was able to see the exact point at which I internally snapped. I did keep it together and still had a great evening
We did this on our last trip in Nov 2000. We left MK & went directly to Chef Mickey's without a PS !!! We were seated in 20 minutes & the kids loved it! It was a wonderful way to start the vacation. They are looking forward to going back on our upcoming trip in November.
The character interaction was wonderful and we all loved the food. Didn't notice it being too loud but we were on vacation & had a great day so I guess it depends on your frame of mind
I think you should go with your plans & have a great dinner.
Thank You for your advice. I am sure I will be a little tired and cranky too, but once I sit down I should be able to relax. Now I guess I need to make my PS reservations for June - if it's not too late already. - LJ01
