Chef Mickey's character dining returning!

Character Dining is NOT returning.

"When Mickey and friends return, the experience may look a little different than the last time you visited, but you can still expect to smile, wave and make unforgettable memories with some of your favorite characters as they parade through the restaurant in their chef’s best."

It honestly may never return to that at all at this point. We just don't know. But certainly characters in the room when there were none is a huge improvement!

Calm down. I'm just repeating what the article said.

And if characters are walking around when I'm dining...

It is character dining as we know it now.

Curious why it is going to take another 70+ days to put this together, considering they already have this dining type experience at Toppolino Terrace and H&V today. Really no excuse to not have this up and running within the next week or two. They aren't have to build the facility, they already serve breakfast there today, can't understand why the long delay.

I took a look on the Disney site, prices are going up for the "character" dining that starts in December. $42/adult, $27/child plus taxes and gratuities.

That's in line with Topolino's isn't it?

I'm glad to see that there are more character meals starting! I have never been a fan of Chef Mickey (in its normal form). The food was okay and it was always LOUD unless you went in either the first or last 30 minutes of the day.

Still....so glad to see it returning in some form!

It's so anyone who has an ADR that was bookable today would be at the old price and without characters. In a couple of days, people can start booking with the characters. But what Disney doesn't want to do is to let some people book at the old price and get characters. Hence the 70ish days, 60+10.

Makes sense as I know they were "discounting" the meal slightly due to a lack of characters, however, I doubt ANYONE who has booked Chef Mickey's would be put out for a few more dollars to see characters. And it sure hasn't prevented Disney from raising prices overnight for other expenses, say park tickets.

We are eating there on 12/12-last day of our trip and I'd be more than happy to pay some additional for the newer menu items and the characters.

It's not a few though, it's almost double! It's only $25 right now, jumping to $42 is a lot with a bigger family!

Didn't realize they had discounted it so much (CRT is only $13 less without characters and costs almost twice as much to begin with), but in all honesty when has WDW gave a wit about the cost of their services to guests? I doubt folks were eating at CM because it was a chance to eat great food for a reasonable price, and finally without those pesky characters.

I’m planning an ADR there for December 9 or 10th. How can I be sure I’ll still be charged the $25 price???
