My almost two year old is obsessed with Mickey and friends but I'm not sure how he'll react to the characters in real life. Which do you recommend for our family of 4? DH, two year old, 5 month old, and myself.

Cape May. Much quieter, chiller, better food. Easier to retreat a little while still eating if either child freaks out.

My kids ask to go to Chef Mickey's every visit, much to my chagrin. The food is meh, but they LOVE it. They have never once asked to return to Cape May.

I would go with Cape May since it has better food. I am not a fan of Chef Mickey's since the food is not so great. They only reason we went there last year was that we were staying at BLT and it got us meeting the fab five with out having to wait in any lines. Other then that it is not worth going to

Food is better at Cape May IMO, but I like that you get the full Fab 5 at Chef Mickey's. Cape May was a bit more quiet, but I don't think it's such a drastic difference to make a huge impact. Ultimately, I think you need to decide which is more important...better food or having Mickey and Pluto in the mix. The breakfast food at Chef Mickey's isn't bad, but it's not rave-worthy either.

Cape May! Love the breakfast here. Great food and the characters are awesome and so cute in their beach attire.

Thanks! I managed to get reservations for both so I think we'll try Cape May in the beginning of the week and if he rally loves the characters we'll do Chef Mickeys? If not, we'll cancel the reservations. Cape May may be less intimidating if it's smaller and more quiet.

If you are looking for other meals, our favorite brft is Crystal Palace in MK with the Pooh characters, with a beautiful view of the castle and made-to- order omelettes and puffy French toast!

I"d say Cape May, unless MICKEY is a must. He does not appear at Cape May, only at Chef Mickey. Cape May has Minnie, Donald and Goofy in beachwear. Chef Mickey has Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto. Chef Mickey's is definitely more lively. Breakfast food is breakfast food as far as I'm concerned.

It really is smaller and more quiet.

If Mickey's a must, Garden Grill (Epcot) and Tusker House (at AK) both have an intersection of Mickey + chiller. (Plus, the food is great at both!)

So I definitely liked the cape may breakfast better BUT I would 100% recommend Chef Mickeys if you kid is a big fan of Mickey Mouse. When we took my DD to Chef Mickeys @ age 2 and she was at her peak obsession with Mickey Mouse Clubhouse & Mickey, she went totally nuts with excitement. There were Mickey pictures on the wall, Mickey statues etc and she just loved it more than anything. She just kept pointing at everything Mickey and was probably the happiest during her entire one week trip at WDW - at that age. The theming is pretty good so your little one will be happy checking out everything even if the characters kind of freak him out.

I mean it's definitely loud and chaotic but I find all characters meals kind of chaotic.

Cape may all the way!!!! Much better food and way more relaxing time, not as stressful!!

It really depends on who you want to see...we have been to Chef Mickey's on several occasions and the food is just ok, but we are going there more for the characters. They have Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto there. They have a fun little dance thing that they do with napkins that my kids enjoyed, and it is at the contemporary which is fun watching the monorail come and go. On the other hand it is VERY noisy (unless you do an early ADR) last year we had a 7:30AM ADR and it was pretty quiet. Cape May Cafe we haven't actually been to yet but I have heard nothing but good things about it. Cape May though only has Minnie, Donald, and Goofy so if you are expecting to see Mickey you will be disappointed because he is not there. We are eating at Cape May Cafe on our next trip instead of Chef Mickey's (My older DS is a little bored of Chef Mickeys), but we will have plenty of other places to see Mickey bc we also do Garden Grill, Ohana, Tusker House, and we usually get a FP for talking Mickey. If you can do 1 of those other things where you can see Mickey some place else then I would suggest you go for Cape May Cafe because they do have a better rep than Chef Mickey's

Cape May,without a doubt. Much calmer. Characters will take their time at each table. Less chaos and great food. A much better experience for everyone all way around.

Chef Mickey's has a cheerier vibe. Cape May is pretty subdued.

Minnie Mouse at Cape May faked her signature, and the rest of the characters barely paused for pictures when we went. I was highly disappointed in the character interaction. We've always had great interaction at Chef Mickeys.
