I am going on first solo trip Jan. 6-16 & have decided to treat myself to character breakfast. Have done Cindy's several times & don't really want to go there this trip (want to do something NEW). Have narrowed it down to Chef Mickey's or Crystal Palace. Which would you recommend and why?
THANX!!!!! :earsgirl:

You can't go wrong with either of the two options you have narrowed it down to:

Chef Mickeys for the variety and selection of foods. It is also much quieter for Breakfast than Dinner. We also like Chef Mickey's for the mainstream characters and its easy access by monorail.

Crystal Palace is also very nice if you get a PS time before the park is open to the public. The Winnie the Pooh gang. Nothing like walking down Mainstreet almost by yourself.

I would pick Crystal Palace if going solo. I just don't like all that hoopla IF I'm alone. Afterall, Chip slapped my DH for not twirling his napkin during the napkin dance! I do like Chef Mickeys though...

Both are good for breakfast. If I had to choose, then I would choose the Crystal Palace.

When we went to WDW in 03, we did both places. The did Crystal Palace on one day for breakfast and Chef Mickey's on another day for breakfast. The reason we chose the breakfast meals is because of my mom's pickiness of food. At least with breakfast, there is always something that she will eat. Anyway, we didn't have kids with us, just two adults, and I have to say that at Crystal Palace, the Pooh and his friends interacted with us as much as, if not more, as they did with the families and their children. Tigger messing up my mom's hair and THEN trying to straighten it back up was THE BEST! We had a wonderful wait person! We never saw the bottom of our juice glasses!

On another day we went to Chef Mickey's. The food was okay, but I didn't care for the set up of the restaurant. It seemed very congested for the space that it was in. The food was good and some of the characters were very interacting with the guests. Goofy must have been having a bad day, because he didn't seem very friendly. Chip and Dale were great though, as well as Pluto who skipped me out the door when we got up to leave. Mickey and Minnie were great too.

My choice would have to be Crystal Palace. When we go back to WDW next July, that's one of the places were definately returning to!

I would choose CP over CM any day of the week. DH and I did CM's on our honeymoon and I was very disappointed. The food wasn't that good and we were in a small room with 20-30 Japanese tourists, each of whom had a camera and wanted a million photos of themselves with the characters. We had less than great service and it left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
In June DSis and I took her son to CP for breakfast and loved it. The service was outstanding and the food was very good (at least what I could tolerate during my morning sickness). We also had great character interaction. The CP is also beautiful, much more atmosphere here than at CR.

Well I don't have much of an answer as I've only eaten at one for breakfast. On our last trip, we ate at Crystal Palace for lunch and LOVED It. They have a wonderful buffet and the restaurant is really pretty and nice to be in. Love the Pooh characters too. We ate at Chef Mickey's for breakfast and I really liked the food as far as breakfast buffets go. They had a lot of options. Just not as nice of a restaurant in my opinion. I think both were equally fun with the character interaction, but probably my husband and I will not go back to Chef Mickey's and will go to Crystal Palace again.

Sorry for the duplicates...it kept saying the server was busy and wouldn't post, then all of a sudden there were like 5 and I don't know how to delete them. :guilty:

I am going to CMs in Feb. but have done CP. If there were no characters I would still eat breakfast there because the food was outstanding!!! I know you're thinking just how exciting a buffet can be, but trust me, it was yummy!
